St Ives We drive to St Erth where we board the local train for the short journey to St Ives. Here we discover one of Cornwall’s best loved resorts with its cobbled streets, winding alleyways, historic harbour and quaint fisherman’s cottages. A mecca for artists for many years, the town is home to the Tate Gallery St. Ives. Truro & Mevagissey We head to the Cornish Capital – Truro. Here, we are free to explore the cobbled streets and Georgian Houses or visit the stunning cathedral. We then continue to the delightful fishing village of Mevagissey – This pretty village is packed with character and Cornish charm.

A scenic drive west to Penzance travelling via Marazion with views of St Michael’s Mount. Our drive takes us to Porthcurno Telegraph Museum – once the largest telegraph station in the world. This inspiring museum is set in the beautiful valley of Porthcurno, close to the beach. The museum tells the story of the development of the original ‘Victorian Internet’ which connected the British Empire and the World and became the basis for modern day communication. Trebah Discover the majestic Trebah Gardens, a sub-tropical paradise set against a stunning coastal backdrop, one of the Great Gardens of Cornwall! All tours include a Day at leisure in Falmouth.

Covered sun lounge, Wellness sauna & spa pool, jacuzzi, pool table, tennis court & short mat bowls available. Restaurant, bar & lounge. large dance floor & regular entertainment programme. Mobility Grade: 3. Town and hotel: Fairly level location. Hotel entrance has a slight incline & a few steps, but lift serves all floors. Due to the nature of the building, there are occasional steps on landings.

Holiday Itinerary Thursday We drive to the West Country, making a convenient stop for lunch en-route. Friday We visit the historic village of © Belinda Fewings – Unsplash Charlestown, an amazing unspoiled example of a late Georgian working port, constructed in response to the growth of the local mining industry. Charlestown is a Padstow popular filming location with credits including the BBC’s hugely successful Poldark TV series and there are often square rigger ships in the harbour. This afternoon we travel to the fishing village of Mevagissey with its eclectic mix of shops, craft workshops, art galleries, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Saturday A free day in Falmouth, perhaps to explore the bustling harbour. Sunday Today we enjoy an excursion to the charming port resort of Padstow. A famous foodie destination, situated on the Camel Estuary, the town is also renowned for its harbour with its quaint narrow streets, from where you can enjoy some stunning views while indulging in a traditional Cornish pasty or two! Monday We travel home with a convenient stop for lunch en-route.

The Falmouth Hotel, Falmouth HHH

Affectionately known as the ‘Grand Old Lady of Falmouth’. Dating from 1865 with its impressive Victorian architecture and spacious interiors the hotel commands a wonderful prime seafront location and excellent sea views. Restaurant, bars, lounge, health centre with sauna, solarium & Jacuzzi. Mobility Grade: 4. Resort: Generally, level although access to the town area is quite hilly. Hotel: level with a lift to most floors.
