ENTERED THE U.S. BOTTLED WATER MARKET BEFORE COKE AND PEPSI EVER THOUGHT ABOUT BOTTLED WATER. Jerry tried to explain to Coke and Pepsi executives that bottled water was the future in the beverage industry, but they did not see bottled water as a high growth category. They could not imagine that one day bottled water sales would surpass carbonated soft drinks. After many discussions with Coke and Pepsi in 1997, Mr. Smith convinced Coke to test market Le Bleu bottled water in order to prove that the sales potential was there. Le Bleu bottled water captured up to 40% of the bottled water in markets where it was sold.(See Data Bank USA) Coke saw the potential of the bottled water market. After many years of Mr. Smith talking with both Coke and Pepsi and providing education about bottled water, the beverage giants added their brands to the market.

MARCH 2017

Americans Are Now Drinking More Bottled Water Than Soda Reuters Mar 09, 2017

It’s official: Americans are now drinking more bottled water than soda.

per capita last year, while carbonated soft drinks slipped to 38.5-gallons, Beverage Marketing Corp said.

After decades-long streak of strong growth, bottled water surpassed carbonated soft drinks to become the largest beverage category by volume in the United States in 2016, according to research and consulting firm Beverage Marketing Corp.

In contrast, per capita soda consumption regularly exceeded 50 gallons in the late 1990s and early 2000s, according to the report.

The shift comes amid widespread concerns about the health effects of sugary beverages. Several U.S. cities voted for soda tax in November, in a bid to battle dietrelated diseases, including obesity and diabetes. Bottled -water consumption in the United States reached 39.3 gallons

Total bottled water volume rose about 9% to 12.8 billion gallons in 2016, compared with a year earlier.”When Perrier first entered the country in the 1970s, few would have predicted the heights to which bottled water would eventually climb,” said Michael Bellas, chairman and chief executive, Beverage Marketing Corp.

‘Bottled water is America’s favorite drink!’ Bottled water takes top spot in US By Rachel Arthur Written June 1, 2018

Bottled water is the No.1 beverage product in the US (by volume) for the second year running, while carbonated soft drinks sales continue to decline, according to new figures from the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) and Beverage Marketing Corporation (BMC). Bottled water grew to 13.7 billion gallons in 2017, a 7% increase over the previous year. Sales now total $18.5bn, an increase of 8.8%. Carbonated soft drink sales decreased for the thirteenth consecutive year, according to the figures. “The distance between bottled water and carbonated soft drinks continues to widen as consumers increasingly choose bottled water instead of soda,” says the IBWA, which represents US and international bottlers, distributors and suppliers.

– nearly all Americans (94%) believe that bottled water is a healthier choice than soft drinks, while 93% say they would like to see it as an option in all retail situations, according to a Harris Poll conducted for IBWA. Even though the CSD category has been increasing its focus on lower calorie drinks, consumers remain wary of artificial sweeteners, says the IBWA. “Amid worries about obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and other health matters, bottled water’s lack of calories and artificial ingredients, convenience, and refreshing taste attracts healthconscious consumers,” said Joe Doss, CEO and president, IBWA.

Bottled water sales surpassed soda sales in the US for the first time the previous year. Shift away from CSDs America’s per capita consumption of bottled water has now exceeded 42 gallons, pulling ahead of CSDs (37.5 gallons). And BMC predicts that bottled water will reach over 50 gallons per capita within the coming years. The continued rise of bottled water is fueled by a shift away from CSDs towards healthier options

According to the International Bottled Water Association, the vast majority of the bottled water market is made up of small companies delivering it’s products within 300 miles of their bottling facilities. Current employment in Le Bleu Corporation is represented by approximately 35 employees involved primarily in the sales, marketing and

branding of Le Bleu’s products. The composition of multiple divisions allows Le Bleu to position itself to create points of availability for its product in all facets of bottled water consumption, and for that matter, all facets of beverage availability. As the following information will explain, Le Bleu Premium Ultra Pure Bottled Water has the potential to be available in every avenue of customer consumption, not only in the U.S., but also worldwide.

