Miniable variable prototype test the hypothesis.
Noise Reduction from Source The test showed the attached fan can only add on to noise as it created the turbulent inside. We changed the separated fan system to the opposite direction ; at the same time, maintained the enough heat release.

The turbulent was generated as the cold air entered, which would hit the warm air inside and create the high-pitch noise.

Smooth Taste with Less Bubbles Too many bubbles could lead to the poor smoothness of drinks, the slopes

inside the container would keep the air from water, which could hold the smoothness in taste.
Experiment Method :
Applied 3 different slopes to see the sizes of bubbles after operating with max speed.
Use flour-water mix to simulate food mixture.

Blade to Adjust Particles Based on different types of drinks, not always the smoother the better. How to make two blending results with just one blade ?
Experiment Method :
Applied 20mm, 10mm, 5mm clay ball with
different width blades, to get the pieces of particle.
TEST RESAULT : Clay balls did not be fully broken up by wider blade, which means we can use
reverse direction to hold some particles Blades for trials.

The blender can bring us the ability to live a healthy life. We focused on the features of the high speed blender which is noise canceling, taste enhancement and smooth usability. We have completed this minimalist style blender through the color segmentation to reduce the cumbersome of the fuselarge. Therefore, it creates the balance between the blender’s usability and aesthetic.

We redesigned a clearer interface layout, replaced traditional buttons with the turning knob to make the using process more instinct and convenient.

Smooth Taste Magic 正反轉刀片與導流設計 With the 360 dimension spoiler, the number of bubble decreases, which makes the drinks smoother. But when you still want some flavor of solid food residue, the reversed knife can break the food with wider face and keep some ungrinded particles.

As we emphasized the refinement of blender from various aspects, we removed the frightening noise, brought smoothness and diversity to food taste, made it harmonized in any places. Above all, the only purpose was to create a good experience to users !
Product Operation The beutiful blender is soaking into our life. We focused on the features of the portable blender which is portability and easy to use.
Reflection_ 精實產品研發也是有缺點的?
The Lean Product Development is a compact design method to evaluate and make the nessary decisions, which is a good way for company to reposition their original product and make it stand out from the other competitors. But this method still exists some shortcomings, such as the well-organized procedure may lead to a stubborn mindset and inelastic design time point; the miniable variable and cost-saving test may of no effect as the experiment is not accurate enough.

# MATERIAL & FINISH As different syllables present the sense of class, we choose different types of wood to array in a gradiental order. 利用木頭深淺漸層的材質質感,表達音由低到高的音階。
Product Making & Concept Film We use the cutting slots to make wood different pitched sound, just like how the Xylophone works. 利用切出分隔的狹縫,分出因不同長度呈現高低音調的效果,同 時維持砧板相同寬度。
We dyed the cutting board according to the pitch, which makes user feel playful and enjoy the sound during cooking.

Reflection_ 利用木頭材質特性,產生物理不同音調高低而非電子音樂效果, 是我最喜歡這個產品的原因。
At first we could only think about the electrical music to arouse the auditory stimulation, it was not easy to reach the concept of xylophone and chopping board. With the natural relationship between wood length and sound percussion, we were able to make the food preparation more enjoyable and musical.

Prototyping_ 我們進行三個主要設計方向的小型草模,最後決 定以沙創造自然流動感,作為最後的設計主體。
Experiment_ " 實驗,為了複製出自然狀態下的砂型態變化。" 流動中的砂,而經過一些時間的累積而形成散佈山形,這樣連續的景象變化,在自然的狀態下是很容易 複製的,但是若要把砂的型態轉換,用人造物件去再現,並非易事。

Prototype 2.0_ We choose the residential lamp as main object, for better present the transformation of sand and the lighting effect on sand. Basic geometry shape of light shade and transparent material make sand the leading role of product interation. 我 們 選 擇 燈 具 作 為 設 計 雛 形, 垂 直 呈 現 砂 的 型 態 轉 換、 光 線 照 射 沙 丘 的 效 果, 簡 單 純 粹 的 幾 何 作 為 造 型 本 體、 材 質 選 擇 透 明 玻 璃 燈 罩, 弱 化 造 型 上的視覺重量,讓沙成為産品的互動主角。

Product Intro_ When the task is repeated and simple, our brain will recover from the stress. Sphère brings behavior into our lives. The leading role, sand, is from nature and stands for the metaphor of time. Each moment was unique and the feature of ceaseless change gave people enough fasination to keep interacting with Sphère.
Product Visual Stimuli & Details_ Visual Change As people start to move the lighting shade, the sand would go down to make moutains, when time goes by, the bulb would be lit up to present the scene of contrast shadow of calmness.
Product & Lighting Details The operation of Sphère was based on the mechanical sand view replication, which combined several rotating objects to trigger the interaction. Light bulb was tilted from 145 degrees to show the most obvious and beautiful shadow.

Reflection_ 動手做,就是想法突破的時候 Remember the time our minds got stuck, and are too afraid to make decisions. We abandoned worries and went to children playground to touch and play with actual sand. There appeared a moment we would never thought of before if we did not visit the place. A relief of sand particles meaned everything to both of us. And the ideas started to explode our brains. 設計師如何與工程師合作無間 The slow-start effect circuit was the main electrical technique for lamp. During the cooperation period, I need to reach a certain understanding of the existing technology and considerate the feasibility and conceptuality. Every engineer has a certain procedure and logic, that's why designer should have a more conceptual view of product to fulfill materialization or extensibility. 製程上的經驗學習 Every component of lamp was produced by factories and assemblied by ourselves. We kept observed problems such as the uneven light shade, not enough screw holes. Thanks to those who were willing to help us and teach us some material limitations or manufactural concerns. Sphère was not possible to complete without them.

HOW ? Thanks to every professionals we have consulted, we were able to process the chair with different method included :
Firing, Bending, Chopping, Tearing, and Weaving. 我們運用了燒製、火烤彎管、劈竹、刨削、編織收邊等加工方法製作。

Find a proper bamboo with only 1 joint.

Heat and bend it to designed angle.

Cut and open it a half, then a half, then a half, then a half, ...until each of it is about 2mm thick, and you need to prepare almost 500 of this thin bamboo. 其中最繁複的工作,就是將竹子反覆刨削成適合編織的厚度及寬度,數量要將近 500條細竹條才足以編織成椅身。

體驗工藝產品從無到有的過程,很難得的經驗!
但過程中手工處理耗時許久,卻疏忽了產品身處的系統設計。
Due to the unfamiliarity of bamboo material, we were not confident to give the accurate chair design drawings to the bamboo handcrafters, so we chose to try by ourselves. To make one bamboo chair took us a lot of time and efforts to learn the traditional techniques in less than 3 months. Although we acquired the craft skills and learned many knowledges of bamboo, it was a pity that we overlooked some of the features like product usability, some potential problems, and the concerns that aroused by those who were in the environmental fields.
