ACADEMICS SPRING 2024
Ohio Wesleyan University baseball utilizes the several resources we have on campus to set and maintain high-academic standards.
Every semester, players meet with the coaching staff afer completing progress reports with their professors. All first-year players in the baseball program attend weekly study tables with a member of the coaching staff.
Academics are a top priority in the OWU program for our players, with the understanding that earning and Ohio Wesleyan University degree in four years is the ultimate goal.
In 2022, four-year starting outfielder Davis Graham earned the Dr. Rich Gordin award, the highest cumulative grade point average among male student-athletes.

CAMPUS & COMMUNITY
Ohio Wesleyan fielded its first intercollegiate baseball team in 1889.
Afer signing a professional baseball contract in 1903 and thus becoming ineligible to continue his collegiate playing career, Branch Rickey became Ohio Wesleyan’s baseball coach.
Over 100 years later, OWU continues to carry on this strong tradition with 18 NCAA Tournament appearances, 10 NCAC titles and 23 players moving on to professional baseball.
