Give Parents a Break is designed to provide child care to active duty Air Force families with deployed or TDY spouses and those with special hardships. Deployment Care The Air Force provides 16 hours of child care per child pre-deployment, 16 hours each month the member is deployed, and 16 hours post-deployment. For example, if a member has orders for a six-month deployment, he/she is eligible for 16 hours pre-deployment, 96 hours during deployment, and 16 hours post-deployment equal to 128 hours of care.
