K

.I.S.H. (Kingdom Investments in Single Hearts) Home, Inc. was founded by Kishma A. George, out of the desire to make an impact in the lives of girls & women in the community, as well as young women who are presently in, or aged out of the foster care system in Delaware. Through Ms. George’s works as an Independent Living Mentor, she has mentored young adults. During her tenure as a mentor she witnessed the tremendous challenges these young people experienced daily, while trying to find their way to a self-sufficient and stable life. A passion within her grew for these young adults and their future as she experienced their frustration in handling basic skills, such as opening a checking/savings account, parenting, and the frustration of single parenthood. Ms. George knew that these young adults - whether they were a single parent or single without children - needed a strong support system that would empower and encourage them to take control of their lives. They struggled in the transition of leaving their foster homes or care because many were still attending high school and were not emotionally or financially stable. Many of the young adults with whom Ms. George worked left their foster homes or care at the age of 18, and found themselves homeless, pregnant, lacking self-esteem, incarcerated or unemployed, and without guidance. She became frustrated by the minimum amount of resources the community offered these young adults and

6

wanted to make a difference in their lives, making certain that they had a safe; successful transition to adulthood and independent living. It was then that Ms. George began her journey of seeking ways to assist young adults in becoming emotionally and economically self-sufficient so that their transition out of foster care and into independent living was successful. Established in August 2008 as K.I.S.H. Home, Inc. the organization’s goal is to offer young women in Delaware the support they need to become emotionally stable and self-sufficient in every aspect of their lives and community.

F E AT U R E S

There is Still Time Rev. Dr. Doris Griffin As we begin the final quarter of the year and look at the dawning of the New Year, many of us hold regret regarding what was not started, completed, and or what has yet to materialize. When was the last time someone reminded us that there is still time? Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” We still have time to activate the plans that God has given to each of us to implement.

Grasp tightly to the thought there is still time. We must

keep the hope that God can still move His plan through us to reach the dream He shared. Admit it…There is an undeniable, unquenchable, irrefutable push to accomplish our assigned goal to reach the dream. We all have a dream that God has given to us and we are here to accomplish it in a prescribed amount of time. While there is still time, we must do the following: write the plan, connect with the select, and work with the end in mind.

Write the Plan – Settle down and write the plan. Writing a plan requires a level of discipline that many of us have lost because we’ve allowed the busyness of life to move us away from writing. Why have we reached adulthood and believed the “accuser of the brethren” that we can move ahead successfully without implementing the lessons of old? Writing the plan will draw you closer to committing to the completion 8

of the plan. Write the plan while there is still time.

Connect with the Select

– There are people who possess the expertise, resource, or knowledge that will help us reach our dream. Where do we find the people? Great question. Humbly ask God to point them out. Willingly review Facebook Friends, LinkedIn connections, church family, civic organizations, and any other network contacts for strategy. Connections are keys to dream completion. Who is connected to you? Are they moving in the same direction or diverting our attention away from the dream? Are they keeping us focused on yester-year or challenging us to take the next uncomfortable step toward the dream? Let’s analyze our relationships and connect with the select while there is still time

Work with the End in Mind – As you are working on the dream, keep a firm picture of what it all looks like to you. Obtain actual pictures to place around key places in your life. This visualization will help us work with the end in mind, while, there is still time. Seize this moment to write the plan, connect with the select, and work with the end in mind. Eventually, our time will run out, but God is faithful and wants us to achieve success while THERE IS STILL TIME. We can do it! We will do it! Why? The answer is simple… THERE IS STILL TIME!! IT’S YOUR TIME! Pastor Rodney Davis

When a woman is in labor, she has pain, because her hour has come. But when her child is born, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy of having brought a human being into the world (John 16:21 NRS).

K.I.S.H. Magazine | Winter 2017

9

In the text above, Jesus compared the soon coming pain of the disciples to that of a woman who is in labor. Notice, the Bible said that she is in labor and she is having pain because her hour has come. However, immediately after birthing what was on the inside of her, she forgot about the pain she had to go through. Some of you who are reading this article have been under immense pain and tears lately. Nevertheless, can I minister to you and tell you that what you’ve been going through is not because you’ve sinned, or have done some sort of wrong. On the contrary, this recent pain you are experiencing is due to the fact that it is your time. You are in a season of labor, and it is your moment to bring forth the dream, that is on the inside of you. Can I prophesy and tell you that some of you are about to give birth to your dream faster than the midwives will have time to help you bring it forth. Can you imagine how painfully tragic it would be for a woman to be in labor for 48 hours and never give birth to her baby? Now, imagine the kind of pain she would have being in labor her entire life, without being able to deliver. There are many of you, who are in labor with purpose, dreams, visions, potential, ideas, concepts, ministries, and businesses, but are having difficulty bringing them forth. Your due date has passed; your water has broken, and yet cannot deliver what’s inside of you. To make matters worse, it seems like everyone else around you seems to be giving birth to their babies vigorously. I believe one of the most tragic things in the world, for a woman, is to be incapable of having a child. Moreover, one of the most painful experiences in the world is to carry a baby to full term and not birth it. Truth be told, one reason people struggle with bringing forth what’s inside them has

