Holiday Itinerary
Monday We head for Greys Court (NT), an intimate family home set in the rolling hills of the Chilterns. The picturesque 16th century mansion exudes a welcoming atmosphere with a well-stocked kitchen and homely living rooms. The walled gardens are a colourful patchwork of interest set amidst medieval ruins. We continue in the afternoon to our hotel for our 4-night stay. Tuesday We head to the bustling market town of Kingston-upon-Thames with time to explore the busy marketplace, great independent shops and enjoy a drink and bite to eat in one of the lovely riverside cafes and restaurants. This afternoon travel to the wonderful Poppy Factory, where you can see how veterans still make Royal and regimental wreaths by hand today. Have a go at making your own poppy and enjoy an afternoon tea-break with fresh cakes from the in-house bakery. Wednesday Today we visit the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society at Wisley, where you could very easily spend a full day. Wisley can rightly claim to be one of the finest gardens in the world and is a place full of inspiration, with its spectacular floral displays, the Wild Garden, the Model Gardens and the state-of-the-art Glasshouse. Thursday Head to the lovely National Trust site of Runnymede and Ankerwycke this morning, the charming Thames side location that witnessed King John’s historic sealing of the Magna Carta over 800 years ago. Enjoy time to view the memorials including ones for John F Kennedy and the Commonwealth Air Forces, and perhaps enjoy a coffee and cake at the Magna Carta Tearoom before boarding your nearby cruise upstream towards wonderful Windsor, travelling through the Castle grounds themselves. On arrival enjoy time to browse the lovely shops and cute cafes. Friday Departing our hotel after breakfast we visit majestic Hampton Court Palace for an insight into the Royal Court of Henry VIII before returning home during the afternoon.

Holiday Itinerary
Thursday Departing Henley we travel to exquisite Blenheim Palace. Home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site boasting a diverse history. Enter the Palace and discover the gilded State Rooms and priceless collections set against striking stonework, and explore beautiful parkland, sweeping lawns, formal gardens and the magnificent Lake. After our visit we continue our hotel for our 4-night stay. Friday We head for the picturesque Thames-side town of Kingston-upon-Thames with its riverside setting. We have some time at leisure before we depart for the splendid RHS Garden at Wisley. The garden here is a place full of inspiration, Wisley offers ideas galore, with Wild Garden, Glasshouse, Model Gardens, Fruit Field, Arboretum and spectacular floral displays. Saturday Today we travel through the rolling Surrey countryside to the county town of Guildford, with its magnificent cathedral and cobbled high street. From here, we visit stunning Polesden Lacey, near Dorking. The late Queen Mother remarked ‘This is a nice house….’ on her honeymoon at Polesden Lacey. This country house with glorious views across the Surrey Hills, the glittering interior, designed to impress Royalty the world over houses art from the Dutch Masters and sparkling Faberge and more. The gardens offer something for everyone. Sunday This morning we have a short drive taking in some of the beautiful Berkshire countryside as we head for Henley-on-Thames, famous for its annual regatta. We have a short time to explore the town before we board our boat for our 1-hour river cruise along the Thames. Afterwards, we head to Royal Windsor where you can enjoy lunch, visit the famous Windsor Castle or one of its many independent stores or quaint streets. Monday After a leisurely breakfast we head home, pausing en-route in Oxford – The city of ‘Dreaming Spires’ with its University Colleges, impressive Ashmolean Museum and great shopping.
