EDITOR'S EDITOR'S NOTE NOTE Happy December! As we are entering December and half way with this school year, I hope that you all are doing well. Don’t forget to take breaks and take care of yourselves especially during this winter season. For this newsletter I tried doing things a little different, including more division and district information for you all, as well as a section on our officers. I plan on including more articles from members and pages that are feel more personal, so please try to come out to events and interact with us on instagram! To those of you who do come out to events and try to be active I want to say thank you. It is extremely appreciated during a time with immense challenges for all of us on board. Take care and stay active, monsters!

PRESIDENT'S PRESIDENT'S NOTE NOTE Hey hey monsters! Despite our situation, I hope your Thanksgiving break went well and that you had time to reflect on what you are thankful for, as well as honor the native peoples of this land. Considering the circumstances, I am so proud with the amount of hours we have earned, and hope to keep it up! I truly miss seeing your faces and getting to know you all, so please turn on your cameras during events and do not hesitate to reach out :). I look forward to more opportunities to hang out with you guys on our new discord, so please check that out often for updates and announcements! Thank you to those of you who have been actively attending our events, as I understand Zooming all day is draining, but seeing all of my members come together virtually truly warms my heart. Stay safe and warm, and I hope to see you soon!

INTERCLUB WITH PGHS & MTHS | 23rd Pleasant Grove, Monterey Trail, and Sheldon gathered on Zoom to write letters of appreciation. These letters were specifically for Kiwanians and teachers.

CLUB THANKSGIVING SOCIAL | 21st When I learned about Key Club’s Thanksgiving Social, I assumed it would be another online event where an opportunity to be “social” would turn into me communicating back and forth through text. As a freshman this year, this new high school admission was not what anyone had anticipated. Thanksgiving Social allowed me to have what our current circumstances confined, the opportunity to meet new people. I have times of timidity and times of extraversion, and with past placements with students from established friend groups, I became further intimidated.

I initially joined a game, and when I

entered the call shortly after, I was immediately acknowledged and welcomed by everyone in the chat. Everyone was easy to talk to, and I was in an environment where I was able to be myself. The convivial night consisted of continuous rounds of games, non-stop laughter, and amusement. Thanksgiving Social was one of those great nights where four hours became two. I am not much of a gamer, but these people made me stay until the majority collectively decided to end their night. This event was beyond my expectations and was a great start to Thanksgiving break. I wouldn’t have changed the night any other way plus, I left meeting a lot of new people!

SPOTLIGHT SPOTLIGHT ON ON SERVICE SERVICE Spotlight on Service, what is it? The Spotlight of Service Program, or SOSP, is a system that was made to encourage different service projects throughout the school year. It's like a set of guidelines that helps you create service projects and provides ways for your members to give to the community.

Each month, there's a different

theme for SOSP, November’s being "KIWANIS Family". For this month's SOSP, our club, Sheldon, has decided to have an interclub with two other clubs. Since this month's theme was "KIWANIS Family", we decided to make "thank you" cards to KIWANIS. Whether it be a general thank you card, or a card to a specific member of KIWANIS, we wanted to show our appreciation toward them. During this event, we had our three clubs join a zoom meeting. We presented a slide, had a few ice breakers, and eventually made our cards. I would say our members enjoyed this event, although some new numbers aren't sure of what KIWANIS is. Overall, this experience was pretty fun for each participant.
