Quick Bio Getting to know the person behind the photo is always interesting for most, at least I think so anyway :) So, who am I? I am Ashley Patterson, a real estate agent with Precision Realty, a graduate from Saint Mary’s University (Honours in Psychology), I just celebrated my Dirty 30 (not as bad as I was anticipating, although I was pretty depressed for a week) a volunteer with several organizations, a friend to many, an only child for 23 years, a half sister to a beautiful little 6 year old girl and a cute little 3 year old boy, an only grand child on one side and the oldest of 10 on the other, I love love love my cat (she is the cutest), I lovvvvvve little dogs (eep!) and I am someone who is making an attempt to help our community by giving back to those in need. So, that’s me in a nutshell! Follow me on instagram @ashleypworksforyou, and Twitter @AshleyPHomes.
Throughout the winter months, charities and non-profit organizations such as shelters, churches, and animal rescue societies are in dire need of donations and monetary items to have on hand for those in need. They are in need all year round of course, but when the cold weather approaches us, they need all those extras to provide warmth for those in need. One non-profit association I spoke will filled me in on who they are, what they do, who they help, and who/what they rely on for income.
“
Metro Non-Profit Housing Association is a private, charitable organization that provides permanent, secure housing and support to low income, single individuals. Our mission is to assist folks to create and maintain their homes. We operate a drop in centre, often called ‘the Coffee Shop’ on Gottingen Street, as well as housing over 75 tenants in our affordable housing units. Programmes we provide include cooking classes, support groups, and our Shining Lights Choir, which everyone is welcome to join! We are often in need of toiletries, winter accessories, and monetary donations to aid with operational costs” says Adam Craft, Housing Support Coordinator at Metro Non-Profit Housing Association. Follow them on twitter @ mnphousing or visit their website www.metrononprofithousing.ca
When clients purchase or sell their home with me, I pass them a closing gift when the property closes as a way of thanking them for their business, and to welcome them onto their next journey. Between October 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015 I have decided that, on my client’s behalf, I will donate $200.00 to a local charity of their choice! I love to give back when and where I can, and by offering this choice to my clients, it allows them to be a part of the heartfelt process! If you know of anyone buying or selling, I would love to help, all the while they can give back to our community!
Thinking Of Buying A Home? Not Sure Where To Start?
Ready To Move On To Your Next Or Forever Home?
That’s okay, you’re definitely not alone on that one! This is why I’m here, to help you and guide you through the process. It’s not as scary as it seems (although you may look like you’ve just seen a ghost when you see your hard earned savings vanished from your bank account on closing day ;) But that is okay, because you have saved to invest in YOUR future! I have a step by step Home Buying Guide for all of my buyers (and of course a step by step Home Selling Guide for my sellers :)
If you have been thinking of selling and would like more information on my marketing strategy, contact me at anytime. I offer a Complimentary Market Analysis of your home, which determines a dollar range where if we were to list your home today, this is what it would list for.
If you have been considering purchasing a home, there are somethings you should consider and steps you need to take to make sure you’re ready. First and foremost I advise all my clients to speak with a mortgage broker, they work with several, and different levels of, lenders and are able to tell you what amount you are pre approved for, where YOU can then decide what you’re actually comfortable with as a purchase price. DON’T FORGET: Make sure you account for all of your monthly expenses and of course take into consideration that you’ll want to build that savings account back up for home maintenance and emergencies! No one wants to be “house poor” so following these guidelines will help you to make the smart and right choice when it comes to purchasing a home. I won’t get into all the other steps yet, but if you would like more information on how to purchase your first or next home, I am a phone call, text message or email away!
Concerned about the market? Well, in all honesty the number of sales and new home starts are down from last year, but I always say, “Your home can not sell if it is not for sale, and THERE IS a buyer for every home!” You just need to be sure that your home, in comparison to those around you is priced right and is ‘Show Ready’ for those house hunters! Feel free to call me at anytime for more information on how to get your home SOLD!

