ASKARI BURSTS BACK ONTO THE SCENE Having experienced a bit of a shaky start, Askari Beams are back on the scene in force. With over 1000 beams already having been sold in the crucial Beta Test phase, all wrinkles have now been ironed out and the revamped beams are set to make an imprint on the market. Askari has special ultra violet proof patented lenses (poly IR6) which are guaranteed for 10 years of unimpaired func on. Most outdoor beams use ordinary Fresnel lenses which deteriorate rapidly when exposed to sunlight, thus requiring about four units to achieve the equivalent life span of one Askari.

Walk Test Mode Se ng up the beam array for op mal performance: A er moun ng your Roboguard make sure it is detec ng intruders. If its range seems very short, you will need to adjust the beams to make them level with the ground and parallel to each other. Walk Test allows you to hear the beams as they detect, and make these adjustments.

Camouflaged guard

1. Remove the ba ery cover from the Roboguard, or press and release the tamper switch; the on-board buzzer will ac vate for about 20 minutes before going silent again. 2. Ensure that the securing screw of both top and bo om sensor boxes is over the middle line of the adjustment slot. 3. The Roboguard will now buzz once for every me the bo om sensor detects, and twice for every me the top sensor detects. You should hear three 'buzzes' which means that both sensors are detec ng. 4. Walk across the path cu ng the beams from le to right and back again, and keep increasing the distance between you and the Roboguard. Don’t walk directly towards the guard. 5. If only 1 'buzz' is heard, only the bo om sensor is detec ng you and the top beams are most probably set too high. 6. Top Sensor: Loosen the retaining screw. Sliding the box up will lower the beam, pulling it down will raise the beam (seesaw effect). A 1mm adjustment will move the beam 1 metre up or down over 10 metres, so make only slight adjustments un l you hear the beam strike you. Tighten the retaining screw. 7. Bo om sensor: Follow the same instruc ons: if only the top sensor is detec ng you, this me moving the bo om sensor box. 8. Work slowly and methodically and check every beam in the pa ern. Pause for 2 seconds between 'buzzes' to catch the next beam. 9. Note: Move slowly; if only 1 sensor is detec ng you, the Roboguard takes longer to react: it is wai ng for the other sensor to detect. 4
