S
tepping inside Cookies’ flat and you’ll be quick to notice his achievements. From ‘Sesame Street’ to his recent success as one of the fuzzy faces of Warburtons Crumpets campaign. Going through into an airy, and very glossy, kitchen diner, no expense has been spared in they recent renovations. ‘An attempt at a fresh start’ announces Cookie gesturing towards a gleaming agar and equally as mint set of orange Le Creuset casserole dishes. “We thought a full flat renovation would be a good way for Mary and I to book in a new chapter of our lives.” A whirlwind year for the newly married couple, which saw the majority of their private life unfold in the public eye, has finally begun to die down. After taking a well deserved break in Hawaii, the pair return to their freshly decorated Cheshire home, ready to begin married life together. ‘The Monster’ hands me a mug of earl grey, gone are the days of milk and cookies, and we settle into a plush velvet corner sofa. “For me” he begins “when the story broke, the hardest part was Mary have to explain to her family and our friends why I’d been so distant - it was a real test for our relationship,” reflects Cookie. It was just two weeks after the extravagant wedding of Cookie and

Mary that rumours began speculating of Cookies’ health. “We knew the wedding would attract media attention, we had security surrounding the grounds - but it ended up being ridiculous, there were helicopters circling above, I mean come on!” With a plethora of faces in attendance, Best Man Kermit the Frog and a Maid of Honour in the form of the one and only Miss Piggy, it was inevitable that this big day was going to end up as one of the biggest. However, it was the stories that followed which exposed a lot more of Cookie’s personal life than was planned.
“But it ended up being ridiculous, there were helicopters circling above, I mean come on!” In the past few years we’ve seen a once curvy Cookie Monster slim down to much more of a fun size guy, but it was the dramatic weight loss in the lead up to the wedding of the year which raised concern. Former Sesame Street vets and firm friends of screen Bert and Ernie have rallied round, keeping an eye on the work on the couples home whilst they took a well earned break. “They were all so great, so supportive, they were looking after my Mary, too, not just me. Keeping up moral during some of our darker days,’ Cookie smiles fondly. Things begin to go from bad to worse after images of the pair honeymooning on the beaches of Jamaica are released. It’s clear that Monster’s health is deteriorating. “What with the foreign food being difficult for my already fragile stomach to digest and the heat suppressing any appetite I did have my weight dropped further. I’m talking below 10st and I’m 7ft tall.” says Cookie. Things took a dramatic turn after the honeymoon was cut short and Cookie was rushed into hospital where he would
Following his return to the UK, Cookie released a statement. “I just had to get it all of my chest, the response was overwhelming and I could already feel myself on the road to recovery. I felt so guilty for putting everyone through it and ruining the honeymoon but I knew it was the catalyst to help me help myself.” The statement revealed that the Cookie Monster had suffered a ten year battle with bulimia. This then combined with the stress of a wedding in the public eye had resulted in considerable weight loss and caused

We were completely focused on a full recovery, she was driving me to and from appointments and to therapy sessions. For that I’ll be eternally grateful,” says Cookie, I can sense the sincerity. It seems odd to see this larger than life person so humbled by the affection and actions shown from his loved ones.

PondLife Celebs It takes no time at all to recognise who has just walked in to the trendy East London juice bar chosen by a certain actor for our meet today. The familiar tan skin (albeit slightly more crinkly round the edges these days) and tall lime antenna make their way towards me, Dipsy.

e settle in a quite corner and order green juice with extra wheatgrass shot (for him) and a tall americano (for myself). I can’t help but notice a slightly wistful, longing look towards my bowl of coffee from Dipsy. The actor himself half the man he was just a year or so previously but the years of appearances in Ibiza have every so slightly taken their toll. Today, Dipsy is not surrounded by his ‘people’ but is alone and seemingly relaxed. Two shiny iPhones lay side by side on the table, with the release of his first book on the shelves and a rumours of a hosting job on Top Gear spin off show, I suppose this isn’t perhaps a time to ignore calls. “They say I’ll find out any day now!” A hopeful Dipsy announces, clearly watching me watching the phones. “It’s been strange getting back into the media swing of things, they’re all ‘don’t say this, don’t say that’ it’s a miracle they’ve allowed me to do this one by myself!” he snorts and sips at his green juice. “This one is great for the liver, and it actually tastes really nice.” I almost believe him. It’s been 15 years since the last episode of Teletubbies aired and 9 since his Fly on The Wall, warts ’n’ all documentary
following his relationship with co-star Lala fizzled to an end. Along with their romance. It is fair to say the years ensuring the golden era of Teletubbies weren’t to go necessarily go to plan for Dipsy, with a series of very public ups and downs. Dipsy and Lala began their documentary in 2002, back then the couple were seemingly smitten, all shrieks and giggles.

