Using School Web Lockers School WebLockers is a Convenient teacher productivity tool that has been around for a few years. Within your SWL account you have unlimited file storage that you can access from any computer with an internet connection. It also uses digital drop boxes to connect you and your students so that work can be handed out and collected effortlessly and paper-free. You can even collect a paper, mark up the electronic copy, and send it back with changes or corrections. Your students will love it, and they’ll find that they don’t need any excuses; their work is organized!

Organizing Your Account First you’ll want to decide how you would like to organize your files. If you teach different levels/subjects, then this makes sense for you. If it’s different units, schools, novels, etc. that you’re uploading, create folders to reflect this. Blogger is the number one blog site in the world. There are many blog sites to choose from, and some are more geared to education, but blogger has the easiest set up I know, is free for all users (including the domain), and, best of all, it’s part of the Google megasuite of products and services we are going to explore.
What is it?
Blogger is a tool that makes it easy to instantly publish weblogs or “blogs”-simple web pages, often made up of short, informal, and frequently updated posts. Blogger makes it easy to create blogs, post text and pictures, and start generating feedback. It’s the perfect place to display student work in an environment that serves as an extension of your classroom. There’s no end to the kinds of posts you may wish to assign to your students. For students, the best part is sharing posts with the class and getting feedback from their peers. It’s easy to start your own blogspot.

My blogs are always set up so that only authors of the blog can view, post and make comments on the blog. You can add parents as readers if you wish, but don’t allow others to comment.

You can upload existing files from most formats like Word, Excel, PDF etc. . and instantly turn them into editable, collaborative works in progress. You can gather data and information from students by making a Form in Google Docs.

spreadsheet where you can slice/dice/ analyze/chart/graph or whatever. To create a survey, inside Google Docs go to New then click on Form. The question types are intuitive, so you can play with them and create a professional survey in minutes. It can then be linked to or embedded in a website to promote your survey to your readers.
