you,” Morris said. “So why would you want employees? We have team members. That seems to make us efficient. This is not a threatening atmosphere. This is like a sanctuary. When you come in here for eight hours, you’re among friends. People care about you, and you’re safe.
“There’s no question about it,” he continued. “You have to share the wealth. Making money, you have to do that, and when we first started, that’s what we did. But you have to share the success, and there is no question that it comes back to you tenfold.”

Withrow said he abstains from such joy, attributing it to trying to eat healthier. “I usually make myself a chicken fajita salad or a turkey sandwich,” he said. “I only have a cheeseburger once every couple of weeks because I have a cholesterol problem, but that makes them taste even better when I get to eat one. As for sticking around, Withrow said he and his partner, ages 62 and 63 respectively, had no plans for hanging up their spatulas any time soon. “We may back off a little bit and let the girls handle a little more,” he said. “But I don’t know how long we’ll do it. I enjoy it. I enjoy coming here every day, and I just want to thank the people of Muskogee for giving us this honor.”