ENDURANCE EXCELLENCE ENTERTAINMENT The Last Of The Old Kind is a culture of those who respect the past, embrace the future and live in the now. The Last Of The Old Kind represents the quality of the past, with the efficiency of the future. We turn our back on over consumption and planned obsolescence. We will not plague the cities we operate in with cheap gym bags or junk clothing that are destined for the landfill. We are the ambassadors of the Atlantic, and we are here for the long haul.

Holiday Dress GUIDE

The Little Black Dress NastyGal $87
The Maxi Dress NastyGal $132

Lets be honest, no one enjoys holiday shopping. Yes, we all love to be giving and to make people smile and to give amazing gifts, but the process of doing so can be extremely stressful. Now that the holiday season is upon us and the malls have become filled with frantic shoppers trying to get their gift shopping done early, we all need to be proactive and plan the most important part – our outfits. So, lets take a minute and talk about YOU! What will you be wearing this holiday season? I’ve decided to make your outfit planning much easier this year, and since we’re being proactive, I would highly recommend you check out NastyGal.com/the best shopping site ever. **NOTE: please be advised that there are hundreds of amazing items on this website, and I am not responsible if you blow your most recent paycheque on said amazing items** I’ve decided to pick some of the most stylish and eye catching dresses that are perfect for the upcoming holiday season and divided them into eight categories: 1) The Shift Dress – a great dress for any occasion especially if you’re bloated or plan on eating lots of food! 2) The Little Black Dress (LBD) – a dress for all girls because black is thinning, and also the sparkle in this fabric adds a little fun to your outfit. The deep v is also super on trend! 3) The Maxi Dress – few people tend to opt for a maxi dress during the winter, but Rihanna was spotted in this beauty, so that’s a no brainer. 4) The Backless Dress – This is a very classy way to be sexy, and the oxblood color is perfect for this time of year. Also sequins are fun. 5) The Lace Dress – This is a great dress that shows off some skin but not too much. It’s a classic style that can be very timeless, but probably wouldn’t recommend it for church or going to Grandma’s. 6) The Sequin Party Dress – the sequins on this dress are so flashy it makes me want to dance. You’ll be the life of the party this holiday season!
The Backless Dress NastyGal $110
The Lace Dress NastyGal $222
The Sequin Party Dress NastyGal $76

7. A Bottle of Nova Scotia Wine – Everyone loves wine, especially when it’s local! Whether it’s for themselves or to have when guests come over, red, white or sparkling wine is an essential for all households. Lobster! – If anything is for sure, it’s that most Nova Scotians LOVE their lobster! This year, pick up a few pounds or a box of lobster for your next holiday family gathering from Clearwater or any
local grocery store. It’s the gift that goes a long way; just make sure you have lobster crackers! 5. East Coast Lifestyle – Still one of Halifax’s hottest brands, East Coast Lifestyle has tons of great items that are mostly made right here in Nova Scotia. They have great stocking stuffers such as bracelets, socks and toques! They also have a wide selection of sweaters, tank tops and tees. 4. Give it as a gift or bring it to a holiday party and share amongst friends and family! What better way to spread holiday cheer than that?! 3. You Know you’re From Nova Scotia When coffee table book – his hilarious, and oh-so-true coffee table book by Michael Adder is a must-have for any Halifax or Nova Scotian home and can be purchased online and at most book stores! It’s also a great book to send someone who is from Nova Scotia but lives elsewhere. 2. Coffee Themed Gift – With a cold and wet winter ahead, give a gift that will keep you warm and alert! Head to Uncommon grounds, Just Us! or Steve-o-Reno’s for mugs, coffee beans or gift cards! 1. Nova Scotia Tartan – Whether it’s a scarf, shirt, hat, gloves or blanket, most Nova Scotians love their plaid. This year, give a plaid-themed gift to a proud Nova Scotian!
