A riotously funny immersive show about being a Jewish teenage girl. Inspired by her dad’s work as a scientist, Amy uses complex astrophysics (not really) to grapple with the teenage experiences that shaped her. Developed at the BAC and the Arts Theatre, The Quantum Physics of My Heart is a work-in-progress show by Amy Tobias.
The JW3 Art Salon is for artists and art-lovers. Each event explores a particular theme through cultural expressions. This salon looks at gender with Jewish educator Maureen Kendler on the original Yentl as a transgender story. With performer and academic Lazlo Pearlman and CN Lester, singer and author of Trans Like Me.

Yasmin feels rage towards the city she used to call home, but Aisha sees a different London from her best friend. When Yasmin suddenly disappears into the arms of ISIS, Aisha must decide whether there is any truth or hope in Yasmin’s new-found world. Nyla Levy’s play Does My Bomb Look Big in This? exposes the reality of fractured Britain.
Award-winning Hagit Yakira Dance presents Free Falling, a sensual, striking double-bill of contemporary dance. Air Hunger is inspired by the fear and anxiety of suffocation. Free Falling looks at the idea of falling, failing and the determination to recover. Hagit Yakira has created a powerful and atmospheric programme based on a collection of stories gathered over her years of working as a dance movement therapist.

Marie S’Infiltre brings her live comedy show to JW3. From the Cannes Film Festival to a political rally with Marine Le Pen, she mines the hidden gems of social and political satire. Marie plays different ridiculous characters, proving that the clothes do make the woman. This performance will be in French.
Leo Szilard is a Jewish Hungarian physicist on the run from the Nazis when he is the first to have the scariest idea that any human being has ever had: the Atomic Bomb. Jem Rolls’ critically acclaimed and unexpectedly funny play is the unbelievable true story of what happened next.

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of stories, crafts, puppetry and some of the most exciting children’s writers around. Includes the much-loved Judith Kerr, Emma Carroll, Alex Bellos & Ben Lyttleton, Irving Finkel and Raphael Honigstein and a celebration of Shel Silverstein.
Join us to find out the winner of the 2018 JQ Wingate Literary Prize. Before it is announced, this year’s judges – Bidisha, Amanda Craig, Maureen Kendler and Toby Lichtig – will discuss the significance of having a specifically Jewish prize and the challenges of judging it. Annual Spiro Tribute: Feathers in the Wind with Dr Sarah Abu-Kaf Wednesday 21 February 7.30pm | £15 | £12 web advance In this year’s lecture that celebrates the work of Robin and Nitza Spiro, Dr Sarah Abu-Kaf will talk about educating women and the Bedouin Arab society, higher education among Bedouin Arab young women, the difficulties, challenges and possibilities. Dr. Sarah Abu-Kaf is a faculty member and lecturer in crosscultural psychology at Ben Gurion University. Dr. Abu Kaf was the first woman in her Arab Bedouin village to attend university. She and her sister were the first women in their village to obtain doctoral degrees. Sarah will present insights into her own journey and the issues confronted by many Bedouin women today. She is a strong advocate of women’s education and how they are faced with the challenge of a patriarchal society that doesn’t always encourage or enable women to attend university. 12

The Six Point Foundation legacy grant survivor enrichment programme can, at JW3’s discretion, provide an 80% reduction for entrance to a wide range of events at JW3 for those Holocaust survivors and refugees who would like to attend but have financial needs. The Six Point Foundation legacy grant can also assist with transport costs, carers and other relevant accessibility costs for those unable to meet these costs themselves. PARKING Paid parking is available at the O2 Centre, 400m away. Free parking on Finchley Road and adjacent side roads after 7pm (6.30pm side roads) Mondays to Saturdays and all day Sunday. JW3 is situated in a residential area. Please be considerate of our neighbours if parking locally, and ensure you leave adequate space for emergency vehicles to pass.
