Music Moves Me
When she started Jr. High this year I decided to see if she could be a cheerleader for her school. I wanted her to get a chance to inner act with other girls her age. They told me it was too late for cheer tryouts. They said tryouts were the year before .But due to the fact she did not receive any notice of the tryouts and being the mother I am I fought for her. Not only was she granted the right to be a Cheerleader everything she needed was donated to her. Recently at the first game for her school Reading Jr High In Richmond Tx Seniah participated in cheering were She did ok. At half time when the mascot came out, they allowed Seniah to come out and do freestyle dance to the song Nae Nae and the crowd went crazy. She stole the show two days later I posted to the video of her dancing of my Facebook page and within I hours she got thousands of view. In 2017 Seniah won the Over All Beauty Supreme Title in the Young American Miss Internationale Beauty Pageant. Seniah is a free spirit little girl who loves life. She looks forward to putting a smile on peoples face . It brings her true joy to do so.
Seniah
Schera Reed was born 1/3/03 with Downs Syndrome. We were told that she would never have normal motion abilities due to the fact the extra chromosome attacks the muscle mass. But from the day she was born she has had music in her DNA. When she was a baby and would cry if I sang she would stop. Seniah has a severe learning and speech delay, so it is hard for her to communicate with others. Many times she has been made fun of by other children because they don’t understand her. It hurts my hearts because all she wants is to have the friend. Seniah soon discovered she had a gift that would draw people to her. It was dance. She began to look at all the shows on Disney were kids would dance and sing. She began to dance and sing all around the house. She actual began to sing better than she could talk, but dancing was really her thing. She has performed in the National American Miss Pageant where she won Miss Personality and the Miss Spirit Award. She performs at community events all across Houston Tx where we live with her older brother who are teen Hip Hop Artist. Herself and I have choreographed routine from several popular song such as “This is my Dance Floor” from ‘Shake It Up” on Disney to “Bang Bang” with Niki Minaj, Arina Grenada, Jessi J.

n 1997, A young college student named Bryant King, needed extra money to pay for school and since he had a love for music since the age of seven he decided to become a DJ. He came up with the name DJ Ghost because it was his invisible alter-ego. He later decided to join forces with his cousin DJ Quest and formed the group “The Prophecy”. They performed over the East Coast doing parties for different clubs and even a birthday bash for DJ Craig G. They split up 6 months later. It wasn’t til DJ Ghost met Groovey Lew (Badboy/Groovey Styles) in 1998 when he then was able to do promotions for artists like Ma$e, Total, Faith Evans, and The Lox. In 2001, DJ Ghost was performing at a nightclub when someone approached him and said “Yo you are spazzing out on those 1210s. Your style is very unique and different.” The next day DJ Ghost changed his name to DJ Spazz to match his “spazzy” style of DJing. Since then, He started an entertainment business called Kingpartystarter and been opening for different DJs across the United States and headlining clubs and special events. Months later... Bryant graduated with his college degree in Business Marketing and continued to DJ for the love of music. In 2012, He met DJ Reddy Redd (Get it lyve ent) and started touring different cities doing shows across Texas. DJ Spazz said “I dont have a problem opening for anyone (King-”partystarter”), I just want to warn the closer... I am going to bring my A-game so they better be prepared”. In 2014... He started off listening to earth wind and fire. And then he was introduced to 2pac. He’s had an appreciation for music ever since his mom used to play music for him when he was younger. uch sweet rhythm, that make us move from sun up to sun down. What a courageous melody that let us feel and express our inner emotions. The ability to create words with a mixture of instruments that has the power to control. Remember our introduction to the marvelous creation. Poetic words ring out from the large speakers of a boom box as men and women of all ages rant in the middle of city streets. The day and age when being an artist was a way of life, a time when musicians were motivational speakers, which touched communities. There is not enough time or words to describe the amount of labor that can equal up to the hours of dedication given to help us as we live our lives. From jazz to hip hop, country music to rock and roll folk, reggae, blues, the funk and soul. No matter your genre we all have a heart and a passion to hear. Over the years music has changed in so many ways positive and negatively, one particular

