CTMS YEARBOOK 2020-2021

Page 1

The theme chosen for the 2020-2021 Centennial Yearbook is "Putting Pieces Together". This theme was chosen because despite 2020 being a broken puzzle, the Wolf Pack persevered. Day by day, we picked up each piece as new challenges arose. Each new challenge presented an opportunity to get back up. We are now stronger than ever before. LET'S GO WOLVES!!!

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL 8

Wolfpack, 2020-2021 has been a school year you will never forget! Each of you has overcome challenges and will forever be changed. Over the course of this year, some of you have attended “On-Site Services”, “On-Site Learning”, “On-Line Learning”, and finally to return to “On-Site Learning”. Before this year, you may not have been acquainted with what technology can do, but now you have learned how to Zoom, attend and utilize break-out rooms, use Canvas, emails, create infographics, apply Clips, iMovie, Keynotes, and etc. One day in the future you will read this message and be reminded of all the experiences you had, and although it was difficult, what you have accomplished has developed you into the person you are today. I am so proud of all of you. The courage and resilience you have demonstrated will allow you to be whatever you want to be in your future. Whether you are going to high school or 8th grade next year, move forward with confidence and make us proud! Mrs. Coffeen

Be all you can be. Go drug-free. Be proud to be drug-free. Crack is whack. Don’t pass the glass. Don’t snort your life away.Drugs will cost you more than money. Getting wasted is a waste of time. Say nope to dope. Choose not to use. LSD is not for me. Meth is the REAL tooth fairy. Kick it before it kicks you. Life can take you higher than drugs. Life is a precious gift, don’t waste it on drugs. Choose to refuse. The more you use, the less you live. Be smart ― don’t start. It’s easier to stay off drugs than to get off drugs. D.E.A.D. spells out Drugs End All Dreams. You use, you lose.

TEACHERS OF THE YEAR

Q&A

Mrs. Littlewood - 8th Grade Science What inspired you to become a teacher? I always wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. I was fascinated with outer space, chemistry, and the earth around us. Teaching science to middle school students is inspiring because it is always changing. We get to do research, labs, activities, rap battles, presentations, and so much more. I believe that you never truly stop learning, even as you grow up to be an adult. Science challenges new ideas and the best part is that it pushes student’s curiosity. What motivates you to come to school each morning? I am motivated by my students, but not in the way that you think, though. I am inspired to come to work every day because I know my students are going to teach me something new. They are going to make me laugh just like I know that I am going to make them laugh. We sing together (or at least attempt to), we laugh together, we Tik Tok dance together, we play goofy games together, but most importantly I feel like we are a big family that can learn together. What’s your favorite quote? The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Albert Einstein What hobbies do you have? A few hobbies of mine are painting, bicycling, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, running, and long walks at the east/west wetlands. I love rocking out on the guitar, harmonica, or even the occasional bass.

Mr. Pina - 7th Grade Math What inspired you to become a teacher? One of the many inspirations of becoming a teacher is the passion to push people to become great. I believe that everyone has a talent and should be able to have the chance to show it to the world. What motivates you to come to school each morning? The fact that I am the students wild card and i have a chance to be that champion or role model for each student i come across each day. What’s your favorite quote? No days off. What hobbies do you have? Dancing is my favorite sport, But all sports mostly, I enjoy cooking, i enjoy fishing and spending time with my family.
