Miss Jeannette Rivera Miss Jeannette is 51 years old and has a daughter, who is an engineer, and a son, who is studying at University in Santiago. 1. Where are you from? “I’m from Vadivia. Barrio tradicional” 2. Where did you study? “Austral University, in Valdivia” “I finished my studies there in 1988” 3. Do you have any degree? “No. I just have a teacher degree” 4. Why did you decide to study English pedagogy? “Because it was the only thing I could study due to my PSU points” “what I wanted was to study to became a secretary” 5. What are your expectations on the students? “I want them to be responsible and learn something. I want them to dream that they can have a better life” 6. How many years have you been teaching? “I’ve been teaching for 27 years.” 7. How many years have you been teaching at Bosque Nativo School? “Nine years” 8. In how many places have you taught? “I’ve taught in many schools because of moving. I’ve work only in private schools but this one” 9. What has been your best and worst experience teaching? “My best experience has been working in this school. Because, I’ve develop a strong feeling for students and its reciprocal.” “My worst experience was when I was teaching in a private school in Quilpue. A student didn’t accept a mark and together with his parents made an enormous riot because of that.” 10. What advice would you give to an English pedagogy student? “Teachers have to be patient and have personality to overcome difficulties.” 11. Would you like to continue studying or to do a course? “I don’t want to continue studying. I know enough to teach, because English is repetitive when teaching in a school.”