to do with being barren. Barren is not just the act of being unable to produce, but barren is also someone who had the ability to carry but miscarried in the process. Even worse, barren also represents those that were pregnant but committed abortion. Moreover, barren also symbolizes someone who was robbed of his or her child. Have you ever miscarried your dreams? Were you ever robbed by people you shared your ideas? Have you ever aborted the vision God gave to you to deliver? Nevertheless, I believe this is the season where God is about to bring every dead dream back to life again! I have some good news and some bad news to share with you. The bad news is that some of you are not pregnant with a dream. Yes, that’s right! I said it. Unfortunately, some of you are not pregnant with a dream. However, the good news is, the reason you are not birthing your dreams in this season is because you are the dream being birthed out. You are the baby, in the womb, being birthed out. In this hour of your life, not only is God going to make your dreams come true, but also God is going to make you a dream come true in someone else’s life. It is your time to come out. You’ve been hidden in the womb long enough.

How do you know when you are ready to come out of the womb? Some of the ways you can tell that you are ready to be birthed out are when what used to feed you, no longer is able to feed you. What used to amaze you don’t even amuse you. What was once cute to you is no longer cute. What satisfied you before no longer satisfy you now. You now have a longing and a desire for more. Lastly, you have become so big in the womb that

what was carrying you dropped you.

Have you ever been dropped by someone you loved or trusted? I want to end with the story of Mephibosheth. He was the son of a prince. His grandfather was King Saul. Mephibosheth was a 5-year-old boy who could have been king. However, in one moment in time, he lost everything he held dear. He lost his father and grandfather at the same time. To make matters worse, the nurse that cared for him, in her haste to get Mephibosheth to safety, accidentally dropped him and caused him to become lame in both feet. She dropped him not because she didn’t love him. It is not because she was neglecting him. It is not because she was trying to abuse him. However, she dropped him because he was too big for her to carry. Likewise, the reason you were dropped, disappointed, and crippled by others is because you and what God wants to do in your life, was too big for that nurse, or that last ministry, or spouse, or partner, or pastor to carry. You thought that they were big, but in reality, the assignment that God has on your life, was and is bigger. Mephibosheth’s story did not end with him being reclined in a cave or shack in Lo debar; the place of no word; no communication; no pasture; but his story ended in recovery of all that he had lost. His story ended in total restoration. In the same manner, this is your year of recovery and

restoration of every dream that was dropped, lost, robbed, aborted, and miscarried.

My brother and my sister, IT IS YOUR TIME! 10

a’Reka Marshal is a devoted mother and entrepreneur who is dedicated to uplifting individuals in every walk of life. After surviving rape, foster care, domestic violence, and depression, La’Reka realized that she cannot allow life’s circumstances to dictate her destiny. Once homeless, La’Reka prevailed and created Soulful Gospel to give glory to God and give back to those in the community who are still overcoming the obstacles she once knew. As the CEO of 123 Easy Catering, Cleaning Scents, and Marshall PR, La’Reka has multiple platforms to encounter and encourage the masses to find their strength and discover their own destinies. As a child, La’Reka endured hardships that many youngsters are blessed to avoid. She was a member of the small but mighty population of children who are filtered into the foster care system when parents are unable to protect and nurture their own. In her case, a step parent violated her innocence in the worst way, initiating a disabling pattern of sexual and physical abuse. We can become comfortable with our pain and ultimately accept unhealthy attitudes and thoughts that reinforce our brokenness. When we are hurt, we think we are to blame in some way. We may believe there is a flaw in ourselves that makes someone else cause us pain. Well don’t believe it! La’Reka battled through years of depression and suicidal thoughts. If she had succumbed to those deceptions, her destiny would have been aborted before its birth.

People who are supposed to love you will let you down, no matter how successful you are. She was married then abandoned and soon found love again only to stare abuse in the face once more. This series of unfortunate circumstances drove La’Reka and her three children to homelessness. However, as she became most alone, lost, and discouraged, God became most tangible. Sometimes letting

By the time the praise dance finished and bellies were full, there was not a dry eye on the premises. La’Reka funds these events from her own pockets and the kind donations of people who share her vision and concern for the community. The pressure of life pushed La’Reka to use her gifts and talents through entrepreneurship. If the world rejects you, let it fuel you to follow your passions. La’Reka poured her professional cooking skills and love of feeding the soul into 123 Easy Catering. Simultaneously, her skills in polishing messy places subconsciously grew from a desire bleach away the stains of life’s many disappointments. Instead of remaining depressed, La’Reka continued to press. Cooking and cleaning brought peace and a revelation that we must monetize our gifts for profit to be in the best position to serve others. The profit is not just for our pockets because it leads to growth and gains in our soul. We must pour out our passions and life’s lessons into a hurting world. La’Reka says she “pounds the pavement” in every way possible. She is a firm believer that you must fight for your future while forgiving the figures of hurt in your past.