scenario is the downloading of music files, which some believe decreases one’s appreciation to the artist in the world of listening to music. As we know many people of today’s society are changing as technology continues to evolve. Downloaders tend to download songs rather than buy the actual CD because it is indeed faster, easier and time consuming. When searching for an artist online whom music we love so much we download the most popular music, which may be one or two songs from an artist with the most plays. It kind of becomes a nationwide decision rather than a personal decision. After understanding the fact that downloading is such a great and convenient process which has great meaning, however the process of buying a cd is so much more appreciated. We download to save time but an artist cannot take shortcuts to produce such wonderful creations. We may be supporting by listening to the most popular songs, what about the rest of the cd. An artist has many tracks that are left untold because we fail to realize the significant in the actual cd that was produced. It’s similar to when you meet a opposite sex for the first time, your attractive to that person I mean we all know what it takes to be sexy, but can you truly fall in love with just good
Photo from - Tiger-Tomboy14 looks or do you have to fully get to know that person. The laws of attraction is just like the laws of the music world one or two tracks is just being sexy, what about getting to know the whole album for what it really is can we appreciate music a little more than settling. Music controls the universe no doubt about that, and so does computers and technology. There should be no reason why technology amongst humans cannot get along. Technology is helping us move forward with the world as we know it. One has to get InTouch with their inner self, and emotion to connect with the vibes of music that we hear. Ever hear someone say “you get what you pay for” our economy of today society everyone wants to save a buck or two which is understandable which brings the agreement with downloaders who download to save a buck. It makes perfect sense however downloading for a buck takes the joy out of going to the local record store and purchasing your favorite artist album. The excitement of rushing home unwrapping it, and the ancient pleasurable wait to hear that fist strum of music. Artist will spend their whole life making the music America can relate to but selfish citizens expect beautiful guidance for free. Most people uses the download in a sense of ill rather go this route because I can get the music for free, therefore they could very well lack integrity for not giving credit where credit is due. Let’s say a person had heart complications and had to get surgery for a heart transplant, after researching you found two doctors one who put his time and effort into their craft went through the years of school, and on the other hand one that downloads how to transplant a heart but he is the cheapest. Which one would you chose?
The art of music, the way it tells a story, the way it paints a picture is priceless. There was a time when you could go to a nightclub and the DJ was like a club god. He was the guy that everybody looked up to, out of all the stress and drama in your busy life you knew that the weekend you can count on him he was going to spin all the right jams to allow you to dance all your problems away. Nowadays many DJs got away from the natural feel and begin using computers to create playlist of the hottest songs that are out. What can humans not think for their selves anymore? The craft of practicing all week to spin for the club the process of hanging out in the neighborhoods getting your ear in the streets to be able to supply the people with the music we need. So many DJs use mp3 it seems to be less effortless and less hassle rather than bringing in a whole crat full of records; however that’s the love of the sport the collection of collectibles just because we love. The irony of a DJ that claims he love’s music and shows up with a USB full of mp3 files.

hy do we collect? Why do we gather things of similar value and cherish it? Is it for the love, appreciation or just because we care, it can even be all of the above. Lots of downloaders collect mp3 files of music to be more organized with their wide variety of interest. Some would say it’s less of a hassle to carry around so many discs and have to manually flip through disc after disc to find the right one. Others will say the less time spent taking care of them, downloading eliminates the frustration of putting in your favorite cd to jam and then it skips and will not play due to lack of responsibility. We all know how being in a predicament such as that one can ruin a day, but on the other hand should one not be more responsible for something we care deeply about. What about the time spent on making an album cover? The artist takes delicate time and thought to create a picture of their emotions to reach yours. Would you agree that an album cover is also a collectible item? Think about the story line from track one to the last track. They all have songs that are awesome, why not cherish the whole album as its intended for. There are plenty of organized accessories out there to help maintain a wonderful collection of beautiful music. Listening to music is such an inspiring life changing operation let’s not ruin it with computers and technology improperly used for its intentions. Former musician Neil Young says “mp3s are degrading our music” that statement can be defined in many different views. The transformation of music being formatted to mp3 can be labeled a form of disrespect or unappreciated love. Mp3 are eliminating our true and inspired musician across the world. If all of our musicians suddenly disappear there will be chaos. Everyone loves music. Music changes lives, create life and also take it away. It’s the most powerful thing we have on this earth and to disrespect it by taking away the love is just wrong. To avoid harm, we need to get back to our roots of listening to music, buying music and supporting our musicians and artists nationwide. 17 JUSBU MAGAZINE

Here is a list of 15 simple things to consider incorporating into your healthy routine to help balance your mind, body, and spirit. 1. Exercise - Find an exercise you enjoy and start doing it regularly. 2. Be grateful - Stop to think about the things you have going for you and appreciate them. 3. Get plenty of sleep - Sleep is regenerative for your body. The more sleep you get the better you will perform the next day. 4. Breathe deeply - Whenever you think about it stop and take a deep breath. Over time this will become a healthy habit. 5. Install a shower filter - Chlorine is a poison. You don’t want to inhale it or absorb it through your skin while showering. 6. Ground yourself - Literally. Plant your bare feet on the earth as often as possible. 7. Eat organic - Chemicals are killing pests on the crops. They are not good for you either. 8. Do more yoga - Great for the body and mind. MindBodyGreen readers know the importance of this. 9. Smile more - It feels great :) 10. Spend more time with loved ones - In our busy lives we need to make time for the people who matter to us most. 11. Live your passion - Do more of what you love. 12. Get outdoors more - Go for a hike and enjoy nature. 15. Eat plenty of greens - Dark leafy greens are rich in vitamins, minerals and chlorophyll. They help alkalize the body. Slowly start incorporating these ideas into your daily routine and see how they positively impact your overall health.