23

Licensee Distribution A small percentage of the homes in the U.S. presently have five-gallon bottled water service. Le Bleu is positioned for the ongoing growth in the five-gallon segment of the bottled water industry. Le Bleu’s five-gallon licensing plans all encompass the preparation to meet such growth prospects. • Licensed Territories Le Bleu’s corporately owned branches at one time consisted of 15 distribution centers. These corporate branches were originally created with the intention to prove to investors that an entrepreneur could successfully operate a Le Bleu licensed distribution center. All of these branches are now independently owned by entrepreneurs who have become Le Bleu five-gallon licensees and Le Bleu private label licensees. Five-gallon bottled water, office coffee service, as well as Le Bleu’s Private Label small package product portfolio are delivered to thousands of Home and Office Delivery (HOD) accounts through an efficient routing 24

system. With the licensee’s fleet of delivery vehicles Le Bleu has by far the largest 5- gallon distribution network in North and South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.

• Home Delivery of Le Bleu Gourmet Coffees & Office Coffee Service (OCS) To meet the coffee needs of the HOD segment, Le Bleu developed a line of gourmet coffees, including Le Bleu 100% Colombian, 100% Colombian Decaf,

and Blue Ridge Blend, available in filter packs and pre-measured vacuum-sealed packs. Cases are packed 42-count for food service sale, and each pack or filter pouch makes 7-10 cups of coffee.

State of the art coffee brewing equipment allows Le Bleu to provide gourmet coffees made only with Le Bleu Ultra Pure Bottled Water to its customers. All OCS accounts purchase coffee from Le Bleu licensees and utilize a coffee brewing system that requires the use of top-mounted Le Bleu five-gallon bottled

water containers to brew coffee. Coffee is brewed into thermal carafes, which help maintain the desired temperature for up to eight hours, and prevents coffee from burning/turning bitter as traditional glass carafes and warmer systems do. The increased consumption levels for coffee made with Le Bleu five-gallon bottled water that occur in the winter months help to balance revenue and profitability for Le Bleu’s licensees. Because Le Bleu offers high-purity water, customers can purchase smaller filter packs of coffee reducing annual coffee costs which more than cover the cost of five-gallon water. Le Bleu’s purity allows for these savings since the coffee pack size does not have to be as large to overcome the chlorine content and other contaminants that could be in tap water. Coffee segment revenues offer very high profit margins for both coffee and associated products. The development of the highly profitable OCS, as well as other products for HOD, has increased per stop revenues for many accounts without the need for additional capital expenditures related to delivery of the service.

25

Private Label Division After perfecting a private label program, Le Bleu began offering the same program to Le Bleu licensees. In some cases, licensees have invested in a complete Le Bleu private label labeling line, to allow them the opportunity and flexibility needed in their respective markets. With this private label program, Le Bleu Ultra Pure Bottled Water is custom labeled for sale to restaurants, hotels, hospitals,

26

resorts, golf clubs, spas, retail stores, nightclubs, sporting events, schools, universities, etc. Even one-time events such as weddings, reunions, anniversaries, etc. can benefit from Le Bleu’s private label program. This direct form of advertising is one of the most innovative and appealing methods used by businesses today. There is tremendous potential growth and profit in this division in the years to come.

