2010 Success Means Even More Shows for 2011 Widespread media coverage, increased attendance and praise from shoppers and vendors made 2010 a winning inaugural year. LOS ANGELES — January 3, 2011 — The Helms Design District Vintage Boutique held on December 11, 2010 for holiday shoppers marked a third successful trunk show event hosted by Clever Vintage Clothing and gives momentum for its upcoming shows in 2011. Today, Clever Vintage Clothing announced that four shows will occur in 2011 — all held the second Saturday of every third month (March 12, June 11, September 10 and December 10).
“We got off to a great start in 2010 with this new venture for Clever Vintage Clothing and its team of amazing dealers and designers throughout the Los Angeles area,” said Dave Temple, owner of Clever Vintage Clothing. “It took a lot of hard work on everyone’s part, but it paid off. Now that we’ve laid a strong foundation, we can continue to grow this show into a long-term, lucrative project for everyone to enjoy.” Since the first event held on June 19, 2010, achievements included widespread media coverage with features in Los Angeles Times, Racked LA, Today’s Vintage, Collector Magazine, Mondette, The Find and My Vintage Vogue among others. Additionally, increased vendor satisfaction and participation occurred. Where schedules allowed, most all of the vendors who originally appeared at the first event came back for the next two in 2010. More booth spaces were added after the first show due to increased demand and popularity allowing for a more diverse collection of vendors including vendors presenting an impressive collection of hard-to-find garments and accessories for gentlemen. Finally the 2010 events provided an environment highly praised by its customers who have rewarded the show with their repeated attendance.
The March 12 event will include classic, designer and repurposed women’s vintage clothing, hard-to-find men’s vintage wears, vintage jewelry and other unique accessories from individually selected top-tier dealers and designers. Shoppers can look forward to seeing the following dealers at this next show: Timeless Vixen, Rockstar Vintage Couture, Maxine Goldberg, Jermel Nakia, Tresor de Vintage, Elizabeth G, Miss Kory Lynn and Clever Vintage Clothing among others. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lightspace Studio located at 8755 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232. (10 minutes from downtown, 40 minutes from Orange County, 30 minutes from Long Beach and 15 minutes from Santa Monica). Entry to the event is $5.00; however, 100 free tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis via Eventbrite (http://helmsvintage.eventbrite.com/). Dealers interested in participating in the March Vintage Boutique event should reserve their space soon. Space will be limited in order to maintain the show’s intimate feel and to keep the event uncongested. ABOUT CLEVER VINTAGE CLOTHING Clever Vintage Clothing launched in 1991 after its owner Dave C. Temple spent a lifetime inspired by vintage apparel and collected a garage full of great finds from across the United States. Temple eventually set up a showroom in downtown Los Angeles where customers of all kinds — designers, stylists, buyers, store owners, and vintage clothing collectors and enthusiasts — could find the vintage clothing they either personally wanted or needed for their business practices at a fair price with less hassle. It was a clever endeavor that has grown for over a decade and remains in its original downtown Los Angeles location.
