healthy living
Healthy Living BY RICKY GOODALL
detrimental to our goals and slow progress. In training our bodies are naturally stressed so further release of cortisol occurs and can add to the already high levels that may be present from our lifestyle. To combat excess cortisol release and to reduce stress consume 500-1000mg of Vitamin C immediately after your workout. This will lower cortisol levels and aid in healthy body composition and recovery. This combined with regular stress-reducing practices will ensure maximum progress and reaching of goals. -Ricky Goodall Pro MMA Fighter & Certified Nutrition Coach Collision Sports (902) 452-9260 (888) 930-5742 (toll free) ricky@collisionsports.ca http://www.collisionsports.ca
Can stress affect progress in the gym? Stress can affect our life in many ways, one of these being our progress in the gym. Stress releases the hormone cortisol which can break down muscle tissue and increase belly fat storage which can be
Looking to gain muscle, lose fat or eat for performance? Certified Nutrition Coach Ricky Goodall is accepting new clients and offering no set up fee and no tax for the month of October. fun horoscopes
Horoscopes
TAURUS It is quite a challenge to find a balance at your work and with family these days, and people you are close to seem to take a lot of space.
Birthdays this month 18 | Faces Magazine | October 2013
ANDREW
SCORPIO You start the month with a tremendous motivation to investigate something that has been weighing on you for some time. It’s amazing what you will dig up.
GEMINI You start the month with a new determination to get organized and work and investigate anything that prevents the smooth flow of information.
PAT
SAGITTARIUS People you are close to move into pastures new where it is difficult to be in contact. Nevertheless you feel in contact, even though communication is sparse.
CANCER You’d like to be generous but the reality is that there are certain restrictions on creative developments right now. Find a balance or make a change.
SWAN
CAPRICORN More people seem to be connecting with you and coming into your sphere of social contacts. You are the pillar around which people gather.
LEO You are full of energy and oomph but there are domestic issues that dampen your mood. You have to negotiate a diplomatic path to avoid giving offence.
JORDAN
AQUARIUS People you meet now are charismatic but rather full of themselves, which hardly impresses you. But you keep your thoughts to yourself.
VIRGO You have a secret agenda to pursue this month and keep yourself very much to yourself. Communication is loaded and there is more to things than meets the eye.
AMANDA
PISCES It seems like big egos fill the workspace at a time when you are far more interested in starting a private quest to dig up secrets and insights.
LIBRA There is a rich social agenda this month, but friends can be a bit dominating and full of themselves. You are diplomatic, but not too happy about the situation.
ANA
ARIES You feel everything that much more strongly this month and energize your surroundings with charisma and charm, even though some people are difficult to cheer up.

AGE I’m 23 and a massive nerd. ZODIAC SIGN Cancer OCCUPATION I work part time at the hospital, do promos on the odd weekend, and run a small costume and prop building company as well as go to school full time. LIKES I like video games, crafting, piano, the shooting range, action movies, cosplay and long walks on the beach DISLIKES I’ve got a pretty strong dislike for seafood, people that talk or in theaters and celery. Awful stuff.
HOBBIES In my spare time I cook, go to the gym, watch It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia or sing along loudly to show tunes, but a majority of my spare time goes into crafting stuff for costume commissions. Cosplay is probably my one big hobby right now. LOTTERY A majority of it, probably 80%, would go into an RRSP or a high-interest savings account of some sort. Put part of the rest as a down payment on a mortgage, and then immediately nerd out with the rest and indulge on useless but awesome crap and travelling.

CELEB DATE ... I’ll be honest, I’m torn between Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Olivia Thirbly. I think they’d need to lip synch off or something, and it’d probably be skydiving or something ridiculous. I wouldn’t even want it to be a date, I’d just want to hang out for a while because, well, they’re pretty awesome. And who can say they’ve been skydiving with Joseph Gordon-Levitt? ON AN IDEAL DATE That one’s hard, you can make a movie night in with junk food great with the right person! I guess if I’m just meeting someone, probably something cliche like dinner and a walk down to the waterfront or a movie.
AGE 19 (20 on oct 13) ZODIAC SIGN libra OCCUPATION modeling and retail LIKES beer, shoes, good music DISLIKES spiders, snakes, feet HOBBIES shopping, waterskiing,
seadooing, social events
back rider
LOTTERY I’d buy a house in Florida
DREAM JOB nurse
ON AN IDEAL DATE more of a casual setting, there’s less pressure that way and easier to be yourself and just have fun. HIDDEN TALENT I’m a very good horse
CELEB DATE Channing Tatum GUILTY PLEASURES American Dad and junk food WHAT YOU LOOK SEXIEST IN? Heels and a hot dress
life to the fullest “ Live have fun but always remember what’s important