Export Division Export opportunities abound outside the walls of the continental U.S. Le Bleu small package water is shipped and distributed in such international locations as Bermuda, St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Aruba, Bonaire, St. Maartin and Anguilla. Le Bleu’s continuing export focus will be towards markets that offer significant growth opportunities and those which are not freight cost or duty prohibitive. Ultimately, the development of Le Bleu’s small package in a foreign market will lead to the establishment of a Le Bleu 5-gallon licensed manufacturing plant and distribution agreement. Such a process has already occurred with Le Bleu’s distributor in the US Virgin Islands who signed a five-gallon licensing agreement in 2002 for five-gallon

manufacturing and distribution rights, to service the islands of St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix. Another 5-gallon bottling plant has been installed in Grand Cayman for service to Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

Technology Advantage • Purification Process Le Bleu Corporation’s purification process and associated purification technology allows the company to be non-source reliant. Le Bleu’s purification process goes five steps beyond the source water to achieve a level of purity that is unsurpassed in the industry. What other companies have failed to associate with high-purity water is a pure, light, and refreshing taste. Le Bleu’s technology combines high-purity water with a refreshing, light and clean taste, presenting to consumers the ultimate experience in bottled water. True spring waters can never develop markets very far from their source without becoming noncompetitive on price. Le Bleu will never face such issues as it develops its products through company owned and licensed facilities throughout the world. Through Le Bleu’s purification process, water can be sourced from almost any location in the world while still maintaining the same high purity, great tasting water. • Patented Le Bleu Automatic Bottled Water System The patented Le Bleu Automatic Bottled

Water System will revolutionize the fivegallon bottled water industry as we know it today. People want convenience! The system consists of a 50-gallon all stainless steel storage system with accompanying pump, ultra-violet light and many other features that feed Le Bleu Premium Ultra Pure Bottled Water to pre-plumbed Le Bleu pure water faucets and ice makers throughout the home. The system has been exclusively endorsed by the North Carolina Home Builders Association.

Builders begin by pre-plumbing a home for the Le Bleu Automatic Bottled Water System or purchasing the system as an added selling feature. New homeowners are introduced to the system via an information packet given by a homebuilder or real estate agent followed by a presentation by a Le Bleu representative. Once Le Bleu Automatic Bottled Water System customers have signed up for the 5-gallon bottled water service, they will enjoy the convenience of Le Bleu

Premium Ultra Pure Bottled Water and pure ice throughout their home with approximately five minutes of their time spent each month to fill the tank. With the Le Bleu Automatic Bottled Water System, 5-gallon bottles no longer have to be replaced on a water cooler that takes up space in the kitchen. Fivegallon bottled water will be delivered to the home on routed monthly delivery schedules. Alternatively, customers who do not purchase the system can pay a monthly lease amount for the system along with costs for all water delivered. Many builders throughout the Carolinas have already responded with significant interest and have been preplumbing hundreds of homes since 2005. Thousands of new bottled water customers will be available to Le Bleu through this program that offers strong revenue and profit generation indefinitely. With the introduction of the Le Bleu Automatic Bottled Water System in new home construction, there has been significant and growing demand by consumers to retrofit their existing homes. Homes retrofitted with the system are expected to comprise at least one-third of Le Bleu Automatic Bottled Water System sales.

• Patented Le Bleu 5-gallon Transport Rack The 5-gallon bottled water industry is faced with an ongoing, costly problem of “leakers”, which typically reduces daily truck inventories by up to 10 percent. It literally costs most bottled water companies tens of thousands of dollars per year in lost inventory, revenues and repairs/replacements from water damage. Le Bleu Corporation designed and received a patent on a 5-gallon transport rack, where all 5-gallon bottles remain upright, rather than the industry standard of horizontal bottle loading. For greater efficiency, each rack holds 48 bottles, rather than the 32 bottle industry standard capacity. Additionally, Le Bleu’s vehicle bays are designed to accommodate these racks securely for daily deliveries.

34

• Patented Le Bleu Rack Le Bleu designed and received a patent on a rack loading system that operates as a fully automated system for loading 5-gallon bottles on transport racks from the bottling plant line. The operation of this system allows for reduced labor costs during production. Further, there are numerous uses outside the bottled water industry for this patented rack loading system, and Le Bleu has considered offering the rights to purchase this patented system to propane tank bottlers, tar manufacturers, paint and sheetrock manufacturers, etc.

