CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE
RELATED STUDY PROGRAM - 2019 THE OTHER COMMERCIAL CLUSTERS IN GIRDIKOT WERE CONSTRUCTED AT THE END.
Architecture of jodhpur is an outstanding arrangement of colonial Islamic and Hindu architecture . Jain and Muslim architecture had greatly influenced the palaces and forts in Rajasthan, where as the later architecture carries the touch of European interior as Rajputs were highly inspired by the British.
~ CLOCK TOWER ABOUT : SARDAR MARKET IN JODHPUR TOWN IS SITUATED IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE CLOCK TOWER WHICH IS ONE OF THE MAJOR LANDMARKS OF THE CITY . THE CLOCK TOWER WAS BUILT BY MAHARAJA SARDAR SINGH, AFTER WHOM THIS MARKET GOT ITS NAME . IT HAS NUMBER OF NARROW LANES LEADING FROM THE MAIN STREET AND EACH LANE IS LINED WITH LOT OF BOTH TINY AND BIG SHOPS ON BOTH THE SIDE .
THE SARDAR MARKET , GIRDIKOT WAS CONSTRUCTED AFTER THE PERCOTA CLOCK TOWER WAS CONSTRUCTED AFTER THE MARKET .
CHHATRI Elevated pavilions that stand as a symbol of honor and pride used to portray the fundamentals of admiration in Rajasthan’s Rajput architecture.
AIM : TO DOCUMENT THE MARKET AND STUDY THE LIVING PATTERN OF THE LOCAL PEOPLE AND THE CONSTRUCTION METHODS OF THESE ELEMENTS .
THE OTHER PERIPHERY OF THE CLOCK TOWER THAT IS THE PERCOTA WAS THEN CONSTRUCTED
Bulbous stone domes , pointed and semi-circular arches and stone jalis for light are prominent features.

Ÿ The relationship between solid and void throughout the built in turn creates permeable, extroverted and
introverted scenarios. Ÿ The voids are strategically located to allow for increased air movement through building mass which
promotes natural ventilation through housing unit. Ÿ There are total 10 student clusters on the site , in which 3 cluster has warden room and office on the ground
floor and remaining clusters has laundry rooms. Ÿ Total no. of rooms provided : 320

FACULTY CLUSTER : UNIT PLANS
Ÿ The Cluster 1 comprises of 2BHK (assistant professor), 3BHK (associate professor), 3.5BHK (HOD and Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ
principal) and studio apartments(1BHK), Cluster 2 comprises guest as well as faculty apartments. For vertical connection we have provided 3 dog-legged staircase with central lift shaft(in cluster 1) and 2 doglegged in cluster 2 The assembly of buildings is done around a courtyard which acts as a community space for the cluster. The arrangement creates a connection with the common green area in front of the development and highlights the drop-off. It functions as the main lobby before letting residents walk through the landscape to each residential block. The design of the facility building is all about blending it with central landscape and encouraging the residents to enjoy and have leisure time.
Ÿ Since the apartment is somehow small in size, the main principles in the process of design were: 1-Taking the maximum advantage of available spaces 2- defining private, semi-private and public spaces inside the apartment 3- bringing intimacy and peace in the interior through colours and forms. Ÿ Moving to the interiors of apartment, practically all the bathrooms, bedrooms and living rooms have natural
light and ventilation.
