Welcome to our Winter/ spring Season at JW3 There is so much at JW3 to keep the kids and families entertained this season. Inspired by our theme ‘Secrets and Surprises’ we travel to the heartlands of Africa to enjoy the theatrical adaptation of Handa’s Surprise during half term, including a relaxed performance suitable for young people with learning disabilities. Do your kids want to master art of magic? Then bring them to the magic workshop and performances that kick off our season of Family Fundays on Sundays at JW3. Later in this season come join us to celebrate the Jewish year with Purimon: Masks and Mayhem and a wide range of Pesach activities including interactive cinema, make a pop-up haggadah or try some creative cooking.
You may also want to try our fabulous classes and courses including – Sha’at Sipur (Hebrew storytelling, 3-6 years), Cooking Together (2-5 years) for tiny master chefs, and Little Chagall (5-9 years) for budding artists. For mums and dads to be or those who are new to parenting our bumps, postnatal and parenting events are sure to provide invaluable support. We are also especially excited to offer BabyBabble mornings at JW3 this season, with its invaluable, practical advice support network for parents with young families. So whether you want an after-school activity, a half-term club, the best parenting advice or a weekend treat, JW3 is the place to be for families.

Celebrate the ‘new year’ for trees with an action-packed afternoon. For those with green-fingers, we’ll be getting our hands dirty with seed bombing, planting with Active Learning and creating ecosystems in glass jars! Help your garden grow with Ground to Ground’s top tips. Foodie families
can learn about Tu B’Shevat fruits in the demo kitchen, the arts studio will be full of activities inspired by trees, and you can learn about the relevance of the tree within Jewish learning. Visit our pop-up forest to explore the different trees, and hear some heart-warming tree-toptales from our storyteller. Parents must accompany children. Age 2yrs+.

HANDA’S SURPRISE Price per Child £6, Price per Adult £6 THE LITTLE ANGEL THEATRE Travel to Kenya and follow in Handa’s footsteps as she journeys to see her best friend Akeyo, in the next village. Handa is taking seven delicious fruits as a surprise – but seven different animals have seven very different ideas… could you resist the sweetsmelling guava? How about a ripe red mango or a tangy purple passion fruit? A blend of physical performance, puppetry, live music and song combine to create an intimate, magical production with audience participation.

KIDS COOKING PESACH WITH FABIENNE 3-4.30pm, Price per Child £20 FABIENNE VINER LUZATTO Roll up your sleeves for some creative cooking – be transported in time to ancient Egypt as you become an culinary architect and build edible pyramids. Bring the story of Pesach to life as you recreate the sea splitting in two, and make edible art with our Matza. Come along to experiment with food and learn more about the Festival themes with our food expert Fabienne Viner Luzatto. Then take home sweet treats to share with your family and friends. INTERACTIVE CINEMA: THE PRINCE OF EGYPT CERTIFICATE: U
10.30am-12noon, Price per Child £8, Price per Adult £8 Experience the story of Pesach like never before, with this interactive cinema screening of Disney’s The Prince of Egypt! Cinema-goers will be given a goodie-bag with items to use during the film. We’ll be making some noise, singing along, doing a quiz, building pyramids and making the sea part. Lots of fun with interactive elements that bring cinema to life. Come in fancy dress from the Pesach story – the most creative outfit wins a prize! Parents must accompany children.

PESACH PREP: POP UP BOOK MAKING 3.30-5pm, Price per Child £12.50 Bring the story of Pesach to life in this workshop and make your own pop-up Haggadah! Children will learn about the Pesach story and the Seder meal whilst creating a beautiful pop-up book that will enrich their learning and deepen their engagement with the Seder experience. Bring the plagues of Egypt to life, create a sea that parts and find out what each item on the Seder plate means. Each participant will take away a beautiful book that they can use during their own Seder at home. Suitable for ages 6-11yrs. This is a drop-off event.

RUTH KAY Through your touch, you can ease many of your baby’s minor ailments, such as colic, trapped wind, constipation, teething pain or congestion, as well as promoting sleep! Each week a different part of your baby’s body is focused on – by attending several of the sessions you will become familiar with an easy to follow Baby Massage routine. BABYBABBLE MORNINGS AT JW3 10.45am-12noon, Price per family £10 per session DR STACEY PLEANER Created by Stacey Pleaner, a doctor and mother of two, Babybabble aims to make the experience of parenting, whether it be the first or fourth time, fun, interesting and convenient because “happy parents make happy kids”. The Babybabble mornings will be an opportunity to gain practical information, getting to tick something off your list by having your baby weighed and most importantly having an opportunity to build a support network and have fun with other mums.

Journey with us on a series of story-telling adventures, revisiting classic tales and new narratives – all in Hebrew. We will focus on enriching children’s vocabulary, developing their spoken language and connecting them to Israeli culture.
Join us for a journey around the world when the children (and you) are encouraged to explore new flavours of different traditions, nations and cultures. Every week, the children have fun with hands-on recipes. Through cooking we will also help toddlers to learn about numbers, colours, shapes and textures. At the end of each class, everyone feasts on the tasty final dish and takes away a new recipe card.

Fancy yourself as the new Dynamo? Then learn a trick or two from a real magician – you’ll be showing them off after this unique one-off workshop. You don’t need to have pulled a rabbit out of hat – this workshop is for complete beginners. You will watch a live magic demonstration and then be shown how the illusion is created (sssh… you’ll need to keep this top secret) so you can then astound your family and friends.