COVER STORY

Trina Bowers (TB): How are you, Evangelist Latrice Ryan? LaTrice Ryan (LR): I am amazing! How are you? TB: I am great and I am honored to have you on this interview for K.I.S.H. Magazine today. I have to tell you that you are one of my favorite preachers! I follow you on Instagram and I watch you on Periscope. You are an anointed vessel of God! I believe that God has raised you up in this season for many reasons. I think your testimony is truly amazing. When did you finally decide to give God an undeniable “yes”? LR: Well, first of all, I never had a rode to Damascus experience. I never had a light shining on me and angels were in awe. (Laughs) That never happened to me. I have always had the gift of encouragement. It was easy for me to encourage other people. I have never been afraid to speak in front of crowds.

Getting to Know Evangelist

LaTrice Ryan

the year of the woman! leading the way! By Trina Bowers

13

TB: I never knew you could sing! Okay! LR: I don’t sing now but back then when I was younger I did. Matter of fact, when I was a little girl I was the first Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in our Black History Program for our elementary school. I was the first female to be the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I have never had a problem speaking and never had a problem encouraging people. I was in the army for nine years and I would always lead prayer in basic training, in any advanced training or if we had to go to the field. About sixteen years ago, I was a young little first lady at the time and at that point I couldn’t run any further. It’s like I kept running back to the same point. So at that point, I couldn’t avoid it. I had to simply say “yes”! I kept ending up at the same point repeatedly. I was as if you know what, God, I see what you doing. I know now and I am going to keep repeating this test until I say “yes.” Moreover, in April of 2000, I finally said, “Yes.” TB: Wow, you are helping while I am talking to you! Amazing! I have seen a lot and I want to talk to you about women in ministry. Where do you see God taking women in ministry in this season, because I see women growing so much in a different dimension? Why is your heart so passionate for women?

K.I.S.H. Magazine | Winter 2017

Getting to Know Evangelist LaTrice Ryan Continued LR: For so many years, up until the 20th century women were secondclass citizens. Even now and you know this , as well as in corporate or even in the military and in our careers, we only earn about 70 to 75 cents on the dollar. In addition, for African American women we earn even lower than that. It is about 50 to 60 cents, which is on the dollar, compared to our white male counterparts. Therefore, we have to work twice as hard and give twice as much effort for not even the same amount of credit. I believe that women now in this hour are finally coming into our own. And understanding that we do have a place. President Barack Obama said one time in his state of the union address 2014 or 2015 or when he was speaking that he said it was the year of the woman. And from that point on I incorporated that into our ministry. That was like our theme music. Therefore, I believe that now women are finally coming into our own. We are finally understanding that we do not have to act like a man, look like a man or carry ourselves like a man to be respected in ministry. TB: Awesome! We as women need to hear this and know our value. I heard you talk about your marriage. Since we are talking about women, how important is it to be covered in ministry as a woman and being covered by the right one that God sends you? LR: Oh My God! That is so important! Your covering is everything! It is extremely important to be covered. You need to be covered by the right one. It’s almost like having a garment that does not fit right. I believe that it was David in 1 Samuel 17 when he went out to fight the Philistine giant, Saul offered to give him his coat of metal. He said, “I can’t wear your coat of metal to fight this giant because I haven’t tested it.” He couldn’t wear his armor and he couldn’t wear his covering to fight the Philistine giant because it wasn’t tested. It didn’t fit him properly! So you have to have the right covering that will fit your ministry and that’s a great fit for where the Lord is taking you. TB: You getting ready to make me run! It is so important to have covering and great leadership. In ministry, there are two people, the anointing that you see, and the person behind the scenes. I am a pastor’s daughter so I understand. People have to get to the realization that I need you to love all of me. LR: I have to be able to handle and appreciate when I am who I am and to know the difference. When I am who I am and when I am wearing the wife hat and when I am wearing the evangelist hat. I have to be able to not be confused when God switches it up and I have to place on a different hat. I have to be able to handle the different hats that I have to wear. TB: I love it, such a blessing! Very POWERFUL words, the Body of Christ needs so much training for marriages and ministry so they stay unified and don’t get torn apart. I’ve watched you on Periscope and I have seen your outreach ministry. Can you tell us how your outreach ministry is changing lives? LR: Well, we do outreach. Outreach is the heartbeat of Latrice Ryan Ministries. We have Pretty in Pink and that is our young women’s empowerment movement, of ages 12-17. Every October we have an annual day where we take the girls and host Pretty in Pink on a college campus. The girls receive a campus tour and empowerment classes. The reason why we do it on a college campus is because when I was growing up in the 70’s and 80’s, when we turned on the TV, we had the “Different World” and the “Cosby Show.” These girls have “The Housewives”’ and we had “School Daze.” The only reason why I wanted to go to school was 14

