ACTIVITIES

DRAGON BOAT PADDLING: CLASSES AND TEAMS

Year‐round / Ages: 18 and older / Fee: $99 / Regatta Island / Days and times vary Learn the fundamentals of paddling. Participants can expect to learn the stroke basics as well as on-the-water experience in the boat. The paddling class is the prerequisite for joining the community team. EQUIPMENT RENTALS

Year‐round / All ages (under 18 must be accompanied by an adult) / Fee: Starting at $30 / Regatta Island / Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pedal pontoon boat, single and double sit-on-top kayaks and stand-up paddleboard rentals. LEARN TO ROW: CLASSES AND PRIVATE LESSONS

Year‐round / Ages: 18 and older / Fee: Classes: $200; Private lessons: $80‐$110 / Regatta Island / Days and times vary Learn to Row focuses on the fundamentals of sculling, which is rowing with two oars. Individuals will be taken step-by-step through nomenclature, safety maneuvers and independent boat handling skills. The eight‐hour course will provide you with the skill set to row a single scull. TEAM BUILDING

NBP REC DAYS

Year-round / All ages / Fee: $10 per adult, $5 per child, free for children 6 and under / Regatta Island / Schedule is available at nathabendersonpark.org/recdays / 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s a great way to experience NBP family-style! Participants will have the opportunity to try stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and more! (Wednesday NBP Rec Days are ideal for homeschool and virtual students!)

2022 INTERNATIONAL DRAGON BOAT FEDERATION CLUB CREW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

July 18-24 / All ages / Fee: Varies / Regatta Island / Friday-Sunday, varying times We look forward to welcoming dragon boat teams from more than 13 countries to Sarasota for the Club Crew World Championship 2022. Crews from clubs around the world will race while building camaraderie and experiencing our community’s many amenities such as shopping, beaches and restaurants.

T-REC WALK

Sept. 16 / Ages: 13 and up / Fee: Free / Meet at the playground / Friday, 10 a.m. to noon All teens and adults with disabilities are invited to participate in a walk. NBP TRICK OR TREAT ON THE LAKE

Oct. 25 / All ages / Fee: Free / Event garden and West bank / Tuesday, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Safe, family-friendly trick or treat event for all ages! There will be movies on the big screen, games and vendors on site.

FLORIDA TURKEY TROT

Nov. 24 / All ages / Fee: Varies / Regatta Island / Thursday, 8 a.m. The Florida Turkey Trot is the final of three races in the Holiday Race Challenge. This race will be a part of your Thanksgiving tradition as you enjoy the festivities. Race finishers cross the finish line after running the floating final mile over the lake and will be awarded a tasty treat to commence their Thanksgiving feast.
