tigious restaurants, like Commander’s Palace & Restaurant August, with some of the most influential chefs. One of the primary driving forces of inspiration for Restaurant Iron is the changing of the seasons. What are your Future goals? We would love to grow and expand throughout the Gulf Coast area, but for right now, we are focusing on our current location.
Restaurant Iron
Alex McPhail - Head Chef When did you first open and who are the owners/head chef? We opened in 2012 at Marcus Pointe Golf Club with Alex McPhail as the head chef. In 2014, we moved to our current location in downtown Pensacola. As our location changed, our ownership evolved into a small group of local investors. How did you get into the business? We saw a need for a fine dining option at Marcus Pointe and were grateful to receive the attention of both the golf course community and Pensacola diners. We were excited to move to the downtown area, where we’ve had the opportunity to expand our menu and refine our selections. Where did you get the inspiration for your restaurant? Chef Alex worked in New Orleans for almost 7 years working at some of the most pres-
What makes your restaurant stand out among others? The execution of our food and our flawless teamwork leads to outstanding service. We focus on making sure everyone has a positive experience. What are your favorite specials? We have some great Happy Hour specials, but one of our favorites is our late night menu, served on Fridays and Saturday evenings starting at 10 PM. We love to have a little fun with our late night menu and include comfort food with a little twist.
What events do you regularly have or any special events for the month of November? While we don’t have any special events planned for the month of November, we will continue our Happy Hour and Late Night.

Perfect Plain
Pensacola Bay Brewery 225 Zaragoza St (850) 434-3353
Located in the heart of downtown PensacThe Fish House ola, our facility is the original location of Perfect Plain Brewing Company’s brewery 600 S Barracks St (850) 470-0003 and taproom. Designed to bring people together in a spacious, welcome environment, the taproom is a fully immersive experience with long communal tables and our entire 10-barrel brewhouse exposed within the gathering area. Portions of our building date back more than 75 years, and architectural signs of decades’ past have been preserved in our space. We completed our taproom with an expansive, dog friendly patio facing historic Garden Street. In 1764, when Garden Street was the northern border of Pensacola’s small downtown core, any resident who purchased land was given a companion parcel to use for a garden. To this day, the boundary lines of Perfect Plain’s space fits the original “Garden lot” dimensions.

Horseshoe Kitty
The Ultimate 90’s Rock Cover band was formed in late 2016 to pay homage to the last golden decade of guitar driven rock: the 1990’s. The goal was to assemble an all-star super group of seasoned players to give the genre its proper due. Each member of Horseshoe Kitty has clocked thousands of hours in both the studio and stage and have performed all over the Gulf Coast region .
Known for their ability to sound exactly like your favorite 90’s rock radio hits - Horseshoe Kitty specializes in replicating the studio recordings of the 90’s rock genre and beyond - bringing each hit back to life on stage in an authentic concert experience. Their attention to detail is the
reason why many are already referring to them as the Area’s premier 90’s rock cover band. “We don’t just go on stage and act the part,” mentions lead vocalist and founding member, Buddy Sea . “We are huge fans of 90’s rock. That passion and unbridled energy comes through in every Horseshoe Kitty show. It’s 100% sincere and it’s who we are.” It’s no holds barred, as Horseshoe Kitty combines a heavy dose of 90’s rock with an energetic, over the top, arena style show that is guaranteed to keep you singing song after song, all night long. One band, one mission. To spread the love of 90’s rock to the masses!

Bubba’s Sweet Spot When did you first open and who are the owners? Bubba’s Sweet Spot is a joint venture between PGA Tour golfer Bubba Watson and Quint and Rishy Studer. We opened up on Palafox Street in the heart of downtown Pensacola on July 1, 2016. Our goal is to help make Pensacola the greatest place in the world to live by providing visitors with a great experience one customer at a time. How did you get into the business? Bubba Watson and the Studers are committed to the revitalization of downtown Pensacola and they were looking to add a fun family friendly destination to compliment the expanding restaurant and retail scene. Once the idea of opening a candy and icecream shop was suggested everyone in-
stantly agreed it was the perfect fit. For Bubba is was particularly special because he had always wanted to start a candy store, and opening one in his hometown of Pensacola was truly a dream come true. Where did you get the inspiration for your store? Our team visited candy and ice cream stores all over the country looking for inspiration, but our goal wassimple. We wanted to build a place that kids would love while reminding adults that it is OK to have a little fun. The bright colors and stripes in the store are meant to convey a sense of fun. What are your future goals? We are always working to improve the store and constantly adding new and different products is part of our DNA. That commitment seems to resonate with our customers who have become very loyal since.

United States Navy
Blue Angels In 1946, the Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Chester Nimitz, had a vision to create a flight exhibition team in order to raise the public’s interest in naval aviation and boost Navy morale. In the 1940’s, we thrilled audiences with our precision combat maneuvers in the F6 Hellcat, the F8 Bearcat and the F9 Panther. During the 1950’s, we refined our demonstration with aerobatic maneuvers in the F9 Cougar and F-11 Tiger and introduced the first six-plane delta formation, still flown to this day. By the end of the 1960’s, we were flying the F-4 Phantom, the only two seat aircraft flown by the delta formation. In 1974, we transitioned to the A-4 Skyhawk, a smaller and lighter aircraft with a tighter turning radius allowing for a more dynamic flight demonstration. In 1986, we celebrated our 40th Anniversary by unveiling the Boeing F/A-18 Hornet, which we still fly to this day. In 1949, it became necessary for the Blue Angels to operate a support aircraft to move personnel and equipment between show sites. These support aircraft including the Douglas R4D Sky Train, the Curtiss R5C Commando, the Douglas R5D Skymaster, and the Lockheed C-121 Super Constellation. In 1970 the team received the Lockheed Martin C-130, affectionately known as “Fat Albert.”
