Winter 2011/12 | Wingfield Springs Community Association Newsletter
F
irst and foremost, I hope that everyone has had a wonderful holiday season and that all of you enjoyed our Association holiday party. Please welcome our re-elected Board Members Bob Denis and Denny Jensen. Our returning Board members are Donna Chafer, Wayne Banaszak, and myself. I am looking forward to working with all of you on the Board once again. It’s our challenge to work together with our Wingfield residents to effect positive change, continuing to make Wingfield Springs the highly desirable community it was designed to be. An advisory survey was sent out to get input from all residents regarding the practice of bird feeding and the potential impact it has on our community. The returned responses numbered approximately 800, almost 40% of our home owners. These numbers of responses show the immense interest there is in this issue. The Board is evaluating the results and will decide on an option that will be best for our community. We completed our 2012 budget and are within our budget projection for the full year. We are budgeted for, and intend to continue, our major projects of water reduction, landscape improvements, and miscellaneous other projects that are deemed necessary for the overall community. We have completed and approved our landscape contract (National Landscape). We have negotiated a two year contract with National which consists of them taking on additional common areas with no increase in costs over last year. The management contract with AMI is a one year contract, also with no increase in cost from the previous year. We have finalized a new Security Patrol contract with ESI. Feedback about the new patrol has been very positive. The Wingfield Association assessment fee coupons have been sent out for 2012. Please review them and send in your payments on time to prevent any late fees. All of us on the Board look forward to seeing you at our next HOA meeting. It will be held at the Event Center on January 26, 2012, at 6:00 pm.

he holiday lights are now up within the community and looking festive! We ask that you please report any broken or damaged lights to our office so we can have them repaired as quickly as possible. If you witness any vandalism to the lights, please report the incident immediately to the community patrol company and/or our office. I have received several anonymous and vague complaints about barking dogs in the community. If you need to report a complaint to us, please include your contact information and the day and time of the incident for the Association records. Please be assured that your personal information is kept confidential and anonymous to others. You may also call Animal Control at 322-3647 to report a barking dog. Several owners have called our office to ask what the violation process consists of. Once a violation is confirmed, an owner is sent a 1st courtesy notice; two weeks later if the violation is not rectified, a 2nd violation notice is sent. Fourteen days later, if the violation has still not been corrected, the owner is sent a certified “hearing” notice. At the hearing a, fine may be assessed. Fourteen days after the hearing takes place, another inspection is conducted to see if compliance has been met, if not, an additional fine is placed against the property. The fines continue until the property owner is in compliance. The Association can place a lien on the property for non-payment of those fines.

2011 Holiday Parties
T
hank you to all of those whom attended this year’s holiday parties at the Red Hawk Event Center. We had many more guests at the brunch/breakfast buffet than previous years. The afternoon/lunch buffet had quite a turn-out as well. Associated Management and the staff at Red Hawk will work together in the upcoming months to come up with new ideas for next year’s holiday parties. We may hold two staggered breakfast buffets to better accommodate everyone. The guests were treated to holiday songs by members of the Van Gorder Elementary School choir; a special thank you to Laura Watkins for directing the choir. We may move the stage to a more central location in the room for next year’s parties to ensure everyone can hear the choir. As always, the cookie table was a success with the children; thank you Marcedes Parsons for helping and overseeing the children decorate their own cookies with frosting and sprinkles. The events came to an end with a special visit from Santa Claus who took time to sit with the children while the parents were able to take photos. Many owner supplied items for the Evelyn Mount Community Outreach Food Drive; the barrels were full by the end of the day and a frozen turkey was donated as well; thank you all! Thank you to Theresa Andrew and staff for all of the help in making this event a success and so special to many people. If anyone has any ideas that they would like to share for next year; please feel free to contact Associated Management at (775) 6267333.
