BA THESIS
(in) different
Withdrawn, different, unkind, highly intelligent – all terms that are associated with autism, if you ask common people about it. But what else does autism mean? How does an autist perceive the world, what does he think, what does he feel? Autists lack the ability to filter. They perceive everything we do as louder, more intense. But that‘s not the only aspect that distinguishes autism from normal people – it‘s the life with the developmental disorder itself, which takes place some-
where between obsessivecompulsive disorders, indifference and depression. The collection and work „(in)different“ mirrors the whole spectrum of emotions behind autism. The seclusion, the inner withdrawal, the indifference itself by using the color white and clean, calm patterns – contrasting with the counterbalance of depression, meltdown, overload and the loss of control, which is shown in black, confusing, heavy-weight outfits.

„Autism isn’t something a person has, or a “shell” that a person is trapped inside. There’s no normal child hidden behind the autism. Autism is a way of being. It is pervasive; it colors every experience, every sensation, perception, thought, emotion, and encounter, every aspect of 1 existence.”

6th TERM CONTEST topic : spacetex stationwear title:
P E R S O N A L _ S P A C E During my 6th term, we participated in an international contest hosted by Spacetex. The task was to create a visionary looking space suit built for the 2030 mars expedition. In my work, I focused on emotional aspects as loneliness and isolation, and how clothes could work against that in a new environment.

COLOR & TRIM / INTERIOR inspired by 4th term project topic : utopia
title :
B L U E
Based on an early state of my 4th term project, I designed an interior with the according Color & Trim Design. In the choice of the colors, I referred to the first mappings I did for UTOPIA, as also in the choice of material and shape of the interior.
The interior is inspired by the mappings seen above. The mappings include biomorph shapes, which were transmitted into smooth, soft lines in the interior design. The cool colors like lavender and deep blue initially came from the defeatist scenario we chose for our team project. Those colors in combination with silver metallic details and rough canvases give the interior a chilly, contemporary look with sportive elements.

COLOR & TRIM free work for SMART
topic : trend research title :
C O F F E E R A C E R For color & trim design, it is most crucial to keep the finger on the pulse of the times. Therefore one of the main focuses in my internship at Daimler AG was research and product benchmark. This featured project is one of the results of my trend researches, which I used to design new color & trim editions for SMART. Due to non-disclosure agreements, the final editions cannot be shown in the following.
Combining the tender subtleness of warm grey and beige shades in soft canvases and wood modern details like brushed aluminum and pure concrete creates a new interpretation of the classic term „coffeeracer“.

3rd TERM topic : l‘esprit de la révolution
title :
O C C U P Y
This 3rd semester menswear collection is concerned with modern revolutions. The politically and economically initiated protests after the financial crisis in the United States was the foundation of this collection, with the main goal of creating garments for the occupy-protesters and members of the „we are the 99 percent“ movement.
