Joy to Life Foundation. Coach Reginald Hollis explained why. “We were looking for an impactful community service initiative, so we decided to do a game dedicated to a cause,” he said. “When we started researching who the

game should benefit, I had breast cancer in mind, because I had a friend who went through that. And since the Joy to Life Foundation is based locally and its big event, the Walk of Life, happens during our season, it was a natural fit.” Tuskegee plays its home games in Montgomery, so they already have strong ties to the community. Scheduling a themed game also helps the team garner the interest of students and encourages them to make the drive to Montgomery to root the boys on. Plus, the players love wearing pink. “They love putting a spin on their uniforms,” Hollis said. “And they were tired of the football team always getting to do pink since its season coincides with national breast cancer awareness month in October.”