• Patented Le Bleu 5-gallon Outdoor Rack Le Bleu designed and received a patent on a new 5-gallon outdoor rack, designed to hold twenty-seven (27) upright 5-gallon bottles. This rack is constructed for outdoor placements in retail areas such as convenience stores, hardware stores and other retail establishments. The 5-gallon outdoor rack allows for greater incremental sales, and is a great way for redirecting “will-call” 5-gallon customers. The 5-gallon outdoor rack program has been very successful for Le Bleu licensees.

Summation Le Bleu Corporation is involved in the business of providing pure, great tasting water to consumers. Le Bleu’s state of the art patent-pending purification process, which includes fractional vapor compression distillation, allows the company to take water from almost any source in the world and purify the source water to a finished product of virtually pure H2O: 11% hydrogen and 89% oxygen. The purity of the water is achieved with a taste that is superior to spring water, without the risk of contamination that could exist in spring water. This core competency of the company will allow it to pursue very profitable and highly demanded consumer products and services in the 21st century. As consumer demand for bottled water availability increases, Le Bleu plans to be positioned in the right business segments at the right time with high purity water and the associated products and services in demand by consumers.

services directed at consumers on a global scale. Our society is continuing to become more health conscious, and as a result, has increased the scrutiny over products consumed. In the future, it is expected that the demand for high purity water will exceed the potential supply, so much so that companies positioned properly, will reap the benefits of having the right products and services for consumers throughout the US and the world. Bottled water has now surpassed every beverage including soft drinks. Le Bleu Corporation is working diligently to position itself with the right products, services, and distribution networks so that it can pursue its mission. Most people even in this industry don’t really understand just how big the bottled water business is going to be when it’s grown. Le Bleu’s licensing program is simple and unique; it will complement any large national or international company’s portfolio, allowing enormous profits to be made from the licensees tied to it.

The human body requires water. High purity water is a diminishing resource in the US, and the world. As society continues Le Bleu has the infrastructure and process to become a billion dollar to pollute the earth and ultimately the brand. available water sources, this resource will become more valuable. Jerry W. Smith, CWS-5 (Certified Water Specialist-5) President & CEO, Le Bleu Corporation

Jerry W. Smith, CWS-5 (Certified Water Specialist-5) President & CEO, Le Bleu Corporation Let’s first talk about your body and water. Remember your biology classes? One of the most astounding facts we all learned as students is that the human body is approximately 70% water; water which must be replaced every five to ten days ! You must have water in order to survive. Water supports every function of your body -- every process that transforms the food you eat into blood, bone and muscle. It keeps all your organs, tissue and joints lubricated. It regulates your temperature, dissolves your body's waste products and flushes out toxins. Common sense tells us that the quality of water we drink can drastically affect our health; doesn't it make sense that we should drink the very purest water possible? Actually, there are only three ways to ensure that you are putting pure water into your body--by eating fresh, organically grown fruits and vegetables, by drinking the freshly extracted juices of organically grown fruits and vegetables, and by drinking pure fractional vapor compression distilled water. As you look in stores at bottles of water on the shelves, you will notice that some have pictures of beautiful mountain streams, of grand castles, or pristine Alaskan glaciers. Some boast that their water is protected by hundreds of acres of pure virgin forest, or comes from frozen ice caps and deep aquifers. Others claim that their water has healing powers, or offer tales of Kings and Queens drinking their water hundreds of years ago! These inviting pictures and stories lead one to believe that these bottled waters must be pure.

