PROJECT MANAGEMENT UPDATE
Anthony Davis Project Manager
Phase 4 is well underway with all demolition being completed, MEP rough-ins are sailing along, and wall board is being hung. The second floor of the south wing is slightly ahead of the first floor, allowing the trade contractors to effectively sequence their work so we can keep driving the schedule. Some of the noticeable changes are just outside the dining area where the exterior wall has been opened up for a new window, and the vestibule is starting to take shape. Inside the first floor dining area, the existing spa has been demolished in preparation for the new kitchen. MEP rough-ins are critical in the kitchen, and we want to commend the trade contractors for being diligent and precise. Thanks again to all the residents and staff for their continued patience and support throughout the project.

Building Together | Construction Update Newsletter UMRC - Chelsea, MI - October 2019 KRESGE RENOVATIONS | UP NEXT With November rapidly approaching, we are moving along nicely through Phase 4. The trades are working diligently to wrap up another phase of the project before the first of the year. The month of November will include the start of the finishing process of the phase. This includes beginning to prime and paint the walls, installing wall protection and handrail, starting to install cabinets and beginning to lay down flooring. November will be a busy month to say the least. With saying that, we can’t thank the trades enough for their hard work and willingness to work with one another throughout the entirety of this project. We are excited to wrap up another phase of the project! For our team spotlight for October, we chose to highlight the carpenters from Elzinga & Volkers. The workers from Elzinga & Volkers have been extremely helpful during Phase 4. Whether it be putting up temporary walls, helping install insulation on the ceiling or infilling drywall, they have been instrumental in helping Phase 4 move along smoothly. The versatility that Jeff and Teo have provided is extremely valuable and efficient when it comes to running a project. We look forward to working with these Elzinga & Volkers team members for the remainder of the project.
