Mad Men Inspired Holiday Shopping Clever Vintage Clothing and its Vintage Boutique Show provide authentic outfits for Mad Men holiday parties. LOS ANGELES — November 21, 2010 — Mad Men themed holiday parties are all the rage this holiday season, and shoppers are finding the perfect outfits they need from Clever Vintage Clothing at its downtown Los Angeles showroom. With two Clever Vintage Clothing garments actually featured on AMC’s hit drama series, shoppers know that they are getting authentic attire. Plus, on December 11, 2010, shoppers will have the opportunity to browse wears from an additional nine vintage dealers at the Helms Design District Vintage Boutique show in Culver City hosted by Clever Vintage Clothing. While the Mad Men phenomenon gained much of its momentum last year among dedicated fans, this year it has caught on in a much bigger way, said Dave Temple, owner of Clever Vintage Clothing. “I get at least two phone calls and emails a week from shoppers who found us by word-of-mouth or online looking for an authentic Mad Men inspired outfit for a Christmas party,” Temple said. “Even some men are calling, which is great, because that shows everyone’s getting into it.” In fact, Temple said many of the shoppers are getting outfits for office holiday parties. With corporate cutbacks, companies have started finding creative ways to create a fun holiday experience for their staff while avoiding the large expenses associated with the extravagant parties of the past. Mad Men parties provide the perfect throwback to an era when office holiday parties were a fun way for co-workers to bond in a more simple way — when Susan in accounting had a few too many cocktails or Larry and Jane were caught making out in the boss’s office. Shoppers can make an appointment to browse the huge selection of authentic vintage wears Clever Vintage Clothing has to offer at its showroom in downtown Los Angeles by calling (310) 650-8357 or sending an email to info@clevervintageclothing.com. The Helms Design District Vintage Boutique on December 11, 2010 will offer classic, designer and repurposed women’s vintage clothing, hard-to-find men’s vintage wears, vintage jewelry and other vintage accessories from individually selected top-tier dealers and designers including Rockstar Vintage Couture, Maxine Goldberg, Little Treasures, Jermel Nakia, Vintage Blue Moon, Tresor de Vintage, Elizabeth G, Timeless Vixen, Miss Kory Lynn and Clever Vintage Clothing. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lightspace Studio located at 8755 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232. (10 minutes from downtown, 40 minutes from Orange County, 30 minutes from Long Beach and 15 minutes from Santa Monica). Entry to the event is $5.00; however, 100 free tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis via Eventbrite (http://helmsvintage.eventbrite.com/). Additionally, shoppers who mention which media outlet they heard about the event from will receive free entry. The Vintage Boutique show at the Helms Design District has been featured in Los Angeles Times, Today’s Vintage, Collector

Magazine, Mondette, The Find and My Vintage Vogue. Keeping with the nostalgic theme, the event will even be catered by Auntie Em’s Kitchen from the hip eastside neighborhood of Eagle Rock serving vintage boxed lunches and take home holiday treats. Dealers interested in participating in the December Vintage Boutique event should reserve their space soon. Space will be limited in order to maintain the show’s intimate feel and to keep the event uncongested. Shoppers interested in attending the December event should visit the show’s Facebook page: Helm's Design District Vintage Boutique. They can also visit CleverVintageClothing.com for details or sign up for the Clever Vintage Clothing newsletter by sending an email request to info@clevervintageclothing.com. ABOUT CLEVER VINTAGE CLOTHING Clever Vintage Clothing launched in 1991 after its owner Dave C. Temple spent a lifetime inspired by vintage apparel and collected a garage full of great finds from across the United States. Temple eventually set up a showroom in downtown Los Angeles where customers of all kinds — designers, stylists, buyers, store owners, and vintage clothing collectors and enthusiasts — could find the vintage clothing they either personally wanted or needed for their business practices at a fair price with less hassle. It was a clever endeavor that has grown for over a decade and remains in its original downtown Los Angeles location.
