HEROES TO THE
The Spreier Family On December 6, 2021 Sharon's water broke at just 18 weeks pregnant. Knowing she was going to be having a high-risk birth, her healthcare professionals quickly sent her from Bend to Portland to receive the care she needed at Randall Children's Hospital. After staying at the hospital for several weeks, her son Raymond was born at just 28 weeks. It was a chaotic time for the Spreier family, as they weren't sure if he was going to make it due to the complications at birth. Sharon, her husband Alex, and their daughter Hazel were all able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House as Ray was up at hospital growing and learning to get stronger. When they first walked in the doors Sharon said, “I felt safe. I felt like I could bring by daughter here, and I could relax. It was an instant feeling that it was going to be ok. We've felt so spoiled being here. There were nights we came home and would have just not eaten because we were so tired and stressed. We just couldn’t make food. Having it all prepared for us when we got to the House has been amazing.” Fast forward four months, and the Spreier family is going back home to Bend with their happy and healthy baby, Raymond! The future is looking bright and they are filled with full hearts leaving RMHC.
Thank you for being a hero to RMHC families!
