PERFORMANCE The Law of Return by Martin Blank Thursday 14 September, 7.30pm £8 Martin Blank’s spy thriller play draws inspiration from the events surrounding the polarizing 1985 Jonathan Jay Pollard espionage case. Notorious intelligence analyst Pollard abused his level of access and threatened US national security by passing information to Israel...or did he? Staged reading to be followed with a talkback session with the writer.

Judaica: An Embodied Laboratory for Song with Dr Benjamin Spatz Tuesday 3 October, 12noon-10pm £6 The Judaica Project is an all day symposium which combines physical performance training techniques with Jewish songs from all over the world. Explore songwork, theatrical creation, and academic research in this multifaceted event. Followed by discussion with Yvon Bonenfant, Nwando Ebizie and Shanti Suki Osman. A Wake! by Sofia Calmicova Thursday 19 October 7.30pm, £8 When the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991, entire ways of living dissolved with them. Some people moved on while others retreated into nostalgia. A Wake! is a performance commissioned in response to the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, the birth of the Soviet Union and the lives of Jews during that time.

Yentl - The Play by Spielers 26-29 November 7.30pm (Monday-Wednesday) 2.30pm (Sunday matinee) £10 Set amongst the shtetls of 19th century Poland, Yentl tells the story of an Orthodox Jewish girl who defies tradition by disguising herself as a man in order to study in a rabbinical school. Following the sell-out hits Blitz, Mirele Efros and The Melting Pot, JW3’s amateur dramatics group present this groundbreaking classic play by Isaac Bashevis Singer and Leah Napolin.

Agent of Influence by Sarah Sigal Tuesday 5 December, 7.30pm £12 1936. Lady Pamela, fashion columnist and socialite, is recruited by MI5 to keep notes on Wallis Simpson and Edward VIII, suspected to be colluding with the German Embassy. But Pamela soon realises that what began as an adventure has led to a deadly struggle for power in a world on the cusp of war, in this one woman play.


UK JEWISH COMEDY FESTIVAL The UK Jewish Comedy Festival is back for a fourth year, featuring stand-up comedy, a competition for emerging comedians, films, workshops, talks, children’s activities and much more! HamPstead & highgate literary festival The Hampstead and Highgate Literary Festival returns to JW3 from 14-18 September, with a line-up of some of the UK’s brightest literary lights, including Bidisha, Stuart Heritage, Claire Tomalin, Michael Rosen and Marcel Theroux.

We open the festival with a tribute to one of Hampstead’s most famous one-time resident, novelist, poet and one of the greatest songwriters to ever grace the planet, Leonard Cohen. Mercury Music Prize nominee, Kathryn Williams, British indie pop rock band, The Magic Numbers, singer-songwriters Polly Paulusma and Ed Harcourt lead a stellar troupe of musicians for a celebration of the music and poetry of the master of song.

From bestselling authors, writing workshops, Spoken-Word performance, literary cinema, a pop-up book shop and live concerts, the Hampstead and Highgate Literary Festival has it all. The Six Point Foundation legacy grant survivor enrichment programme can, at JW3’s discretion, provide an 80% reduction for entrance to a wide range of events at JW3 for those holocaust survivors and refugees who would like to attend but have financial needs. The Six Point Foundation legacy grant can also assist with transport costs, carers and other relevant accessibility costs for those unable to meet these costs themselves. Group booking discount: Buy nine tickets for the same event at the same time and get the tenth one free.

PARKING Paid parking is available at the O2 Centre, 400m away. Free parking on Finchley Road and adjacent side roads after 7pm (6.30pm side roads) Mondays to Saturdays and all day Sunday. JW3 is situated in a residential area. Please be considerate of our neighbours if parking locally, and ensure you leave adequate space for emergency vehicles to pass.
