Friday Our excursion today takes us to Devizes and the famous Caen Hill Locks, a staircase of 16 locks on the Kennet and Avon canal. From here we head into Devizes town centre with opportunity for a leisurely exploration of the shops and to obtain lunch. During the afternoon we make our way back to the hotel Saturday We enjoy a leisurely morning in Chippenham, a historic market town Caen Hill Locks with a population of over 40,000. The combination of old and new, the historic architectural gems and modern shopping centres make this an ideal place to explore. This afternoon we have a short drive to beautiful Bradford-on-Avon for a short break before moving on to the time warp village of Lacock, famous for its picturesque streets and as a location for TV and film. Sunday This morning we head for Longleat House and Safari Park. We have time to wander around the house and then discover some of the stars of BBC’s ‘Animal Park’ in the world-famous Safari Park. Monday We visit the delightful town of Cirencester, often referred to as the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’. Its market square is dominated by the cathedral like Parish Church of St John the Baptist, returning home in the afternoon.

Holiday Itinerary
Monday We travel south, making a convenience stop for lunch en-route, arriving at our hotel during the early afternoon. Tuesday Travelling via the picturesque New Forest we visit Exbury Gardens, a spectacular woodland garden, famous for its Rothschild collection of rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias, which form a riot of colour in spring. Wednesday This morning we visit Compton Acres, one of the finest privately owned gardens in the south, with a unique series of tranquil gardens offering spectacular views of Poole harbour, Brownsea Island, and the Purbeck Hills beyond. Return to our hotel for lunch followed by free time to relax and enjoy Bournemouth in the afternoon. Thursday Today we unearth ‘Enid Blyton Country’ – Enid Blyton was one of the most successful British authors of the 20th century. She had an extensive love affair with Dorset and the Purbecks which provided the inspiration for many of her books and characters. Discover the delights of the region for yourself as we drive via Wareham to Corfe Castle then on to lovely Swanage. Our return is via Studland and the Sandbanks ferry. Friday After breakfast we commence our return home, arriving home during the afternoon.
