EXPERIENCE 2017 – 2020 Nike European Headquarters With many years working as a designer in the sports industry, my next challenge was working at Nike EHQ, Hilversum. Originally, I was brought in to develop the ever-growing digital Nike App, for the launch in June 2017. After a successful launch my priorities were to oversee all app design within Europe, whilst maintaining a very high standard of digital production and execution. As well as designing content, I also approved creative from our key cities in EMEA, making sure it was always within the brand guidelines across all categories. My role as a digital designer required a solid understanding of visual design principles that could tell one story across multiple applications, keeping the same look and feel throughout. This lead to many seasons of successful campaigns for the broad range of categories I worked on.

“ Designers, stop designing for yesterday’s planet. he challenge for designers is to start thinking T about how we can integrate sustainability into every project we do and not only change consumer behaviour for the better, but also offer digital services they can feel good about, knowing the environmental impact has also been considered. Consumers are sending unprecedented signals that they expect brands to address sustainability. ith an open mind, there are countless W solutions that designers can discover. So, what else could teams be doing to bring sustainability into your next project?”

Plastic Britain On Our Watch

In collaboration with Outpost Pictures. I was approached to create typography for the feature length environmental documentary, Plastic Britain. It was a chance to take a step back and contribute what I have to offer to do small bit in looking after the environment and sharing the plastic crisis we are currently facing. Plastic Britain is due to release early 2020, and will be available at film festivals, television channels and streaming services such as Netflix.

“PLASTIC BRITAIN: ON OUR WATCH is a feature length environmental documentary that explores the impact plastic pollution is having on Britain. It focuses on how plastic affects our coastlines, rivers, oceans, human health and within our own homes. The film will explore how we have reached the point where plastics are now found in onethird of UK caught fish, our rivers have the highest levels of micro plastics of anywhere in the world, and the spectre of plastic pollution is leaking into our drinking water. So what does this really mean for Britain - for us?

Carbon Theory I’ve worked with Carbon Theory since 2017, being involved from the initial concept to execution of all printed products worldwide. We have developed 6 products with more to come in the future.

“Powerful natural ingredients charcoal and tea tree oil combined will transform oily and blemish-prone skin.

Carbon Theory has been hailed as a ‘miracle soap’ by many influencers, fashion and beauty, gossip websites and customers. They have now expanded it’s reach with stores all over the UK, USA and Australia.

We can’t promise to change your life, but if oily, problem skin is getting you down, then we can help with that.

You might even want to skip foundation, dial down or delete your Facetune app.

Word of mouth is real: and nothing makes us happier than sharing our Carbon Theory success stories.”

Déjà Vu French, “already seen”, is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced has already been experienced in the past. The brief was to photograph 50 words or phrases using a disposable camera. We were then given the task to respond to the brief in our own way. I chose to go back to the locations to see how they have differed and changed from when I first visited them. Various photographs have now been published in different photography editorials.

Photography, ISL Icelandic Elements by Jordan Carr (2014) I get a huge thrill and sense of excitement when exploring new landscapes, especially those as extreme and diverse as Iceland. I wanted to capture the beauty of the isolated, barren land, in particular looking at water and how it shapes the striking and dramatic environment. From the iceage shaped mountain peaks to the valleys carved by glaciers and water ways. All photographs taken on a 1964 Pentax Spotmatic.. Submission for FOAM Talent Call 2017.

Photography, NOR A Long Way Home by Jordan Carr (2016) A cycle tour through the alluring mountains and fjords of Norway. We cycled for a month through west Norway on roads following rivers and hugging fjord sides. This project looks at the different stages of water, comparing the tranquil soothing lakes with the aggressive and immense force of waterfalls. I also wanted to represent the start and end of a journey. With winding baron roads ended with a eye-soaring man-made structure.

All photographs taken on a 1964 Pentax Spotmatic. Submission for FOAM Talent Call 2017.
