purple and lavender textured cardstock black and light-yellow cardstock music patterned paper (such as Carolee’s Creations in Broken Notes) bird stamp (such as Impress Rubber Stamps’ solid bird) border stamp (such as an Autumn Leaves Stampology border stamp) letter stamps lavender ink (such as ColorBox Cat’s Eye Queue pigment ink in thistle) and black ink black lace ribbon and thin, pale-blue ribbon detail scissors adhesive and dimensional adhesive distressing tool

Make a card from a 5 1/2-by-11-inch piece of purple cardstock. Cut a 5-inch square from the patterned cardstock and adhere to the card.

Cut a 1 1/2-by-5 1/2-inch piece of lavender cardstock. Stamp the bird image in black, positioning it just below the top of the paper and about 3 inches from the paper’s left edge.

Cut into the lavender paper on the left and right sides of the bird until it meets the edges of the bird. Be careful not to cut all the way through.

Your paper should look like this. Using the detail scissors, cut out the top portion of the bird from the new edges.

Cut a 1-by-5 1/2-inch piece of black cardstock. Stamp the border image in lavender ink, positioning it just past the paper’s left edge. Distress the paper’s long edges and adhere to the card about 3/4 of an inch from the card’s left edge.

Using a trimmer, make a small cut in the fold of the card, along the edge of the black paper, for a piece of ribbon to fit through.

Pull the pale-blue ribbon through the slot in the top of the card. Wrap the ribbon’s ends around the edges and adhere to the inside of the card’s front. Cut a 1/2-by 2 1/4-inch piece of light-yellow cardstock. Stamp “just a note” in black ink. Trim one end of the yellow paper to a point. Tie the black-lace ribbon around the left end of the lavender paper. Using dimensional adhesive, adhere the lavender paper to the card, about 3/4 of an inch from the bottom.