so I can play it. (Laughs) The young people these days don’t have that. We try to host Pretty in Pink on a college campus every year, a different college campus around our area within a 20-25 mile radius. Every year to give our young women a college experience, we have some of the sororities come and step for them. They will do a presentation and receive a college campus tour. They actually have the empowerment classes in a college classroom, so that they can get that college experience. The girls also receive a care package. They receive a bra fitting and a brand new bra. We do that in honor of breast cancer awareness. We have ‘pow-wows’ sessions and free lunch and its fun! In addition, the girls do get Jesus! Even though we try to reach them on their level, we still want to impart a positive influence and a positive self-image and impart Jesus. Then we have around Mother’s Day, “Live Through It”, an outreach for moms who have experienced a loss of a child. I did not want to focus on the single mom or divorced mom. I wanted to do something creative and out the box. TB: I want to commend you on something so original because we don’t think about that! We forget about them after they pass away and two weeks after the funeral is over. I love everything you are doing! God is about to do great things for you! Tell everyone how he or she can get to you and reach you. I Love watching all your clips on Instagram! What is happening for you in 2016-2017 year that’s coming up? LR: First of all, thank you K.I.S.H. Magazine for seeing Jesus in Latrice Ryan! This is all Jesus and none of me. It is nobody but Jesus. We are going into August, and 2016 is almost over. God has really done some amazing things in our lives this year. Game Changers was in January, and that’s our next level living conference and it was phenomenal! It was amazing! Every June, we host Unshakable Faith, our annual revival conference. People literally travel from all over the world and the nations to be a part of Unshakable Faith Conference. We usually host the conference in Memphis; however, for 2017, we are taking Unshakable Faith on the road. Unshakable Faith 2017 will be in Atlanta, Georgia in June. It will be phenomenal! We are looking to impact more lives, we are looking to impact more lives with Pretty in Pink and to impact more families with Live Through It! We are looking to reach the masses and to bring glory and honor to the name of Jesus! You can contact us and keep in contact with us by way of Instagram under Latrice Ryan, Facebook- Latrice Ryan, Twitter- Latrice_ Ryan, Snap Chat- Latrice Ryan and Periscope- Latrice_ryan. Our website is LatriceRyan.com. TB: Glory to God, I just want to say thank you so much from our hearts! We are praying for you at K.I.S.H. Magazine. And may God continually bless you and I think we are going to try to come down to Atlanta in June 2017! LR: Yes! TB: I am excited about Unshakable Faith! Keep doing what you are doing, touching and impacting lives. We love you! LR: I love you and thank you so much!

My name is Latisha Nicollette, creative designer and founder of Whata Bouta Clutch. Until now, I battled with sharing my story of brokenness, loss of hope and love. However, the willingness to confront my pain allowed me to completely tap into my faith and allow God to heal my broken heart, ultimately resulting in restoration! Until now, speaking about it wasn’t something that I was eager to do, especially since I was in a vulnerable place in my life at the time. I learned that my fiancé betrayed me with the very women I trusted him around…the mothers of his children. I had to call off my engagement and cancel my wedding planning. Facing the reality of not being with the man and children I grew to love was like death. The life I thought I had was now over. I was devastated, embarrassed and humiliated to say the least. Feelings of depression, hurt, disappointment and rage consumed me. I was ashamed and overwhelmed with the guilt of another failed relationship. The embarrassment and anxiety of the unknown caused me to leave my church for a period of time. Many nights I cried all night asking God “why me”? Those same nights God whispered “trust me”. I truly wasn’t trying to hear that at all. I obsessed over everything. I wondered how I could have been blind enough to miss certain things. I wanted to hurt everyone involved in hurting me. Anger consumed me and many had no idea what I was battling inside. All I knew was that I had to pray for God to help me. I’ve never trusted God with every area of my life, but I was now in a position where I had no choice but to give it all to Him. I prayed over and over for a positive distraction. And through prayer, God ignited my creative gifts. What I didn’t know is that Whata Bouta Clutch would be that gift and my blessing. One day as I was scrolling through YouTube I came across DIY videos for clutch bags. I seemed to be on YouTube almost every day, and watched these videos over and over. I started thinking to myself “hey,I could do that!”. Now here’s the thing: I hadn’t used a sewing machine since my 9th grade Home Economics class. I’m 38 years old, so that tells you how long it had been. Well, I went ahead and purchased a sewing machine and some fabric. That same day, it took my mother and I several hours to get the zipper in the clutch. I searched for more videos and I watched them repeatedly until I was able to get the zipper and lining in. That was pleasing to me. I’d sit for hours just making clutches and posting them on my social media sites as “crafty hand work”. Many suggested that I sell the clutch bags, but I initially doubted myself and this gift God that God gave me. As people continued to encourage me, I began to realize that I’d found a sense of peace in this new hobby. I wasn’t as depressed and angry anymore. In fact, I was excited! God has truly blessed me. I’ve connected with a several reality television personalities. These are connections/friendships that I never thought would grow as a result of what I’d been through. But to God be the Glory! My clutches have been seen on television twice, by Moniece Slaughter of VH1 hit franchise Love and Hip, and Brooklyn Tankard of Bravo’s hit show The Tankards Thicker than Water. Tara Wallace from the Love and HipHop New York has also worn and carried my designs, Tami Roman from VH1’s hit show Basketball Wives LA and several others have also carried my clutches. I’ve even sent clutch bags to our First Lady Michelle Obama, which she has acknowledged. I believe that there’s power in speaking things into existence. I declare that my clutch bags will be worn by the average woman, the fashionista, and well known elites. I truly give God all the glory and honor because had I not been utterly and completely broken, my clutch line would not have been birthed. K.I.S.H. Magazine | Winter 2017

