Interview to Fernando Mora

I came to Joma more than 20 years ago: July 1, 2000. I went through other departments before joining the textile design department, but from the beginning Joma was presented to me as an incredible opportunity to continue growing.

Companies today are in continuous growth. The world is changing, everything is globalized and, therefore, so are are very big due to the continuous growth that I mentioned, and specifically for the development that Joma and my department have had in a relatively short period of time. one of the best sports brands in the world. That would not have happened if we had not known how to adapt to the new times and the changing needs of consumers. We would have been left behind. always focusing on the sports world. It’s fashion and sports.

Joma has become one of the best sports brands in the world.

In my opinion, evolution has always been linked to changes in the market, adapting to the sports needs that come up. Now, there is more demand, which gives you more freedom to go into new areas and innovate. And I’m not just talking about trying new things, but trying to improve best possible clothing at all times, being aware of what consumers want and give them solutions that are rich in quality and technology.

Right now, I don’t think we are more focused on fashion, but it is true that the big demand and the sports fashion market allow us to continue growing also in this branch of the sector. There can be collections focused purely on playing sports or more sports fashion collections.

There have been many experiences and have learned from them has been to help me understand and improve the needs that Joma has as a brand and the type of customer they are targeting. At the same time, I have learned to work out these needs with our suppliers and focus it towards the same direction.

The relationship that Joma has with its suppliers has not changed much; it could be said that it is the same as it has been since the beginning. The objective then and now is the search for a close collaboration between both of them allowing us to understand and improve the needs of one another.

At Joma, as in any other growing company, we are incorporating young people into our teams who bring fresh ideas. In mine in particularly, what we look for in them is creativity, a desire for new challenges, but applies in all jobs. There are times when, for whatever reason, things don’t go as you would like them to. But in the end, if you enjoy the work you’re doing, all that is water under the bridge.

In fact, although new suppliers have obviously been incorporated, we also continue working with others who have been with Joma almost since the beginning.

The most satisfying is and will be to live and be part of the growth of the company. Seeing how Joma has positioned itself year after year as one of the best sportswear brands in the world will always be a source of pride. Nor can I forget the great thrill it gives me to provide clothing for great athletes and federations, and at the same time receive recognition for our work.
