Jordan Hedlund Arch 3351 AutoCAD 1 Prof. Darin Duch Final Building Research Nordic Pavilion, Sverre Fehn The building I have chosen for the final project is a building (pavilion) designed by Norwegian architect Sverre Fehn for the Venice Biennial in 1962. Fehn designed this pavilion to represent Sweden, Finland, and Norway, and to create a lighted spaces Venetians were not used to. Since inhabitants of the city’s islands are constantly being bombarded by refracted light off of the water, the pavilion created spaces with softened light. What intrigued me about this project is the elegance and simplicity of it. I believe that distilling complex concepts into physical objects is a very cool idea. Fehn was also one of the leading developers of modern architecture that he would then apply to Nordic farms.