PondLife Celebs As the series’ went on it would seem more and more apparent that Lala wasn’t as keen. Tinky Winky, fellow co-star and close friend to the pair, tells us “she just lost interest I think and it was obvious to everyone but him, she can be like that, she needs someone to keep her on her toes.” And it looked as though the person to do that was none other than Dipsy’s best friend, Po. I broach the subject carefully, “It was shock, yes, and I was so pissed off with her, that she’d do that to me” he reveals. “I knew she was a bit of a flirt but I never thought they’d actually go off together.” The week after the show wrapped for it’s 5th series, Lala was pictured leaving a Dorset hotel, a very sheepish looking Po in tow. Before getting together with Dipsy, Lala, never one to keep private life private, had famously expressed her interest in women with a short lived fling with Lindsey Lohan.
I’ve moved on now, so all I can do is wish them well.” It was well document that following the split, Dipsy spiralled slightly out of control. Out went the quiet life and in came the yacht parties and week long benders.
“I knew she was a bit of a flirt but I never thought they’d actually go off together.” Not to dwell on this, I change the subject. So, what does life hold for the single star? “Well, I have really got into my fitness you see, the beer belly has gone!” Dipsy stands and flexes, revealing a toned torso which appears to be oiled ready for show. On the topic of career he reveals that he is ready to get back on our screens. “As well as the presenting, I’d love to get into some proper acting, you know? Really show everyone what I’m made of.” You heard it here first casting directors!
“I got the call from my agent warning me about the hotel photos. Back then I was all puppy eyed and ready to take her back but now… they’re welcome to each other. Zippy Pond Life enter the world of Zippy for a catch up in his luxurious Kensington penthouse apartment.
T
he last episode of ‘Up Late With Zippy’ has just aired and with it comes a whole heap of fabulous reviews. In a rare catch up the ever dazzling host invites Pond Life in for a nosy around his equally as dazzling UK home and a rare catchup to talk fame, friends and fabulous furnishings. It is 8am and Zippy has just buzzed us through the cast iron gates of the apartment block, reinforced following a particularly paparazzi heavy month. ’He just has to keep his private life, private, you know?’ one of Zippy’s people informs us. We are then ushered into an impressive drawing room complete with yellow velvet chaise lounge and oil paint portraits of the star covering almost an entire wall. It seems, in this household, if something is worth doing, it is worth doing properly… and with all the bells and whistles you can find.

‘I think I have reached an age where I feel I have things to say which are actually useful.’ Zippy’s UK half of the year is spent here, splitting life between LA and London. Despite the building’s size, its entirety is filled with the buzz of activity, Mr. Z’s people are continuously in and out, iPhones firmly gripped. The chatter softens to a distant low hum as staff members filter out and an ever charming Zippy takes their place. Following the success of his show ‘Up Late With Zippy’ the talk show host is keen to make the most of some elusive time off. ‘I love coming here just to be with friends’ he explains, ‘we have the most fabulous dinners here all drinking and laughing’.

PondLife Celebs I get the sense that it would be incomprehensible for anything to be at all non-fabulous around here. Today’s interview will be one of the last before a solid two weeks free of meetings and appearances. Despite travelling across the world a boasting an ever expanding portfolio Zippy has kept a close circle of friends around him. Following the very public, but seemingly amicable, split from long term partner Bungle, friends rallied round and whisked Zippy off for a week in the white sands of Barbados, before he launched himself back into work. ‘We just needed to get him away from all those bloody paps and chatty Cathy’s’, Janice reveals. It is this grounding group who keep Zippy’s feet, ever so slightly, on the ground.
Alongside the eagerly anticipated second serious of Late Night comes his first autobiography, ‘I think I have reached an age where I feel I have things to say which are actually useful,’ he explains ‘and, of course, I have stockpiled many a juicy story in my time!’ Zippy adds with his famous grin.

