Words & Photos: Jordan Merrett Although they may be brand spanking new to the scene, LA Sunday have burst out onto it! As far as crowd pleasing indie bands go, they sure know how to rock; their set at Rock Night at The Joiners Arms, Lincoln really caused a stir and considering their current releases are lo-fi bedroom indie-pop, they apparently ‘rocked up’ their set especially for the occasion.

The band formed in early 2020 and have already amassed over one hudred thousand streams on all of their songs on Spotify, “I don’t know how it’s happened” remarked Lloyd, Lead Singer, who is clearly very humble about their online success. Despite their audience’s approval of their current tracks, Lloyd said “We haven’t got alot out right now, and what we’ve got out doesn’t represent LA Sunday.” The cool, collected frontman, told us they’re planning to release alot more and they’re continuing to record it themselves with a little help from producers to record live drums to make the tracks “raw and authentic.” L.A. Sunday have a new single coming out soon called 9AM which will implement their new production mantra and drive closer to the raw and authentic sound that they’re pushing for.
When talking about his own music on recordings, the singer and guitarist said you have to overcome the fact that you might not like how you sound saying that when he first heard himself on recordings he thought “I don’t like that because that sounds too much like me... but that’s fine!”

At their live shows LA Sunday have built up a huge loyal, local fanbase, when questioned about how they’ve achieved this Lloyd said “being friendly is the most important thing” referencing that if people like you they will come and watch your band. “Play as much as possible” was another factor that he thinks has built their following.
