"A new way of holding phone, A different experience of believing the case again."
The more we rely on mobile phone, the more safty concern we care. No one can live comfortablely without cell phone, its existence has become more irreplaceable. How can we balance function and visual satisfaction?

INSPIATION BY MOUNTAIN Design Concept I love the curve of mountain ranges, it shows a sense of dignity and conceals the thing you may not understand. The curve seems to be randomly scattered around, but it follows the rule and has its own philosophy behind. The word "mountain" has always be used to interpret as countable, reliable, and worthy of trust, which share the similarity to the features of the cellphone case.
At first, the problem I want to solve is that people nowadays are not able to hold their phones tight, which causes the situation of the drop at a high rate. In the view to the mobile phone has become more significant to our livings, this unsafe phenomenon produce the conflicts between the dependance of people to their phones. Therefore a phone case with designed structure to privide the sense of safeness is a potential demand.
As for the rolling feature added on the mountain-like phone case, it was my method to solve the problem from a different point of view. The movement of Rolling has a very clear affordance to explain the directions of upward and downward. People are able to adjust the volume button with a rolling device rather than the pressing buttons with adequent intuition.

DESIGNED BASED ON SURVEY - on evidence O B S E R V AT I O N Generally speaking, it would be challenging for user to hold the cell phone tightly with one single hand. In spite of the device extention of fingers, the phone case should carry some designed features, like the downcut curve or the upper convex on the surface. The relative reasearch outcome enables me be more considerable on the phone case and know where to focus on.
FINDING PROBLE MS AND SOLUTIONS The data indicates that people usually drop their phone while they adjusting the volume button, besides the moment that they need to move their point finger to the side of the phone case, the situation of pressing the wrong button is also the main blame of it.

REALIZATION AND MECHANISIUM - looking for similar working features
Mountain Shape Irregular shape and uneven curving lines that mountain range present is too difficult to realize by imagination; therefore, I used the oil soil to shaping the outline and the phone case itself under the iphone 7 display model. But after deciding the shape, the next challenge is to create a 3D model in Solidworks. It nearly took me five days to analyze section profiles and solve modeling problems. To look back, I found myself making a big step forward to modeling skill, and ability to look for methods.
Rolling Mechanisium The mainly mechanical structure I applied on rolling motion is to simulate the working mode of computer mouse control. People are familiar with mouse usage, so if we apply it as new types of control, we can therefore come to the easy outcome without much effort. In terns of the basic knowledge behind the rolling motion, I capture the rotating parts on the mouse and eliminate the useless parts, then leave space for the mechnisium.

The Seasoning Pot which brings back memories

and makes you more intimate with family.
The taste of food is decided by seasonings, one simple dish could be tasted like a delicacy. People are prone to relate their memories to taste itself. Therefore, if we are used to the particular flavor, nothing is replaceble.
WHAT IS COMING-OF-AGE CEREMONY? Coming-of-age is a young person's transition from being a child to being an adult. In Taiwan, as we growing up until we meet the majority legal age, there would be a ceremony or can be part of a ritual and spiritual event to celebrate.
Self Awareness of growing
The purpose of the coming-of-age ceremony is to remind the adolescent to take the responsibility of everything they do. They are granted to have more rights and duties, which means they are no longer the child protected under the parents' umbrella, it is the time to take care of themselves.
Transition is a period to adjust and to adapt not only toward the society but also the relationship between the others and themselves. It may be the threshold to cross from due to the fact that you may go through the coming challenges and need to find ways to overcome any obstacle.

"We are what we eat," what we can't forget about, is the taste from home. When the food becomes a habit, it is hard to change. As for the student who rent a house or live in the dormitory, something similar is the same feelings of homeness. There is no MOTHER outside to take care of what you eat, and when you should eat, everything is on your own. Because we have already been used to eat as we told, a connection between food taste and the specific time period will automatically associated together.
This may lead to one kinds of memory related to a sense of taste. However, we couldn't be able to duplicate the exact same feeling as we experienced in our lovely home. Therefore, some techniques like adding favorite spicy sause in lunch box in order to get the same feeling of the habit that you used to a heavy-flavored dishes at home.
It will not change, and we keep finding the same feeling.
Ta s t e a r o u s e M e m o r y . Remember the time we always looked forward to see what's Mom cooked for dinner as we finished school ? The smell of mother's or grandmother's specialties gives us a sense of safty, which makes us associate of "HOME."
Everyone has his own familiar taste or smell from his beloved family or the kitchen when he was still a child and watching grandma to make meals. These vivid memory will be brought out once we taste the same flavor of the food or smell the particular savory aroma.

We first conducted a survey about how inconvenience the NCKU App was for direction. And we found out there were many classrooms having uncommon, indistingushable names which caused people difficult to search and find their locations.

There are many squirrels around NCKU campus, that is why we applied the pattern and chose the shape of pinecone.
How might we.... To make the whole system complete, we plan the places, and cooperate with ncku safeguarding team.

Design for What Matters , FUTURE HANDICAPS IN CITY-MOVING We all live in a place where will have been replaced by functional buildings. Somehow we would not stay still but to explore the world.
Nervertheless, crowdeness makes you less secured, less fragile and less comfortable.

Take papered model to try mimic a real mechanical use, with a rubber band and the cardboard and acrylic boxes, I was able to imagine how these different structures interact with each other.
Originally, I wanted to use a spring to fulfill two features, one is 5 centimeters as it is squeezed into the shortest, and the other is 20 centimeters as it is streched to its longest. The requirement was too ridiculous to reach, and extremely unattainable belief. I did not realize that this did not make any sense at all !
So I changed my mind and accept professor Wei to replace the material by a rubber band, which is a perfect material to my wish

The main goal in this program was to promote and creat a VRoriented games related to Tainan, where my college located, about traditional culture.

International Student Week in Ilmenau I got admitted to join the workshop of issues discussion around the world, and I chose to be in part of the food group. The first impression of Germany is the tidiness and puncturality toward everything, but German people was friendly and helpful enough to give hands as foreigners having problems.
We star ted to under stand dif f er ent f o o d h ab i t c ul t ur e un der di f f er en t backgrounds, and to learn how to cook with public food fridge (an amazing way to not waste the food and also help the homeless). In the end, we designed ways to make other participants to recognize the importance of make the best of every sources by experiencing food with same ingredients but with different cooking methods.
During the food group discussion, we found out waste of food has been an big issue for many countries, so we wanted to figure out relationship and definition between food and human-beings, and to design an awesome method to enquire people the importance of food. Subsquently, the fact that people are unwilling to eat food with ungly appearence, which caused a large amount of food to be wasted or threw away. Therefore, an awareness of the same quality of health benefit of ungly and pretty food would definitely serve as an solution to the problem.