Many bottled waters make claims about the contents of their water, and boast that they are rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium and zinc. The truth is that pure water doesn't contain any of these substances. Pure water is 11% Hydrogen and 89% Oxygen--nothing more, nothing less...just H2O. Now, if pure water is just Hydrogen and Oxygen, how do you suppose these other substances get into the water so many companies are bottling? As you probably know, as water comes from the sky in the form of rain, sleet or snow, it's in its purest form. However atmospheric pollution quickly and quietly can turn this once pure form into a polluted liquid. Pollutants in the air such as sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, molds and acid rain enter water as it falls to the earth. Then after the water reaches the earth, it can pick up even more pollutants. This is because water is known as the universal solvent. Rainwater moves through the earth and collects and dissolves almost

38

anything in its path. Lead, mercury, aluminum, sodium, iron, magnesium, antimony, barium, beryllium, boron, cadmium, copper, calcium, chromium, sulfates, zinc, arsenic, potassium and whatever else it comes in contact with can become dissolved in the water. What was once pure water has picked up a variety of substances and is now laced with inorganics which could be called heavy water or an inorganic mineral water? It is now anything but pure 11% Hydrogen, 89% Oxygen -- Water. All of the substances that can be found in water are in an inorganic state which means they have not been processed by any life forms whatsoever. The human body is organic (Living), and so it is most beneficial for our bodies to obtain minerals from organic sources, such as fresh meats, fruits and vegetables. We don't get the recommended amount of iron into our diets by chewing an iron pipe, yet this is the same type of iron we find in tap water if it has iron in it.

Cabbage, carrots, turnips, lettuce and celery are a much better source for iron because they are organic, just like the human body. We don't chew on white rock for our calcium, but it is the same source of calcium in mineral water. Fresh fruits, vegetables and dairy products are much better alternatives, because they are all processed by some animal or plant life making them organic through the process of photosynthesis. Minerals found in water are in an inorganic state and have never been processed by any plant life whatsoever. Let's say for the sake of argument that inorganic calcium and magnesium in water are good for you. How do you separate the other things that can be found in water that have been scientifically proven to be harmful, like sodium, aluminum, arsenic, lead, mercury, nitrates and manmade pollutants such as pesticides and herbicides? Water can't pick and choose which inorganic minerals or chemicals it will or will not dissolve and absorb.

with these substances they also list nitrates, sulfate and silica in the contents. Why would anyone want to consume these inorganics? It is another proven fact that nitrates can cause birth defects in infants. Infants have no choice but to accept what is provided to them by their mother in all stages of pregnancy. The water that we consume and give our children to consume should be as pure as possible! Why invite risk when it is so simple to avoid it? If we drink water in its pure form of 11% Hydrogen and 89% Oxygen, we avoid the risk of ingesting harmful inorganic minerals and chemicals in the water. Our bodies should receive organic minerals and nutrients from the fresh fruits and vegetables that we eat. Have you ever wondered why the manufacturers of our steam irons, car batteries and humidifiers recommend that only steam distilled water be used in them? This is because some inorganic minerals and chemicals found in many waters are the very culprit that ruins these products. Yet we drink the water we are not even supposed to put in a $20 steam iron. Do we take better care of a $20 iron than we do our own bodies? Think about this. If you believe your water is pure, try putting it in your steam iron and watch what happens after continued use. How does the fractional vapor compression distillation process work? Distillation is a natural process which is performed by Mother Nature every day through evaporation and precipitation. Through advanced technology, a means of distillation has been developed called closed fractional distillation which is not susceptible to environmental or manmade pollutants. When we say fractional distillation, this means that within the distillation system we have what are called degassers which remove organic chemicals or what is also called manmade chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, and organic chemicals such as endrin, lindane, PCBs, etc. Volatile organic chemicals such as benzene, dichloromethane, toluene, and trichloroethane all of these manmade organic chemicals and others have a boiling point at less than 212 degrees. These organic chemicals will boil off and go through the degassers and drain outside the distillation system before water reaches its boiling point at 212 degrees. During the distillation process, if there is bacteria, viruses, Coliform or E. coli in the water, the bacteria is killed and removed from the product water (also referred to as finished water).

