Updated Exterior

Siding removal and new window installation

PM Update Hello All, It’s time again for the Inside Scoop on the Coldwater BPU project. It’s been another busy month and crews are working hard to get all of the exterior scope done quickly to beat the fast approaching winter. The StormTech stormwater chamber system is complete. The sitework and site concrete have been completed. Grass seeding, underground irrigation and the first coat of paving is complete. The top coat of paving, and planting of the trees & bushes will be done in the spring. The new transformer has been set and the building power has been switched over to the new panels and service. The exterior windows and storefront openings have been installed and the exterior metals panels are currently being installed.

For the interior work, door frames are in with drywall mostly completed and painting well underway. Ceiling grid is being installed and vinyl flooring has started. Electrical wiring is in progress and light fixtures are starting to be installed. The mezzanine metal railing is in place. Now we are on the final stretch of activities with about a month of construction left before furniture starts to go in place. This project has remained on schedule and the move-in is targeted for the end of the year! Enjoy the project photos and highlights. Curt Hielke Project Manager

Parking Lot Preparation

This month’s spotlight goes out to Parrish Excavating. They are high class and do everything right. Parrish had a big part of the exterior scope. They were always willing to work with the other trades to accommodate each ones needs. Mark Diamond kept the project on schedule even with several rainy days. E&V would be fortunate to work with these guys again very soon.

SAFETYMatters

Inside Scoop - Construction Update Newsletter Coldwater Board of Public Utilties - November 2017

Ear and Hearing Protection

So we all enjoy listening to our favorite songs on the radio, and listening to our must watch television shows, right? So then when we are at work we should certainly protect our ability to hear correctly! Ear safety, like all aspects of safety is aimed at keeping ourselves and our senses safe from danger and/or permanent damage while working under extreme circumstances. On any construction site, we are surrounded by constant loud noises. There are many different styles of ear protection depending on the project, but the most important aspect of ear safety is just being aware of the risk before starting any work. Once the damage is done, it can be long-lasting or even permanent!
