New Views Spectrum Health - Gerber Memorial

Project Completion!

Executive Summary

Completion and Celebration It’s bittersweet when a project like the Gerber Memorial Hospital Emergency Expansion nears completion. On one hand, our team and trade contractors are excited to move on to new projects and challenges, but on the other, we will miss the staff and volunteers at Gerber as well as the community of Fremont. We are proud of the new space and the expansion to medical care which the new Emergency Department represents and want to send a big thank you from Elzinga & Volkers to everyone that helped make the project a reality. This issue of New Views also marks the end of our reporting on the project. We

hope that you have enjoyed keeping up with the project through this newsletter. Another big thanks to the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Marketing Department for their help in distributing this newsletter to the community and project stakeholders. Until the next project, you can look for Elzinga & Volkers all around West Michigan as we continue to build “New Views” for our clients. Thank you!

Two Week Look Ahead

We’re almost there! Thank you to all the Gerber Memorial patients and staff for continued patience as site work wraps up. In the next week, we will final-grade the sub-base and spread a base coat of asphalt. Once the base coat is set, the asphalt pavers will take over the entire front parking lot for three days to pave the final top coat of asphalt, layout the parking spaces and stripe the new parking lot. Paving the top coat of both areas at the same time will eliminate “cold joints” and will allow the entire parking lot to be one continuous, smooth sheet of asphalt. Soak up these last few days of construction fencing and golf cart rides - we’re almost done!
