Project Update
Kicking Off A New Location!
Welcome to another issue of the Inside Scoop! We have now completed the demolition of everything on the interior of the building, as well as existing exterior walls leaving just the structural steel and roof. We have erected some new structural steel for the mezzanine area and are preparing for the new exterior framing and siding. The re-roof has been completed and the exterior is starting to come together. On the interior, the framing is almost complete and the MEP rough-in is underway. Some of the drywall work has started and things are really taking shape. We had a nice break in the weather providing us with an opportunity to get the new front parking area in and finish the masonry. Next, we will finish and turn over the donor floor, once that is complete, we will be onto the last phase of the project. Steve Null, Project Manager steven@elzinga-volkers.com

TRADE CONTRACTOR
SPOTLIGHT With the exterior of the building partly re-sided and the new floor to ceiling window and door opening framed, allowing the sub-zero weather to blow thru the structure, Allied Construction Services employees soldiered on with their work. Allied continued the interior framing during the worst week of subzero wind and cold to date, completing the majority of the metal stud framing. While other trade partners deemed it unbearable work conditions, Allied endured, to help maintain our overall project schedule. My hardhat salute to those employee’s and Allied for making it happen.
SAFETY FIRST
Bundle Up! Prolonged exposure to freezing or cold temperatures may cause serious health problems such as trench foot, frostbite, and hypothermia. In extreme cases, including cold water immersion, exposure can lead to death. Danger signs include uncontrolled shivering, slurred speech, clumsy movements, fatigue and confused behavior. If these signs are observed, callw for emergency help. Hang in there – the cold weather will end soon!