By April Smith On February 28, 2012, April Smith introduced the world to Butterfly Cosmetics, which proudly carries the slogan, “Looking Fabulous and Loving It.” Her initial goal was to produce cosmetics that were not harsh to the skin and to provide women with the proper education on skincare and makeup application. After watching how many teenage girls’ (including her own daughters’) skin would become damaged because of trying an array of cosmetic lines, she vowed to step in with a solution. Wearing makeup is a big part of young girls’ adolescent years, so she wants to make sure that the makeup they are using is not harmful and she plans to educate them on the true purpose of cosmetics, this applies also to adult women as well. Butterfly Cosmetics features a light coverage hypoallergenic mineral line, as well as the popular “kamouflage”- a complete blemish and scar cover. April is successfully conducting a one of a kind exclusive media tour consisting of interviews with magazines, radios, podcasts, blogs, and talk shows. Butterfly Cosmetics has quickly acquired clientele that range from colleges with fashion and beauty programs to A-list entertainers. Not only is Atlanta buzzing about Butterfly Cosmetics, but the International Caribbean Market as well. April’s drive and desire to be the best is apparent from her motto, “Why stop somewhere in the middle when the top spot is right there within your reach?” The rapid success and international interest in Butterfly Cosmetics subsequently inspired April to create and launch her couture clothing line, Laschon Kouture in 2013. The perfect marriage of haute couture and fabulous face make for an endless stream of inspiration for April. In addition to her two international businesses, she has been called into the ministry and has started Pain to Purpose Women Outreach Ministry. Moreover, through the ministry she is hosting Walking into Your Purpose Women Empowerment Conferences throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean.

The worship leader decided to take her music more seriously in 2013. “To be honest, I always dreamed of singing my own songs. Her first single Here I Am, was released in 2014, under The Keys Productions, and produced by Tee Tunnell Harris. Since that time, she has written more than twenty songs for herself, other artists, and stage productions. Excitedly she verbalizes, “God is so incredible, let me tell you! Tiphani is known for her beautiful anointed voice. She has been singing since the tender age of three. She is also an anointed preacher that believes in delivering God’s people from the hand of the enemy. As time moved on as I grew in grace and matured, I eventually got married. In this 17 year of union, God blessed me with three beautiful children; Breauna, My’Kell, and Jadin. Women please do your heart a favor and make sure you are whole before you say, “I DO”! In addition, do not compromise who you are to accommodate any man’s insecurities… I will never be the total blame for my marriage ending after 17 years but I will take personal accountability to my flaws that did not help this marriage to succeed. With that being said my son Brendan Isaiah was born and lived for only 2 ½ hours. During this fragile time of my life all my resources became poison to my wounded heart, soul, and mind. I just wanted to die. I just simply gave up on life BUT GOD in all of His mighty ways came and restored me and because of His healing power, a song was birthed titled, “There’s Life Beyond This.”

There’s Life Beyond This

For few years, my children and I lived in a bedroom of a house. I went from unemployed to working a part-time job. My bills were more than my income, of course, my children’s needs were hardly met, and I never had enough money for their wants. During this storm and transition, my children and I grew such a stronger bond with each other. We cried together, we laughed together; we got mad at each other together… pretty much everything about us was TOGETHER! Just when you are at the bottom of the barrel is when God will reveal HIS WILL that was already predestined for your LIFE… I can happily say that my children and I live in a 3- bedroom townhouse; I work full-time as a paralegal and I have a 2015 automobile. And most of all, my children and I are HAPPILY HEALING and HAPPILY LIVING. Lord delays His coming I will be getting married in September 2017. I’m just thankful to God that I survived my hell. I always try to encourage many people by saying, “NO MATTER HOW IT LOOKS, IT HAS TO END IN VICTORY”!!!!!

