The Department of Music is an Associate Member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). Of the 1600+ schools of music in the U.S., less than a third have this distinction. UNC Charlotte is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Our music education program is nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
