BIJLMER KWARTIER
The Bijlmer Kwartier it’s a proposal for the development of the former prison in Amsterdam. The program request was of 120.000 sqm (90.000 smq of residential and 30.000 of new activities). In collaboration with OMA, I participated to the massing studies and the program distribution. In the advance stage of design, I focused on the proposal for the Green Tower and the sustainability strategy for the location. The project won the competition and now is going to be built. TILBURG STATION The Tilburg University Station area is an undeveloped and un-designer segment of the city that deserve some particular attention, With this project we tried to install a direct connection between the station and the university campus; the intervention aimed to create a mixture between studying, living and working, in order to achieve a multi-functional, active area of the town, A re development of the social houses was necessary so that we ware able not to just provide a design proposal but also a small urban masterplan for the Station Universitat area. The project is still in progress.
NAGELE The competition asked for a new vision for the town of Nagale, Noordoostpolder. Nagale is one of the few town completely designed according to the CIAM principles. We find out that the plan was not completely realized and some elements did not work as they should. Furthermore, the starting brief asked for a new vision in order to position Nagele as a leader in the energy transition and bring the famous town as a landmark for the innovation once again. The proposal applies a multi functional sustainable energy system located in some niche in the border of the town, creating production- leisure area all around the residential area.

VINOTEK
Year: 2017
It was a research by design project organized by the Belgium government in order to re-qualify the entire Belgium cost. FABRICations choose some specific spot, and we investigate them, offering as an output several visions. As part of the research, I participated at the 3-day workshop in Blankenberge, with expert, spatial developers and local actors, to discuss the dense urban system along the coast. Oosternde was the second case studies. All the work in now available in the Labo Kust website.
The interior project was located in Liechtenstein. CBA were in charge to design the interiors of an entire building design by a well-known studio. We approach at the project in a fancy way. The company is involved in blood analysis, so that was our inspiration. We design some giant bubbles in the paving; they are not just aesthetic, but they also underline functions and have different colors for different floors. A mixture of wood and synthetic material were used in order to create a related but sophisticated atmosphere.

BOSSHOUSE Company: FABRICations Partners: - Team: Piero Vidoni,
Year: 2017
Bosshouse was an ongoing project of the studio, the amplification of the holly day house of one of the partner of the studio. The house in an experimental wooden construction and when I was in charge for that project, my tasks were to deliver the design to the constructors, drawing the technical details and facilitating the estimation of the costs. I also improved the interiors and some minors design details. I made several temperature analysis to be sure that the operative temperature of the extension was inside the comfort limits.
The truck factory MAN was going to recover some areas of its primary factory. Due to the automation, a big part of the industry was inactive and the company asked for a new design. CBA suggested a t a big canteen for the employers inside the industrial factory. Our first idea was re-use containers in order to maintain an industrial atmosphere inside the location. A specific arrangement of container was necessary in order to create a stimulating space in two levels, able to host 500 employees at the same time.and wood as the main material for the fornitures
RIS The Bayern Bank decided to have a Vinotek for his employers at the ground floor of his headquarter. For this interior project we decided to opt for a general solution that involved three different configurations, based on the needs of specific moment, for the different uses of the Vinotek. We used a combination of tables and drawers to organize the space and show the wines. In the ceiling we decided to place a blowup picture of a fresco located in Palazzo Ducale, Venice

GREEN TOWER
A symbolic center for the new development, where all the sustainable systems of the masterplan come together in an iconic public space
High in the city, after a steep climb, you look down the building on which you stand. Looking down you see the contrast between greenery and the plants that provide the complex with clean water, compost, heat and electricity.
Looking up, you see the wings that wind the wind along the building to efficiently placed wind turbines. And looking down at the square in front of the tower, you’ll see clean water flowing out after a rainstorm.
name: Boss house Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands Program: Housing Project leader:Eric Frijters, Team:Piero Vidoni
The facade of the building is self-supporting and it is directly anchored to the concrete foundations. Our assumption for the structural elements is a 44mm thick sheet material, a composite plate of 2x 22mm plywood, of type to be determined. In all the exterior surfaces we apply the Japanese shou-sugi-ban technique (burning the most exterior skin of the wood.)
Commissioner: Eric Frijters
Concept
A small independent unit is located in a residential quarter in Holden. The location is quite peculiar, it is surrounded by high trees and you can reach the place just though a ground beat street. Here is situated a small, independent house of 50 smq, with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room and 2 separated bathrooms. One of the partners of the studio bought the house with the intention to renovate it and make a status out of it. The principal intervention was to design an addition of around 40 smq in order to be able to accommodate a second family. From the beginning we choose wood as the main material. The extension is characterized by the use of a modulo, composed by a fixed glass panel and by an insulated wooden panel that can be open.

FREEDOM TOWER
THE PATH
THE ASCENSION
THE UNIVERSE
Is where the visitors start their journey. Life is not a straight line. so also the thin cantilever footbridge bends and turn to make the path more difficult for the pedestrian. At the middle of the journey. the visitors are immersed into an artificial mist ,spreading from the main structure. At this point, the light box is perceived as a blurring light into the mist.
Once you reach the main structure,a retractable walkway lead you inside the core of the structure. Here, a movable platform lead you though a super narrow space that get larger while you are getting up. A spotlight placed at the bottom of the core lights the walls of the structure while you are reaching the top.
When you enter in the light box, you are totally immersed in the darkness. Just some holes, placed in the walls of the hemisphere allows the light to come in. You will find yourself to be in the middle of the universe. There is no distinction or discrimination in the space because everything is dark and you can not see and judge the others. All men are equal and you can feel free, of choosing your position in the universe.

Being surrounded by trees provide a strange feeling; nature is something unpredictable, wild and undefined. Trees don’t have any plan about where and when grow, expand. The city is the exact opposite, everything is regulated and predictable, there is no space for surprising opportunities. The best example of what happen when we try to combine natural and human behaviors is a tree house: a living space that is a defined form in an unpredictable environment.
