CASA NEXO PROJECT: RESIDENTIAL (Single Family Housing) LOCATION: QUERETARO, MEXICO DATE: FALL 2013
04
CASA NEXO is a residential project specifically developed to meet the client’s needs and lifestyle. The approach was to analyze and gather information from the desired site in order to create an architectural project considering basic structural knowledge and possibilities in the traditional contemporary mexican house. The result is a three story house that gives every private room the view the location offers. The house keeps an “open and connected” concept with a central courtyard / patio that brings light and fresh air to all areas of the house.

Q COMPLEX Work with: Guillermo Caracheo
PROJECT: RESIDENTIAL (Collective Housing) LOCATION: QUERETARO, MEXICO DATE: SPRING 2014
06
Q COMPLEX is a collective housing complex that offers the flexibility of a high rise one story apartment or a two story townhome configuration. Located in the souther side of Queretaro City, the project contains 20 townhomes and three pairs of apartment buildings . The project is planned to provide parking for the residents and for visitors. The program takes advantage of the sloping site and open space to give the tenants a recreational area, that disconnects them from the busy lifestyle of the city and engage them in different activities.
07
C CULTURAL Work with: Yetzi Tafoya, Karla Casas
PROJECT: CULTURAL CENTER LOCATION: QUERETARO, MEXICO DATE: FALL 2014
C CULTURAL is based on the idea of bringing the community together by a cultural program in Av. Felipe Angeles. It brings together a segregated society based on the interests, ages and needs. The project involves different cultural activities for many social groups and offers the users a cultural center with a library, cafe, gallery space, classrooms, working / studying areas and plazas open to the street. The combination of materials, bioclimatic design, passive and active systems, make the building an environmentally friendly construction.

16
351 CULTURAL PLATFORM Is a concept driven project that focuses on the transformation of cultures. The intent is to show a part of the transformation and be an active part of the transformation of today’s culture. The transformation and enrichment of cultures has been happening since the first humans started roaming the Earth. The transformation has been facilitated by the interconection of people and places. The project is based in Africa, the same place where the oldest human bones were found. This brings us back to where it all started in a concept that looks to the past, present and future. 17

VENTURA ARTS CENTER Work with: Nick Foley, Jose Quintero
PROJECT: MIXED USE ARTS CENTER(Integrated design Studio) LOCATION: VENTURA, CALIFORNIA DATE: WINTER 2016
22
The city of Ventura was separate from one of its most important assests when the Route 101 was construdted between the city and the sea. VENTURA ARTS CENTER was envisioned as a multipurpose project where the interdisciplinary team defined a set of goals that would be achieved byt he project. Connect the city to the sea, revitalize the area and bring new life, promote culture and social integration, create and icon for the city and create new business opportunities. The project proposes the “creation of new land by building over the freeway. The project combines new and existing elements to connect the city and the sea witht the goal of forgetting the great divider underneath . 23
CIRCULATION
ACCESSIBILITY
CONNECTIVITY
The existing circulation is a design constraint and an opportunity that shapes where the building can have a more open connection to the city.
The multiple access points in the project help a more varied and constant flow of users in and out of the building. The possibility of closing any access point when the building is not in use helps mantain the project clean and safe.
The connectivity to different parts of the city is achieved through the opnenings found on California Street and Thompson Blvd, and elements ike the Ventura View Line.

The project takes advantage of the onramp (Ventura View Line) that goes through the site and by making it pedestrian and bike friedly it reaches out to the pier and creates a visual connection with the surroundings than can be phisically achieved.
INTERIOR (MUSEUM)
The addition of natural light to the museum happens with a customized roof that resembles the wave movement and indirectly gets natural light in the museum. Nautral ventilation utilizes the same systme where the hot air is pushed to the exterior through the controled openings of the roof.

The museum has an exhibition of the city on the first floor and combines some art exhibistions on both floor, where the surf exhibitions is located only on the second floor, where the sea can be appreciated along the museum’s edge.
EXTERIOR PLAZA (MUSEUM)
A solar protection sorrounds the museum area since it has to mantain direct sunlight out but allows for the visitors inside to look at the sorroundings. The protection helps make the venue an icon when the light illuminates the different hanging colored panels. EXTERIOR RETAIL PLAZA