must use some type of trap or barrier when trying to remove pollutants from water, and as we all know, traps and barriers don't always work. In capsule form, you might say during the distillation process water is boiled; the steam rises and cold water or an electric fan is used to condense the steam vapors back into pure steam water. If you go to the hospital and get a saline solution or a mixed formula, the water is just not straight from the tap, spring or a well. The type of water hospitals, laboratories and pharmacies use for this procedure is pure steam distilled water. Why don't they use spring or well water since these companies claim their water is so pure? The reason is because those types of water are not considered pure enough. The World Health Organization stated that 80% of the world's sickness and disease can be traced to unhealthy water. America is the most educated and advanced nation on earth and yet the American people are some of the sickest people on earth. While China is one of the poorest countries, the Chinese are some of the healthiest people and have the longest life expectancy. Of over 2,100 contaminants detected in US drinking water since 1974, 190 are known or suspected to cause adverse health effects at certain concentration levels. Nearly 2,090 of over 2,100 contaminants are organic chemicals that contaminate drinking water through a variety of pathways, including disinfection by-products, leachate from toxic dumps, gaseous toxic chemical releases from landfills, air pollution, waste water contamination, agricultural pesticide runoff, leaking underground storage tanks and chemical spills. I hope this information has informed you about water and that you will consider helping yourself and start drinking Le Bleu Ultra Pure steam distilled water. When purchasing any distilled water, make sure it is bottled either in a PETE plastic, polycarbonate plastic or glass bottle. Never purchase pure distilled water in a polyethylene or polyvinylchloride (PVC) container.

Distillation is also the surest way to get rid of the deadly culprit called cryptosporidium. Cryptosporidium is a parasite that has oocysts (eggs) that have a rugged shell which make it difficult for chlorine to kill. Cryptosporidium enters the human body through drinking water. Once the oocysts enter the human body, they position themselves in the digestive tract where they hatch and begin to feed off human nutrients. The largest incident of cryptosporidium occurred in Milwaukee's municipal water in 1993. The outbreak is now regarded as the largest outbreak of waterborne disease in the US history. The death toll from that epidemic was greater than the Los Angeles earthquake that occurred later. Estimates from the Center of Disease Control show that as many as 940,000 people become sick each year from microbiologically contaminated water. Distillation through its boiling process is the surest remedy to eliminate such occurrences from happening to you. Distillation is the oldest purification process known to man and is the only purification process which literally separates the pollutants from the water and discharges them to drain. All other purification processes

Bank The Choice is Clear © 1971 “So many people think of minerals only as those which come directly from the earth...inorganic minerals...that I must stress the fact that the minerals which are so important to the human body have undergone a change into an organic state. Only plants can assimilate inorganic minerals from the soil. By the process of photosynthesis, plants change these inorganic minerals into organic minerals, which can be assimilated by animals, including the human. So, when you buy Mineral Supplements, be sure that these are derived from plant and animal sources--not directly from the earth. You can no more digest inorganic minerals than you can dirt.” – Paul C. Doesn’t it Make Good Sense to Drink Only the Purest Water Possible... 41

The Truth about Alkaline Water and the pH of Pure Water (H2O) The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) is an independent, scientific, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving public health globally. It establishes quality standards for medicines, dietary supplements, water, and food ingredients. The USP has set the standards for drinking water at a pH of 5 to 7. Water is a very polar compound due to its molecular structure which consists of hydrogen ions that are positively charged and hydroxide ions that are negatively charged. The concentration of hydrogen and hydroxyl ions in water varies, depending on the type of water and its purity, which can be measured using a pH meter. The pH stands for “potential of hydrogen” or more commonly “power of hydrogen,” referring to the amount of hydrogen present in the water. The pH has a numerical range from 0 to 14. In the middle of the scale at a pH of 7, the water is neutral, which means there is an equal number of hydrogen and hydroxyl ions present. An example of neutral water is pure distilled water, with a pH of 7, which means that the amount of hydrogen and hydroxyl ions are at equilibrium.

