Executive Summary The summer is starting to come to an end, but we continue to make progress throughout the building. In July, we completed the DNA Post Amplification room. We came across some pressurization issues in this area, but the entire team came together to develop a solution quickly so the timing of the validation period was not impacted. Other than the pressurization hiccup, this phase progressed smoothly. All trade contractors worked closely with Doug to hold each other accountable for the overall schedule of the project and work to improve it every day. We also changed the phasing plan of the project this month. Originally, Phase 4 was limited to the old DNA Post Room & the main corridor, but after a walk-through, it was determined that we could not move the northeast corner of the Component Lab at this time due to the amount of available space. To overcome this hurdle, the team decided that the west quarter of Phase 5 could be rolled into Phase 4, allowing additional space for this group. The Look Ahead

This month, we will work in the HLA/Reference area and the Component Lab. The phasing changes have allowed us to increase the overall square footage of this phase while accommodating the staff. In a few weeks, the current staff will be able to relocate to their final location in completed Phase 4. We are also taking extreme measures when working In the Phase 4 Old DNA Post Room. All demolished material will be bagged before leaving the room. This ensures that no contaminants escape the room and cause issues for the staff. -Doug Eddy, Field Manager