he success of the Teletubbies TV
series back in 2001 rocketed an 18 year old NooNoo into the limelight, appearances on various chat shows and a very brief stint on Strictly On Ice made his quick wit and larger than life character what he was known for. ‘Some celebs make out all this being famous lark is difficult but I’m loving it! My life is like one long party,’ he once famously told Graham Norton. Could it now be that this ‘life long party’ is all too much for the actor? The last week saw unforgiving images emerge of the party animal and began circulating viscously online, plunging the former Teletubby star into a nightmare media frenzy. The anonymously leaked snaps seemed to show a bleary eyed NooNoo, surrounded by a few old party pals, hoover up a number of mysterious white lines. This doesn’t look good for the star having faced numerous drug accusations in the past. The now father-ofone is said to be furious that these images have appeared, however acknowledged the accusations which his usual ballsy manor, quipping: ‘Hey, I was just doing my job!’ Just a couple of days ago. It now seems that the joke is wearing pretty thin now that the backlash against him has begun, he then tweeted ‘This is a breach of privacy, it’s nobodies business but my own. Get off my back.’ Not surprising that

his usually chirpy tone was out the window. Sources close to the actor reveal he is becoming more and more paranoid about who to trust, clearly someone is out to publicly trip him up. This is the last thing he needs following last months almost identical snapchat scandal, which saw a fan film the star at a party in Kensington. The saved video, which saw a familiar white substance being poured into NooNoo’s nozzle, was, soon circulating across twitter. A public statement was released from NooNoo himself, in which he apologised for his ‘outlandish behaviour’ claiming that he has an ‘addictive personality, always has and always will’ however this time he just got ‘carried away’. The announcement was filled with his usual wit and charm, and seemed to satisfy a number of the outraged fans and silence most of the cruel trolls on twitter. Despite the dust having settled from last months stories it seems this time the star won’t be able to wriggle out of responsibility so easily. Pondlife Celebs Power Couple Red and Yellow Ranger invite Pond Life into their home to introduce the newest member of their family, baby Orange!

ne would assume that parenthood’s sitting quite comfortably within the Rangers household, the pair sit before me cooing and smiling down into a plush crib, the evening light casting a glow on the new family. January the 14th earlier this year saw the pair welcome in their first born, a beautiful baby girl, Orange. Today I’m invited to The Rangers’ Southern France home for their first public interview since the name announcement. Set in the beautiful rolling hills of Southern France it is obvious why Red and Yellow Ranger now split their time between this grand chalet (complete with orchard) and their Cheshire suburban family home. “I still can’t believe she’s here!” Beams a giddy Mr. Ranger.

Taking on the role of excited New Mum, Yellow tells of her newfound joy in parenting: “I just feel so lucky to have these two. Family really is a blessing. I feel like I’ve finally found what I was put here to do, I am a Mother now.” The couple announced their pregnancy via an Instagram video last year, just two months in. “We wanted to share every moment with our fans” Red discloses, “we wanted to follow us on our journey, through the ups and downs.” It seems this is a theme which ran through the duration with a series of nearly nude pregnancy selfies posted by Yellow to her followers across various social media accounts. “I found the whole process amazing” she muses, “I mean, yeah, sure the swollen feet and morning sickness were trying at times but, mostly, I enjoyed every day. PondlifeBeauty Actor turned beauty vlogger extraordinaire, George, gives us the low down on his trademark ‘all pink everything’ look. “The great thing about this look is that it’s transitional for work to evening drinks,” George explains, “I like to turn it up a notch with a strong lip or fluro false lash. It just gives it that extra bit of drama, you know, perfect for evenings.” Looks like these are posted weekly on the ever popular Georgella YouTube channel, where George reveals his tips, tricks and tutorials on how to recreate his favourite looks of the stars.

Pumpkin Soup Ingredients: 2lb/1 kg pumpkin (any), chopped into large chunks (remove skin and seeds) 2 medium onions, sliced 2 cloves of garlic 3 cups / 750ml chicken or vegetable stock 1 cup / 250ml milk (see notes for vegan subs) Salt and pepper This is such a simple recipe I like to use, as I have a lot of left over pumpkin! Simply combine all ingredients in a large pan, bring to the boil and then let simmer until the pumpkin is tender. Finally, using a hand help blender, whiz until smooth. Serve hot with crusty bread!