Water pH can change by adding or removing materials that impact the pH. Distilled water lacks solids, which are expressed in terms of total dissolved solids (TDS), which include inorganic minerals and chemicals. Any solids in water are removed during the distillation process. Therefore, factors that influence pH in either the acidic or alkaline direction have been removed. The purity of distilled water is a function of the pH around 7. It is at this pH level that adding the slightest amount of acid or base will change the pH of pure water. Of the factors influencing water pH is carbon dioxide. In the food industry, carbon dioxide is added to sodas, fruit juices and other drinks to make carbonated beverages for human consumption.

Any pH number below 7 means the water is acidic, which is caused by a higher concentration of hydrogen ions. The lower the number below 7, the more acidic the water is. Any number above 7 means that the water is alkaline or basic. The higher that number, the more alkaline the water is. The low pH of drinking water is a reflection of its acidic nature.

Hard water inorganic minerals can be a major problem.

42

Even a small amount of carbon dioxide from the air can be dissolved in water to lower the pH to an acidic range. Each carbon dioxide molecule consists of one carbon atom bonded to two oxygen atoms. When dissolved in water, carbon dioxide forms carbonic acid. The hydrogen ions of carbonic acid contribute to higher acidity, i.e., to a lower pH in the water. As mentioned earlier, the pH value of 5 - 7 is well within the range of the USP standards for drinking water and is widely accepted in the industry. Carbon dioxide is a gas that is present in the air we breathe and exhale. It is generated in the internal respiration in the human body. Internal respiration is a process by which oxygen is transported to bodily tissues and carbon dioxide is carried away from them. Carbon dioxide is a contributing factor to the pH of the blood. Plants utilize carbon dioxide in order to synthesize glucose as well. It is also important to mention that some materials such as calcium carbonate and bicarbonates can react with both hydrogen and hydroxyl groups to neutralize the pH. These materials increase the buffering capacity and resistance to pH change even when acids are added to water. This buffering mechanism is referred to as the carbonate buffer. This can explain why tap water and other bottled waters that contain some level of inorganic minerals are not acidic. It is the buffering effect of the inorganic minerals that masks or counters the effect of the dissolved carbon dioxide. In addition to water, most people consume other beverages which are naturally acidic (pH 3 – 5), including citrus juices, grape juice, apple juice, tomato juice, cranberry juice and soft drinks. Neither the pH of ordinary drinking water nor that of any of the highly alkalized waters can affect the extremely acidic pH of the gastric fluids in the human body. There is no credible evidence to support the health claims made by manufacturers of alkaline

water. In fact, they may contain excess inorganic calcium. Not everyone needs added calcium in the everyday diet. Although an adequate amount of vitamin and mineral intake is essential to maintaining a healthy body and preventing deficiencies, excess amounts of inorganic calcium can lead to severe discomfort, diseases and toxicity. When the human body has too much calcium, it can cause a condition called hypercalcemia, in which the calcium level in human blood is elevated. Hypercalcemia in turn can cause a number of health problems, including stomach upset and vomiting accompanied by nausea, weakening of the bones, kidney stones, interference with the proper functioning of the heart and brain, and a whole host of other diseases and disorders. So while the body is designed to maintain a healthy acid-base ratio, alkaline water has the potential to upset this natural balance and lead to the above side effects associated with too much inorganic calcium. Therefore, any kind of deficiency, including abnormal levels of minerals in the human body, has to be carefully identified and treated by health care professionals. The saline solution or mixed formula used in hospitals is not straight tap water, spring water or well water. The type of water hospitals, laboratories and pharmacies use is fractional vapor compression distilled water. The public should be made aware that water which alters the natural chemistry of the human body is not a healthy substitute for pure H2O - fractional vapor compression distilled water (11% hydrogen/89% oxygen by mass).

