SITE LOCATION TOURIST ACCOMODATION LAYERED INTERACTIONS THERMAL VISUALISATION SEGMENTATION

PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT:

.01 SITE LOCATION : The following site is the Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge which is a small village sitting in the bushland outlooking the American River bay. This location attracts a lot of tourists and adventurers and is mainly companied by campers. The main outlook for this site is to show the topography and the change in soil over time. Although it may look like a flat land, this site consists of hills and crescents. This site has been changed into a place for people of the world to get away from civilization for some peace and tranquility.

.02 TOURIST ACCOMODATION : The red marked entities are to represent the built-in accommodation buildings for the tourists. They are evenly spread, preventing compaction and density. The lodge is surrounded by a high density of vegetation providing both shade during summer and wind protection during winter.

PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT STEP 1 : Finding the data from ELIVS Geoscience for the choosing site.

STEP 2 : Using cloudcompare to Separate each element in a different layer.

STEP 3 : Merge all the layers into one layer to create the final result.

.03 LAYERED INTERACTIONS : As seen in the image below, there majority of the land is covered in vegetation/trees. You can see that although people have settled into this location, majority of the natural forms have been kept safe.

PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT STEP 1 : Using the same data from ELIVS Geoscience for the choosing site.

STEP 2 : Using cloudcompare to Separate each element in a different layer.

STEP 3 : Changing the location of each layer in the z-axis to create multiple data above each other

STEP 4 : Changing the location of each layer in the z-axis to create multiple data above each other and then merge the layer into one

.04 THERMAL VISUALISATION: The thermal image of the site shows that the site does not get too hot in both the winter and summer. Although the more you head south, the hotter it gets, as seen below. It is evident that the higher the altitude of the soil, the hotter the temperatures are as they are closer to our sun.

PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT STEP 1 : With the same data, now we are focusing on the height.

STEP 2 : Using cloudcompare to show the scaler field and give us the colour of height

STEP 3 : After showing the colours appears we have to show what colour represent by showing the scaler field toggle colour scale

.05 segmentation: The segments show a better outlook of the site and differentiates the chance in elevation of the soil. The depth of the ocean is represented by the tone of purple. The darker spots are deeper than the lighter ends. It is evident that the highest point in the site is the centre, henceforth providing the visitors with a higher vantage point to view the view.