10 old-school summer activities kids should try 1. Skip stones Head to the beach and pick a thin, flat stone no bigger than your palm. The trick is to throw it with a quick flick of the wrist, which should get it to skim along the surface of the water at a 20-degree angle. World record: 88 skips! 2. Catch fireflies Fireflies hang out in long grasses and marshy areas near water. Turn off your home’s exterior lights and blink a flashlight to attract them, and then use a net to gently scoop them into a jar. The jar should have air holes and a damp piece of paper towel to keep the air humid. Enjoy for an hour or two and then release again at night. Visit firefly.org for more tips. 3. Go to the drive-in Gone are the days of window speakers; the audio is broadcast through your vehicle’s FM radio. The iPod Nano (fifth to seventh generation) also has a FM tuner. 4. Binge-read a series Think Sweet Valley High, The Girls of Canby Hall, Encyclopedia Brown, Macdonald Hall, The Baby-Sitters Club and Choose Your Own Adventure. 5. Play a marathon card game Uno, War, Cribbage and Crazy Eights are classics. If your child has trouble holding cards, make this easy holder: Take two medium container lids (yogurt ones work well) and place the smooth sides together. Make a small hole in the middle and join them with a brad fastener. Slip the cards between the lids. 6. See a falling star Your best bet is the Perseids meteor shower, which peaks on August 12 and 13. 7. Build a fort Good basics: clothespins, sturdy metal or plastic clamps and clips, twine, cardboard boxes and sheets. Bonus points for digging out a string or two of holiday lights. 8. Make a DIY slip and slide Place a sheet of heavy plastic weighted with sandbags or big water balloons on the lawn. Squirt on a bit of (preferably biodegradable) baby soap or shampoo, turn on the sprinkler and go! Heavy-duty cut garbage bags would work too. 9. Decorate your bike Grab some washable paint, homemade handlebar streamers (using ribbon, string or yarn), straws and crepe streamers for the spokes and cardboard for a front shield. 10. Make a grass whistle Pick a tough, wide blade of grass. Hold between your thumbs, with a small space toward the bottom knuckles. Make a small slit with your lips and blow into the space so the grass vibrates. file:///C:/Users/jubu/Desktop/10-interesting-activities-for-your-kids-this-summer-blogadda-collective.jpg file:///C:/Users/jubu/Desktop/10-interesting-activities-for-your-kids-this-summer-blogadda-collective.jpg

I’m Dirty by Bridgit White
IN S
just can’t get clean… o matter how often I wash… crub… Soak… I just can’t get the filth off of me. Thoughts invade my mind and I remember. I remember the time when I didn’t ask to be touched, but was helpless to defend myself. I remember the time when I was induced with a drug and my body was taken. I remember when I thought he loved me and would never leave, so I gave myself to him. I just can’t get clean…
I was abused and it wasn’t my fault. I was misused and I didn’t even know what was happening. I was abandoned and didn’t know why. I am ashamed and I can’t get back my confidence. I just can’t get clean… This can not be my life. There has to be more than this. Why can’t I break free of my mistakes? Why do I feel like I deserve to be left dirty and in the dark? Why can’t I confess and believe that God forgives me? Why can’t I believe that the blood is real? Why can’t I just believe? Could it possibly be so simple as to believe God? Perhaps this is why I can’t get clean. Perhaps this is why my worship feels tainted. Perhaps this is why my prayers seem futile. Could it possibly be so simple as to accept God’s forgiveness? By not accepting God’s forgiveness, I have said that it’s not enough. I have said that I need more than that. I have said that I need MORE THAN THE CROSS. (Selah) But if the cross is not enough, then God is a liar and Jesus Christ is a fraud. No, I am not dirty, I am forgiven.