What Is the Nutraceutical Industry? (And How Big Is The Market?) The global market for nutraceuticals had a value of over $380 billion in 2019. This is expected to grow in coming years. The nutraceutical industry is, therefore, a hugely important one. However, many people still know little about nutraceuticals, if anything. So, what are nutraceuticals? Read on as we answer this question and share more important information about nutraceutical companies and products. What Does the Nutraceutical Industry Do? Essentially, the nutraceutical industry finds ways to take the nourishing powers of food and use them as medicine. This is useful for many different reasons. Many people struggle to ingest the necessary amounts of nutrients from their diet. This is especially true of people who don’t eat fresh fruit and vegetables due to dietary preferences or lack of availability. Nutraceuticals allow users convenient access to almost every nutrient out there. No matter what you’re deficient in or feel you need more of, there should be a nutritional supplement out there just for you. Nutraceuticals come in the form of pills, capsules, and powders, but the term is also used to describe whole food items. As we will see, there are various categories of nutraceuticals. Important Types of Nutraceuticals You Should Know About - There are a number of different approaches when it comes to nutraceuticals, both in terms of the nutrients offered and the method of ingestion. The broad categories of nutraceuticals are those we’ve listed here. Dietary Supplements - Dietary supplements are what immediately spring to mind for many people when they think of nutraceuticals. They are medical products that contain concentrated doses of key nutrients that we traditionally would have gotten from foods. Dietary supplements typically come in the form of pills and capsules. Common examples are multivitamins and iron supplements. While dietary supplements can look like any other medication, it’s important to remember that they come from food in many cases. Omega-3 supplements, for example, are made of concentrated fish oils. Much of the research involved in the production of new dietary supplements is done on food. For example, a recent study on avocados suggests that some of their constituents might be an effective treatment for obesity. Functional Food - Functional food can be a confusing concept, as all food is functional in one way or another.

Functional foods are to be distinguished from dietary supplements on the basis that they are foodstuffs rather than medication. While they won’t make up your whole diet, functional foods are to be viewed and calculated as part of your daily caloric intake. Medicinal Food - Medicinal food is a similar concept to that of functional food. However, this term generally refers to foods with specific medical benefits as opposed to general improvement of health. For example, foods typical of the Mediterranean diet have been shown to be effective for sufferers of diabetes. The high fat percentage in foods like olive oil and yogurt have a more favorable impact on blood sugar levels in many patients. You should always consult a doctor before starting on a particular diet for a specific health issue. The Advantages of Nutraceuticals - There are many reasons why it might be a good idea for you to invest in nutraceuticals. We’ve looked at a few of the most important ones here. Treatment of Certain Conditions - There are certain health conditions for which nutrition is vital. However, the need for a certain nutrient may be so great that a regular diet simply won’t meet your needs. Anemia, for example, is caused by a clinical shortage of iron in your body. While you can get more iron from foodstuffs like green vegetables and red meat, many people find it more effective or convenient to turn to an iron supplement. Healthier Appearance - The most important part of any beauty routine is healthcare. Nobody looks their best unless they are in good health. There are a number of considerations here. Healthy hair, for example, requires a range of different vitamins along with healthy levels of iron, zinc, and protein. Your skin relies on healthy fats and antioxidants, as well as a number of vitamins. Greater Immunity Against Diseases - Your immune system functions with the help of the nutrients you put into your body. Without healthy doses of vitamins and minerals, your system will be unable to provide adequate protection against illnesses. Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, this is a more important consideration than ever. To give yourself the best chance of fighting off the virus if you are unfortunate enough to contract it, you’ll need your immune system to be in good shape. If you have poor immunity, you should consider taking a vitamin supplement. Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin E are especially important for this purpose.

When we talk of functional food, what we’re referring to is a food that has health benefits beyond its basic macronutrient content. These foods will do more than simply keep hunger at bay.

Improving Your Health Naturally - Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, staying healthy is more important than ever. However, many of us struggle to get in the requisite nutrients from just our diets.

Examples of functional foods include seeds, nuts, and certain fruits and vegetables as they occur naturally. However, there are also certain foods which are manufactured to have a greater amount of a given nutrient (milk with extra protein, for example). These are known as fortified foods.

If this sounds like you, the nutraceutical industry might have the answer. Nutraceuticals are a great way of adding natural sources of health to your diet without having to eat a hugely diverse range of foodstuffs.
