EDITORIAL ILLUSTRATION Case Study for Editorial Illustration Juri Seo | GD 208 Computer Drawing | Spring 2012
STATEMENT creative brief
Background
This editorial illustration project is to create an illustration, which depicts the issue being discussed. The staff editorial —The Trouble with Teen Pregnancy — caught my eyes since I’ve been watching “MTV’s 16 and Pregnant.”
Target
Teen is a period that you’ve been, you are, or you will be one day. It’s hard to avoid the fact of hearing teen’s pregnancy around us. This editorial is targeting for someone who has in a situation with having a baby, who has friends with baby, who has sisters and daughters — almost everyone.
Objective
I wish readers to think about the reality of teen’s pregnancy seriously, and have a responsibility to help reducing teen pregnancy and promoting health equity among youth.
Obstacles
Prevention of teenage pregnancy is cultural beliefs about teenage pregnancy in United States comparing with significance of becoming a mother at an early age in Africa.
Key Benefit
Teenage pregnancies are still a hot issue and really need to do something to prevent it.
