FEED YOUR CHILD’S BRAIN

AUTISM AND BULLYING

8-9.30pm, £15

8-9.30pm, £10, £16 per couple

Join ‘The Food Teacher’, Katharine Tate, an award-winning nutritional therapist and teacher for an informative evening about children’s growing brains and how to provide optimum support, which will positively affect the whole family. Being aware of developmental stages (during pregnancy to teens), key nutrients and lifestyle factors which influence optimal brain health is hugely insightful and can support learning, mood, engagement, concentration and behaviour. This seminar will also include some demonstrations and tastings and will equip you with family friendly recipes to support brain health.

Nearly three in five parents of children with Asperger’s syndrome or high-functioning autism are reporting that their children have been bullied at school. In this talk, ahead of World Autism Awareness Day, Dr Debora Elijah will discuss why children with autism can be vulnerable to bullying, how bullying affects children with autism, including the effect it has on the family, and how to help our children and prevent them from being bullied. Dr Debora Elijah is a cognitive neuropsychologist and Director of the Elijah Social Cognitive Therapy Skills Centre for early intervention in North West London. Proceeds will go to the Conquer and Learn charity.

For expecting parents and parents of children of all ages - pregnancy to teens.
