OUR BUS DRIVERS ROCK! October 21 - 25 was Bus Driver Appreciation Week! Our bus drivers were treated to some "goodies" throughout the week including cookies, a cookout, a surprise, more goodies and Mugshots coffee! Thank you for all you do getting our students to and from school safely! (Check out the pictures from their 4th annual Trunk or Treat!)

Mrs. Criger’s class at West Ward went to Briarwood Assisted Living Center to read to the residents. Classes take turns visiting every 2 weeks.

Elementary students were able to use our awesome Aquatic Center for swim lessons.

SchoolMessenger will be our new notification system for parents and staff regarding school closings, delays and other information. We hope to have it up and running by the end of the month. Stay tuned for more details!


Fieldtrip fun!

Pine Trails and West Ward 4th and 5th Graders went to a K-Wings hockey game.

The High School Family Consumer Science class loved traveling to Crane's Orchard, picking apples, and making pies!

9th graders are going on employer tours. An Alternative High School group visited Kent County Waste to Energy and B&G Custom Works.


When play and learning are mixed together, smiles happen!

Allegan Public Schools’ Bigs in Business Program has officially kicked off! Some of Alternative and High School students are matched with a mentor from Perrigo. Double the matches means double the support and connections between school and community.


West Ward Kindergartners enjoyed a visit from Gobles Pine Grove Fire Department.

Book Study!

North Ward staff is participating in a book study outside of their regular workday.

North Ward students and staff participated in a little community building fun. They were on a mission to solve a mystery. Everyone had fun getting in on the action.


West Ward students enjoyed a fun time exploring downtown.

Congratulations to our first GED graduate this school year. Way to go, Allison! Best wishes down the road.

Above, Kindergarten students in Mrs. Sluiter's class had strong opinions on what she should be for Halloween. Students suggestions everything from a princess to Pennywise.

Assessing learning doesn’t always have to be a test. Alternative High School geometry students are demonstrating their learning by building a city! A few are even utilizing our 3D printer to bring it to life.

Wellness Initiative!

It's not too late to get moving with this initiative. This month's challenge is to move more. Get in on the action! You can get 5 extra wellness points if you participate in the Allegan Ugly Sweater 5k!

Tuned In! We are so proud of our Allegan High School Marching Band, who had a great season! Unfortunately, they did not make it to State. Thank you to the students who worked extremely hard.


Halloween Fun Around the District!


Trunk or Treat!

The weather did not stop the bus drivers from hosting their 4th annual Trunk or Treat! The drivers had a contest for best booth and over 500 children got Halloween treats!



Murder Mystery

The Ed Foundation sponsored a murder mystery dinner on November 1 and 2. Proceeds will go towards teacher mini grants and scholarships for APS seniors going into education. A fun time was had by all!