EMPOWERMENT

Unlimited Access: When the Dream Meets Radical Faith!

A

By Shawneya Ellis

s I sat on my porch, looking up at the sky, I found myself making the statement, “There has got to be more to life than this.” My notebook in hand is filled with dreams and visions that were written out of the abundance of my heart. The tears begun to stream down my face because that one word more was like a dagger to my heart! I wanted more than the constant struggle of doing the same thing day in and day out. Longing for the chance to pursue the dreams the way I envisioned them. I wrote the vision, I saw the vision, it was excellent, but not tangible. In my eyes, it was out of my reach. I was stagnated by finances, resources, connections, and the lack of belief in myself.

Looking back there was an inkling of unbelief in God’s ability to perform what He had given me to do. After all, I was a single parent of five, living from paycheck to paycheck and I often had to borrow just to make ends meet. Providing the necessities was often a challenge, so how could I execute these various visions? I was looked upon as the girl with all the children, a charity case, a misfit, who would take me seriously? I felt like I was in a dry place not being able to produce anything other than mediocre normalcy. I had to realize that I needed to have faith without limitations, if I were going to bring forth these powerful dreams. To all the dreamers, your dream will only go as far as you believe! Small faith produces limited ideas and limited ideas form the borders of a box. The box mentality forms stagnation, which often leads to the death of a dream. If I had to speak to the evolving young woman that I was back then; I would tell her that, “Everything that you need is in you to bring forth wealth!” The dream is beyond your resources and the tangible. Faith, passion, understanding your purpose, and execution will bring forth your dream. You have to have the faith and persistence that the Bible talks about concerning Hannah. Hannah was a barren woman that was provoked by her husband’s other wife, Peninnah. Hannah was in a barren place, a dry place, unable to produce. She took her petition to God in earnest, persistent prayer. Her adversary or life’s circumstances did not distract her but she merely believed. Even though Hannah’s womb was unfruitful, her vision was very much alive. Hannah’s dream of having a child was manifested and the Bible says she went on to have more children. When you have the faith to believe that you can birth the dreams inside of you, it puts you in a place of continual birthing. Don’t allow the Peninnah’s to box you in! You must continually activate your faith even in what appears to be a dry place! No DREAM is too big if you would only tap in to it. Today I am living some of the dreams that I wrote down in that same notebook and other dreams I never imagined I would be doing. The faith to dream pushed me to pursue every vision as if I had everything I needed for it. What’s stopping you? Is it time, finances, education, or the opinions of people? No more excuses! It’s time to dream beyond the box! Dreamers you have UNLIMITED ACCESS! 24

Why Doesn’t She Just Leave? Letisha Galloway

Why doesn’t she just leave? Why does she allows him to hit her? Is she crazy? Many people make these statements. Domestic violence is more complicated than a simple get up and leave. Some women do escape from their abuser with little or no incident. For other women it is much more complicated to leave. It is a difficult decision to make. Most people do not understand how complicated of an issue domestic violence is. It is not as easy to pick up and leave an abusive relationship. The task is even harder for those who have no financial security. Many women are faced with the reality of not having any money available to them. Some abusers do not allow their partner to work. Other abusers take the victims’ paychecks and control them by giving them an allowance. Women have a difficult choice to make. Many are faced with how to feed themselves and/or their children. Uncertainty is the reason many stay in the relationship. The victims feel as though they have to choose between having a place to live and food to eat or being homeless and hungry. Being homeless is a risk for the women losing custody of their children. The abuser could gain custody of the children especially if there are no reports of prior abuse. Some women choose to stay out of fear. There are services for victims of domestic violence that people are not aware exist. There are shelters and transitional homes for victims of domestic violence. Women don’t have to stay in the abusive relationship. There are services but there is a need for more services as the issue of domestic violence is larger than the current amount of services that are present. When I was involved in my abusive relationship, I wish I had known that there was a way for me to escape. When I was 18 years old and pregnant, I didn’t see a way out. I didn’t want to be on the street so I endured the abuse. I let my abuser convince me that he was the only one who cared about me. In his father’s home, I had shelter and food. I believed that the alternative was for my child and I to be homeless so I stayed. It is a decision I would come to regret because later my boyfriend was charged with killing my son. He was never convicted even after two trials.

I am committed to educating people about the dynamics involved with domestic violence. I don’t want to see another woman stay because she feels that she has no other option. God allowed me to endure the darkest season of my life. There is hope. If you’re reading this article and are being victimized, please get out. Be safe, exercise caution, but leave because your life depends on it. God loves you and so do I. The National Domestic Violence Hotline 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) 25

ooking beyond what our natural eyes can visualize and reversing the thoughts that our minds effortlessly produce, can certainly be a task. However, remaining stuck in these patterns rob us as believers of great rewards associated with our Lord’s sacrifice. We don’t dream big enough; we don’t stand long enough; and we don’t fixate our eyes on His promises consistently enough. Visual distractions from the enemy come our way as a tactic for us to lose sight on what our Father wants us to have and experience.

