NEW
Three weeks of newly redesigned classroom curriculum, taught by the students’ teachers, will provide the building blocks of personal finance education.
Students will put their skills to the test when they leave behind their lives as eighth graders and become adults with careers, families, salaries, and financial obligations in the recently launched, fully digital, innovative, hands-on environment of Junior Achievement Finance Park.
Finance Park graduates will make decisions using tablet computers on buying a home, purchasing and maintaining a vehicle, budgeting for student loans and health care expenses, and choosing child care, among other decisions designed to prepare them for the future.
90 percent of Finance Park graduates report that they felt significantly more confident in their ability to make the right choices in life after participating in the program.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A FINANCE PARK VOLUNTEER?
The total time commitment is 5 hours, including a 1 hour training prior to your child arriving at Finance Park.
You will use your training knowledge to guide students through different phases of the day, which simulates real world budgeting decisions
As you guide students through the digital, paperless simulation, you can share your own life experiences and help the students to walk a day in your shoes.