Dr. Paul William Dyer Dakota Dragon Is your Heart in fear or your mind enslaved?
S
top looking and complaining, Stop wondering and dreaming. I don’t say this because these are not good things, I say this because, as members of society, we have been conditioned to react this way to life. As unclear people, we tell ourselves this lie because over time we have conformed living with pain and fear. It has become an addiciton. I find that people either view themselves from one of two sides; either being a descendant of slaves or not. When you hear the word slave it most often triggers the image of the slave trade of Africans, the trail of tears the Cherokee people endured, or any other human being controlled by an overpowering “system of authority”. This type of control leads to frustration, anger and rebellion. These types of system feed off of negative emotions and energies our idolization of them. They are especially drawn to blood and suffering, which creates conflict, violence and wars between men. It is similar to the way we are controlled daily by our own fears. Open your heart: In our daily life, we are given the illusion we have everything under control by continuing to live under the authority ofsometimes negative habits of daily life. These habits of attachment make life easier it seems initially, but gradually we begin to slide from comfort to the fear of loss. Eventually, many of these attachments deteriorate into operating by rote, which is similar to an addiction. This further cuts into our freedom by escalating to a degree of compulsion. We truly have nothing under control, especially our own lives. As long as the addiction to fear can make us continue to conform to conventional ways of thinkng, we are not looking for an alternative way to consider how to change or deal with things in our lives. This keeps us in a familiar but not always effective of pattern of living and does not allow for us to be open to change. In daily life, we believe we can manage and in some ways manipulate people and events to keep the natural consequences of negative behaviors at bay, but eventually this cycle continues along unabated until the person has lost everything, life included.
32 JUSBU MAGAZINE
The Free Mind: When the mind is caged by conformity, it easily distorts our relationships with people, things and ideas. There is a natural pull to this compulsion. This view gradually becomes an attachment for us. This is the foundational distortion. Basically we are binding the human spirit to something or someone other than love. This death of the mind binds the human spirit. The living arts can change this, starting with gratitude. Regardless who you are or what your circumstances might be , if you are practicing the living arts, you can easily point to several things for which you can be sincerely grateful. Gratitude is the strongest possible antidote to the twin toxins of entitlement and fear, both of which play a huge role in initiating the addictive response of hiding and self-soothing. which our minds are gradually drawn towards. A heart that is awash in gratitude becomes a deadly environment to so many of the “spiritual weeds that tend to spring up in the unguarded ground of the human heart. False Security:
We are driven by a distorted heart that wants security on our terms; a stable home rather than the challenge and uncertainty of the journey. We want to settle down with clear fences to define the limits of our reality. We gladly accept a mortgage to remove any semblance of uncertainty. To us, being a king or queen of our own mansion goes much deeper than we think. Each day we are confronted with different types of opposition to freedom. Some oppressive forces are very easy to identify, such as a totalitarian government or an abusive spouse. Others are more covert. They come disguised as seemingly normal everyday actions and activities which slowly steal this desire to think out of the box. The dictionary meaning of freedom is “the power or right to act, think or speak as one wants without hindrance or restraint, without being imprisoned or enslaved. This can also apply to the freedom within ourselves to be open to new ways of thinking. Solution: Scream it, Cry for it, Fight for it, Train for it, Embrace it, Live for it, Change for it. Connection of Heart and Mind 1.You are the only one who can change this for yourself. No one else will be able to put the pieces back together for you in a manner that allows you to harmonize all the events of life toward loving and serving others. 2. To do this, you will need a close cadre of friends, preferably people who are far more mature in their faith and their willingness to suffer through all of your complaints, objections and backsliding as u embrace a new way of thinking. If you dont have a group of faithful friends, get one. 3. As you gain back your freedom, you must give that freedom to others. As long as you control anyone else or try to control them, then you lose your own right to freedom. You become bound to authorities higher than you. This is a very important aspect of freedom. We do not have the right to control others. 4. Know that human beings have become very divided within, full of their repressions and shadows, and harbor within themselves disharmony and fear that we then encounter in the physical life. Because of the division within, a person subjugates himself to a world full of divisions.
5. Greet each morning with a ritual such as this one suggested by the Dalai Lama: Today I am fortunate to have woken up, I am alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others, to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings, I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others, I am going to benefit others as much as I can. 6. Practice Compassion. Do not beat yourself up if you slide onto your former ways of thinking and give yourself a pat on the back for having compassionate intentions. We often forget to tend to our own suffering, so be sure you include yourself in your circle of compassion. Everyone is screaming for freedom, yet they want to control others as a way to predict unforseen danger and hopefully alleviate fear. Because they live inauthentic lives, they then willingly give up their freedoms to their government, society, work, religion, friends and family, eventually imprisoning their own minds. By choosing to be open to new ways of thinking and allowing others the same, we can bring to ourselves a new freedom which naturally conquers the fears we face daily. Written by: Dr. Paul W Dyer