I’m so excited about what God has for me! I have written the vision and made it plain according to Habakkuk 2:2. Therefore, when the enemy wants to lie again, I shut him down by refocusing on my blueprints and promises! Are you believing and building today? If not, start now by turning your course in the direction of The Great I Am! His promises are never null and void! Truly BELIEVE, BUILD, and RECEIVE!

I’ve been there! Those years of saying with my mouth but not truly believing with my spirit that I too am worthy of all His goodness. My life just looked so messy! After nearly two decades of entertaining lies from the enemy, believing God 100% of the time with my family, finances, and future has been a process! How grateful I am that my faith has developed and arrived in a HARVEST and DUE SEASON! The Word of God says that, “He will not withhold any good thing from those who walk upright” (Psalm 84:11). Furthermore, He encourages us to ask and we shall receive (Matthew 21:22). The moment we ask, faith must ignite and we should begin to build knowing that it shall come to pass. Building is the process of those things we must do in the natural. Research, networking, education, business plans, changing our circle, our diets, or any other necessary actions connected to the vision. Building it is doing our part while God is behind the scene blessing our framework! When the natural and supernatural come together, DESTINY is birthed! One can’t happen without the other!

INSPIRATIONAL

S

Play Your Part

by Prophetess Jamila Monroe

o God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female, created he them (Genesis 1:27 JKV). When God created us, He created us to live out His perfect plan. It was an honor for Him to make something that would

allow their lives to bring Him glory. He made us with His anointing that brings forth various gifts, talents, strengths, abilities, dreams and visions. It is time that we rediscover God’s plan for our lives and become diligent in our focus to be in pursuit of it.We cannot waste precious time playing a part that we are not called or qualified to play. We should not get stuck mimicking others to fill a role that is already taken. You cannot continue to settle for less when God has His best available to you.

With God’s plan auditioning is not necessary because He already gave you the best part of YOU. Stop settling for the part of a mistress when God has already given you the role of a wife. Stop settling for the part of a minimum wage job when God has already given you the role of an entrepreneur. Stop settling for the part of doing nothing when God has placed greatness on the inside of you. When you play your part it’s not something that you have to spend countless hours rehearsing, or even countless days changing your image. Your lines, roles, scenes and parts are already worked out. And when you do it the way God ordains it, you can count on it being a success. It is time to tap into what’s already inside of you! It’s way too hard to try to walk in someone’s else shoes. Your shoes are designed to handle every trial, and tribulation that life brings. Your shoes are designed to never

wear down, break or bend.

In the story of Leah and Rachael in Genesis 29-31, we see two sisters allowing envy to keep them from enjoying the life that God had for them. Leah hated her sister because she had to deal with the fact that Jacob didn’t really love her, instead he loved her sister Rachel. Rachel envied her sister Leah for her ability to conceive children for Jacob. Neither of these sisters understood their particular role. Instead they each tried to be the other. Being so focused on the other, instead of playing their part, they continued to live in misery. In the season, you have to decide that it’s time out for trying to please other people because that minimizes your part. Instead, live your life pleasing to God. To please God, means living a life of purpose and allowing your visions and dreams to impact the world, while all the while walking as a disciple bringing others to Him. In doing so you’re going to PURSUE your PURPOSE, DREAMS and VISIONS, all with diligence. From now on you won’t even play the part of a doubter, unbeliever, or lack of faith walker. You will TRUST God as your story unfolds. Remember, you are an OVERCOMER, you are VICTORIOUS and as long as you play the part of YOU that is specifically for you, everything in your life will bring forth SUCCESS!!

Pastor/Prophet Terry Weems, Sr.

n a time of chaos, catastrophe and confusion, a prophetic prognosticator is needed. One who can give clear direction and instruction to people in a world that is in constant disorder. This prognosticator must occupy an office that has been established by God. The prophet is a channel in which the Spirit of God flows. He is an interpreter who interprets Gods language and a transmitter who assures the current frequency from Heaven to earth. His mandate is to unlock hearts, unveil Heaven’s secrets, and unfold God’s mystery. The Prophetic Office is defined as a position of authority, trust, or service. The delicate office of the prophetic has become tainted by those who are misrepresenting the office for personal gain or hidden motives. For this reason people are rejecting what they should be accepting. If this office is going to be restored it must be occupied by those who are called to know and understand its sacred aspect. Those who cannot handle such

