GOOD THINGS AT APS Well, Punxsutawney Phil predicts an early spring. But we all know Michigan Michigan does it's own thing. Here's hoping he's right!

Congrats to the the Men of Chamber Choir and their Division 1 rating at MSVMA Solo & Ensemble this past Saturday at GVSU. Members include Lucas Sauceda, Owen McClelland, Davis Meiser, Hunter Weeks, Jacob Durocher, Eli Leece, Thomas Langschied, & Izaak Schans.

Special Guests High school students from Mrs. Conrad’s Children’s Literature class visited Dawson to read to their kindergarten students.

Guy Louis visited North Ward to teach everyone how to be mindful. It was a fun and educational experience!

The 7th and 8th grade choirs along with the elementary TrebleMakers performed "Sleeping Beauty" on 1/24. It was a fabulous performance!


When play and learning are mixed together, smiles happen!

North Ward family groups practiced Habit 4 "Think Win Win"

The competitive cheer team celebrated their season high scores in Rounds 2 & 3 and highest overall score.

Dawson students helped raise over $300 for the Allegan County Animal Shelter! Connecting with our community is one of our favorite things!

Mrs. Sluiter's kindergarten class at North Ward had a sight word snowball fight in class!

The Pine Trails pool party was a great success! Thank you for everyone that joined us for the fun. Ms. Koens did all the fun things she promised.

Second graders at North Ward were analyzing different materials and then built a house using those materials to withstand a wind storm.

Ellen Kavanagh and Allison Radke came from HS Student Leaders and read to Mrs. Marlett’s kindergarten class at North Ward, “Oh The Places You Will Go” and did a writing activity with the class.


Tiger Pride

Fifth-graders around the district were able to take to the slopes for a day of skiing at Timber Ridge Ski Resort.

Mrs. Hammon’s 2nd graders and Mrs.Heeres/Mrs. Meade’s kindergarteners partnered up to do some reading. Much fun was had by all!

Allegan Alternative's ProjectBased Engineering Class built underwater robots and took a trip to the AHS pool to test them out!


North Ward 3rd Graders enjoyed some "book tasting."

The L.E. Links program hosted a bake sale during parent-teacher conferences. YUM!

Thank you to all the students, staff, and community members as well as the Red Cross for helping AAHS exceed their goal! We saved a lot of lives with their blood drive and are on their way to earning a Senior Scholarship. Special thanks to Jennifer Turner Hamman for organizing the Blood Drive. #soarwitheagles

What could be better than one of the Bowling teams winning a Baker Bash? Two, of course. Congratulations to both the boys and girls teams for winning the Baker Bash at South Haven.

Author Jason Reynolds was just named Library of Congress’ National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. A few years ago all AAHS students read his novel "All American Boys" and a few of them got to hear him speak and meet him.


Schaendorf Brewing Company hosted AEA teachers on December 18th to a brewery tour.