an office should not desire to sit in what is reserved for responsible and reliable individuals. We hear much talk about the prophetic. However, we hear little truth with concise knowledge of what the prophetic is. The prophetic derives from the heart, will, mind, and council of God. Moreover, should not be limited to personal prophecy. We as prophets have been called to the people to serve. It is not about being served but about serving others. Amos 3:7 says, “The Lord reveals His secrets on to His ‘servants’ the prophets.” Once the prophetic office is restored, the dignity, honor, reputation, and trust is restored. Hosea 12:13 states, “By a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.” The prophetic must snatch people out of their modern day Egypt. This refers to tradition, religion, habits, places, and positions, just to name a few. The prophetic is not about hype nor emotions. It is about resurrecting one from a mental, moral, spiritual, economic, and relational place. It is

the prophetic that stimulates prosperity among the people. Ezra 6:14 discusses how the people prospered through the prophesying of the prophet. The prophet initiates momentum to a people stagnated, immobile, restricted, and confined. This is the reason the enemy attempts to keep people away from the prophet. The prophet has a responsibility to never look at the outer appearance, but to look at the heart through the eyes of God. Samuel almost made a mistake by placing oil on the wrong head. The office of the prophet requires oil for the proper head for authentic functioning and operation. Ephesians 4:11 discusses the prophetic as one of the ascension gifts of Christ. The prophetic is one aspect of the five-fold ministry that is essential in building the church. The prophet is one who speaks on God’s behalf. He never speaks on his own thoughts, the prophet speaks as God reveals.

The prophet is a channel in which the Spirit of God flows. 30

Your Past Does Not Determine Your Future

by Danyelle Judie

From the ages of 17-22, I lived in an apartment complex that was income based. When I lost my job, I began to receive welfare and Food Stamps from the state for the first five years of my oldest daughter’s birth. When my second daughter was born, I had to go and reside in a shelter for about nine months. During that time, I was approved for Section 8. From the ages of 24-33 (my current age), I received Section 8. During that time I had a few jobs, however I could not walk away from Section 8 even though I had a desire. As a single mother with two children by two different men who sold drugs, I did not receive any type of child support. My home was a one income home and times did get tough. There were times that we had to sleep with candles because my electricity was disconnected. There were times my gas was disconnected so we had to use the oven to warm up the house. In 2009, I lost my job. So in 2011 my SUV was repossessed and my lights, gas and water were disconnected in my home. We had to sleep on the couch of different people’s home. That was a very low place in my life. However, I never gave up my faith in God. I refused to shack up and I refused to walk away from God. I was determined to be an example to my daughters and let them know how to trust in God. People began to become critical of my journey and count me out. I felt like I was a failure as a mother because I could not financially provide for them the way that I wanted to. All I knew is that God will make a way one day. I knew that my faith was being tested, my character was being developed and old ways and habits were being broken off of my life. At the age of 31, I finally received my high school diploma, which allowed me to obtain a job that was decent enough for me to stand and fully depend on God. God restored my transportation by blessing me with a 2014 in March 2015. In September of 2015, God told me to trust in Him, so I walked away from Food Stamps. In March 2016, God told me to trust Him again, so I walked away from Section 8 and God blessed me with a brand new 3- bedroom and 2 ½-bath townhome built from the ground. I just want to let one or two ladies know that God is a Redeemer and He will keep you. Ladies, you do not need a man to obtain a testimony; all you need is your trust and faith in God. God is a keeper and He will give you beauty for your ashes. God Bless.

Dynasty of Dreamers by Rt. Hon. Tammy Collins Markee Privy Councilor (Secretary to Council) - Global Institute for Human Excellence A Dynasty of Dreamers are a group of individuals that inspire generations by illuminating the enthusiasm and passion needed to continue to honor one’s calling as a dreamer. Dreamers tend to feel alive, engaging all their senses to reach a higher spiritual plane. When the dreamer is dispirited during challenging times, it can signify a season of self-discovery for sharing real life experiences with rich minds. These Dreamers have intense enough concentration to immerse in values that are timeless enough for limitless fields of hope. These Dreamers closely guard their dreams in the eternal truths of supernatural hope, faith, and dreams. They also celebrate the successes of other dreamers. The survival skills of these dreamers are quite remarkable. They are oriented around those that inspire and bring forth the best fruit. They have an outstretched hand to the unreached people with real life concerns that depict core issues. They insist on falling in love with the Word of God, to reach those that are spiritually pregnant with purpose. And to help them create something unique for reaching that point of jubilation. A Dynasty of Dreamers recognizes that the enemy comes to keep your dream bound with religion, legalism, striking fear, and self-condemnation that can be overpowering. In addition, there exist the emptiness, alienation, and frustration that mask the true nature of the universal success you need to fulfill your dreams. To have reverence, and to dignify all, will signify movement to your own self-discovery and supernatural status. God’s land of opportunity will bring new developments, as you seek to make a difference in the lives of others. This is our moment, and not merely a stepping stone. You deserve better. We deserve better. God can and will break the gridlock of failure to give you renewed energy that is backed by the support of a Dynasty of Dreamers.
